    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    We're looking for a Vice President of Product to take full responsibility for the success of the existing include.io platform, new, and future product development spanning customer development, design, code, delivery, as well as metrics and revenue goals. This is an amazing opportunity to lead a team that drives everything our members and customers see and use every day. You’ll formulate strategy and implement product changes that drive our goals, and as part of the leadership team, you’ll identify and set those goals.     • 3 | Customer Development & Research | Talking with our members and customers to learn what they want and what is missing in our products, and leveraging a data-driven approach to capturing and measuring their feedback.

    • 4 | Product Design | Work with UX, to translate customer needs into features. Plan those features as projects. Design the screens and interaction needed.

    • 5 | Brand and Marketing Support | You'll become the go-to expert for detailed information on our product and you’re the guardian of our brand. You’ll support marketing’s effort in clearly communicating our product features and benefits.

    Technical Program Manager, Operations


    Fastly is looking for a Technical Program Manager to work with our TechOps team to drive execution of tactical workloads focused on increasing availability and reducing vulnerabilities and risk on a day to day basis. You will be responsible for helping teams improve monitoring, vulnerability, risk, incident and problem management processes for Fastly daily. This position reports to our Senior Technical Program Manager, TechOps and Security.

    You are a leader and facilitator at Fastly. You will not only have TechOps resources at your disposal, but all of engineering on your side in the constant work of making our applications, our infrastructure and the internet a better place. You will also be held accountable for streamlining processes and de-risking projects by working with your counterparts on other teams and ensuring the TechOps teams are firing on all cylinders.     What will you do?

    Participate in regular kanban and sprint planning and burn down, helping teams remove blockers, manage dependencies and resolve prioritization conflicts.

    Work with teams during interval planning to ensure that mechanisms are built to accurately track and status deliverables during execution periods.

    Ensure timely updates on Objectives and Key Results from teams, report on current vulnerabilities and problem backlogs, and progress therein.

    Partner with TechOps, Security and Infrastructure delivery teams to learn from incidents and identified vulnerabilities to constantly improve our availability and security postures.

    Participate in executing on roadmaps for architectural and process changes focused on increasing availability and security of our platform.

    Instill discipline and consistency within the TechOps team in terms of operational best practices and documentation.

    This Product Designer position for our Plan stage group is 100% remote.

    A brief overview:

    GitLab is building an open source, single application for the entire software development lifecycle—from project planning and source code management to CI/CD, monitoring, and security.

    We started 2019 with a team of 15 Product Designers and Researchers. Right now, we’re in a period of growth, we’ve more than doubled the size of the Product Design team, and we’re increasing the number of GitLab employees to over 1000 this financial year, too.

    As a Product Designer at GitLab, you will be embedded in our Plan stage group.     • Demonstrable experience securing large scale environments under very active development.

    Expertise with at least one of the following languages:

    Requirements

    > 4+ years experience working within a tech or SaaS organization (extra points if B2B, extra extra points if you can show a correlation between your work and company growth during your time there)

    > 2+ years in a product marketing role, with a track record of successfully taking products to market (devising and executing a GTM strategy)

     Job Description

    At the core of the role, we are looking for an experienced Product Manager (PM) who will be responsible for building solutions so we can combine the best of both worlds - technology and education - to create the most supportive online learning experience at scale. The work will require working with the development and design team for our proprietary software, but also with Student Success, Curriculum, Career Services, and of course, by talking to our students from all around the world and becoming their main cheerleader.

    Our product is the learning experience for all our students. Some experiences we are developing include:

    • Integrating a 3rd party tool with our proprietary software to create an Absence Detection System

    • Automating responses to students to make the interactions with the Student Success Team to be more scaleable.

    • Systematically detecting collaboration and activity between coding partners during projects and pushing feedback or responses based on detected contribution levels

    • A work queue for our Technical Support Engineers to efficiently review and give feedback for every project students create

    This position is for someone that enjoys and understands the criticalness of looking at data, talking to students and other teams in Microverse (Student Success, Learner Experience and Career Services) to make the most informed decisions to continue prioritizing the tools and features we build for internal and external use.

    As such, you are responsible for defining problems through qualitative data from user interviews and other quantitative methods of feedback, exploring options that scale, analyzing and prioritizing impact vs cost, and leading the implementation of the solution, whether through leading the development team to build software or integrating the solution yourself.     What you will do:

    • Work closely with our engineering/UX team and friends at Apple to ensure we are creating the most engaging and seamless iOS experiences. Android development is fast following. 

    • Work with our UX designer to conduct customer & market research, customer and user feedback, customer usage and competitive analysis to identify new product opportunities and enhancements 

    • Provide clear direction on what needs to get done so we can get the best things done right and done rapidly.

    • You’ve worked at a retail startup or for a retailer, for at least 2 years, within the last 5 years. 

    • 5+ years of Product Management experience

    • Define products, what success looks like, and help coordinate releases.

    • Work directly with engineering to build exceptional products.

    • Work directly with product, sales and marketing to make ground breaking products and set and meet launch goals, incl. pricing, value prop, etc.

    • Help devise our overall product and business strategy.

    • Communicate progress, issues and successes with the rest of the organization. 

    • Qualifications we look for

    • 5+ years of Product Management experience

    • 3+ years of experience with related technology

    • Punching way above our weight, Netlify is a ~60 people tightly knitted team, consisting almost exclusively of very senior talent. We nurture the culture by carefully adding passionate and empathetic people as we keep scaling.

    Location

    • ~55% of the company are remote, (so far North America & Europe), and the rest are in our HQ in San Francisco. However to maintain a distributed culture we have Tuesdays and Thursdays as work from home days.
