      We are the company behind WordPress.com, Jetpack, and WooCommerce and are looking for an excellent candidate to join Automattic’s Strategy and Corporate Development team. As an associate, you will play a wide-ranging role helping build Automattic and WordPress.com, including:

      • Apply rigorous financial and market analysis to evaluate potential acquisition targets and investments.
      • Work directly with key leaders across our company to help drive high-quality business and financial decisions.
      • Partner with internal teams to grow our business and help make Automattic more efficient. Sample projects include price optimization, product line profitability, competitor analyses, benchmarking, and initiative forecasting.
      • Conduct analyses and market research to identify, assess, and prioritize our internal and external investment opportunities.
      • Help negotiate terms, execute deals, integrate acquisitions, and lead their long-term success.
      The ideal candidate:
      • Has 3-5+ years of experience with a strong foundation developed in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development, or a similar analytical and financial environment. 
      • Has strong analytical skills and the ability to model complex business opportunities and assess trade-offs.
      • Is detail-oriented and meticulous, and able to build on that foundation to provide high-level insights and strategic advice.
      • Is proficient in data visualization and in communicating quantitative insights.
      • Is highly self-­motivated, and able to work with significant autonomy.

      A passion for open source technology and an understanding of CMS, SaaS, and hosting environments is preferred. If you have experience with WordPress, software development, coding, open source, or other relevant areas, don’t forget to mention it. Like all positions at Automattic, you’ll work remotely, and can be based wherever you live. A willingness to time shift at least twice per week and travel ~6 weeks a year is important. We’re a distributed team, so good communication skills are a must.

      We’re looking for a Finance Lead to develop our financial products, including working with our product team to integrate risk models, asset pricing as well as coordinate product development with our decentralized finance and institutional finance partners.

      Role:

      - Lead the development and productization of our risk model to meet growing demand

      - Lead the community engagement and selection process for Paperchain as an asset-type in the Multi-Collateral DAI system

      - Lead ongoing projects with Centrifuge, Coinbase as well as other decentralized and institutional finance partners

      - Develop and manage capital facilities and lending that occurs from Paperchain’s balance sheet

      - Develop pricing strategies for Paperchain’s financial offerings

      - Work with the technology and data team to integrate financial product offerings into the Paperchain web application

      - Engage Paperchain’s legal team to ensure our financial products are optimized for the various locations and jurisdictions they are being offered

      About the Role

      The Business Operations & Strategy team works cross-functionally across the company, focusing on high-impact strategic projects and data analyses. As a Strategy Manager you will be responsible for driving Kraken’s strategy by generating key insights to make critical strategic decisions.
       
      You should be an ambitious individual who is excited by the challenge of solving tough, often ambiguous problems in this dynamic space. You should have the capabilities to independently manage projects from end to end without significant support and work cross-functional to get to a recommendation and execute on it.
       
      You will be responsible making well-informed recommendations on the difficult questions we face by generating insights from data analysis and other creative means. You will need to communicate your findings and recommendations verbally and in concise, actionable reports. Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn everything cryptocurrency are a requirement for this role.

      Responsibilities
      • Drive and own strategy projects from start to execution
      • Be an integral member of the BizOps & Strategy team in developing the insights needed to chart the strategic direction and priorities of Kraken
      • Structure complex and often ambiguous strategic problems for Kraken’s leadership team
      • Analyze and understand all dimensions of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, and develop perspectives on relationships, opportunities and risks
      • Develop and execute strategic and ambitious analyses to support strategy decision-making and to identify new organic and inorganic growth opportunities
      • Develop metrics, analytics and insights to drive growth in key areas of the business, including pricing, product development, geographic expansion, ancillary services, M&A
      • Conduct impact and ROI analyses to support prioritization of strategic initiatives across all key areas of the business, including sales and marketing, product development, operations, back office, etc.
      Qualifications
      • Strong strategic, creative thinking, and analytics skills
      • Experience managing a full project life cycle
      • Ability to analyze large amounts of information and data quickly and effectively to reduce complexity and make actionable recommendations
      • Ability to establish strong working relationships across all levels of management, and to work collaboratively and independently
      • Effective at communicating complex topics and influencing others

      Minimum Requirements
      • 5-10 years of full-time work experience
      • Interest in crypto and desire to develop expertise in the field
      • Interest in trading and/or exchanges
      • Excellent research and analytical skills, familiarity with PowerPoint/Keynote, and advanced proficiency in Excel
      • Strong teammate that works well with various functions across the organization
      • Self-starter that is capable of pushing forward projects independently
      • Experience in trading, entrepreneurship, strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, venture capital, or strategy roles in the financial services or technology industries
      Nice to have
      • Advanced Excel modeling, experience managing analysts / associates, trading experience, deep crypto industry knowledge
