Passionate about web development? Looking for a flexible, remote role where you are working on an enthusiastic and committed team?  This is a brilliant opportunity to develop your technical skills within a forward-thinking and supportive team.

Initial 6 months, full time with potential for permanent.

Anywhere within 2 hours of the UK timezone.

      The Role

You will be helping to care for a number of Umbraco websites, including maintenance & support, bug fixing and adding new features. You will also be involved, with the rest of the development team, in the planning and development of new Umbraco sites, redesigns and overhauls of existing sites.

You will be working remotely as part of a small team of 10 spread across the UK, Europe and beyond. You will also be communicating with clients directly. This requires excellent written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with both technical and non-technical people.

      You

      • enjoy solving problems and are constantly looking to learn and improve
      • are outstanding at communicating both verbally and in written English (and more than tech-speak!)
      • are detail oriented and meticulous about quality
      • understand how important good, disciplined process is; in software development as well as communication and project management

The ideal person will bring the correct mindset, ability to learn and adapt along with as wide a range of technical experience as possible, we therefore encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.

The mix of remote working and the challenge of improving your technical skills while communicating directly with the client means that this role requires very strong English communication skills and a good level of self-confidence.  Thus we encourage applications from candidates with a range of experiences, including career changers and those returning to work.

Also check out this video some of the team made to help you understand HappyPorch a little better.

      Technology

We are more interested in your interest in web development & your ability to learn, solve problems and your professional approach to coding. However, you do need to have a good working knowledge in C#, ASP.NET MVC, HTML/CSS and Javascript. Experience of Umbraco (or other CMS)  is an advantage, although is not required.

      What’s in it for you?

      Impact

You will bring your experience, ideas and energy to the role. As part of a small, fun team you will be much more than just another cog in the wheel. There is a huge opportunity to further develop your technical & other skills.

      Purpose

A key part of our purpose is to contribute in a positive way to the world around us. Thus we dedicate a portion of their “on the job” time working on ‘pro-bono’ projects that have societal value. This might include open source development, charity projects or training and assisting other organisations.

      Transparency

We run on self management principles.  This does not mean a completely flat hierarchy, any group of humans will have leaders. It does mean that we all input into how the company is run and everyone is invited to get involved and take on the level of responsibility that suits each of us. It also means that leadership is much more fluid than in a traditional company hierarchy.

We provide a lot of support and coaching to help you thrive in this environment and thus to do great work. Although it can be challenging, it is incredibly rewarding to be part of.

      Location & Hours

This role is remote, much of the time you can work from anywhere – well almost – anywhere within 2 hours of the UK timezone. We are more interested in results than micromanaging which means we are very happy to talk about flexibility in your working hours. Some of our team enjoy a very structured day, others flex their work around family commitments.

Twice each year we meet-up for about a week to work together. Recent locations have included Morocco, Madeira, Bulgaria and Scotland. As well as being really useful it is a lot of fun, so we do all we can to help everyone join where it is possible.

      About Us

At Close, we're building the sales communication platform of the future. With our roots as the very first sales CRM to include built-in calling, we're leading the industry toward eliminating manual processes and helping companies to close more deals (faster). Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a profitable, 100% globally distributed team of 43 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

TL;DR: We are seeking a Head of Product Marketing that will be instrumental in defining our product and market positioning and will take ownership of growing our customer base and platform adoption through a wide range of marketing efforts. This position will lead the Product Marketing function within the organization—an incredible opportunity to shape the brand and future direction of our product and company.

This position requires a highly motivated individual with previous experience leading product marketing and GTM strategy, and who is comfortable in a fast-moving  environment. The successful candidate will be customer-oriented, self-motivated and results-driven.

      About You

You have a knack for understanding people. You ask a lot of questions. You’re decisive.

As Head of Product Marketing at Close, your primary job is to understand our customer— what motivates them, what makes their job difficult, and what simply delights them. You will take these constant and ongoing learnings and deftly apply them to the way we position our brand and product to the world. After all, product marketing is at its very core, “people marketing”.

Your previous experience creating successful go-to-market plans (from high-level strategy down to tactical execution) will enable you to oversee the rollout of all new products and feature updates.

Sometimes you’ll be looking at our product marketing from a high level view—say, determining our key objectives for the quarter or the year. Other days, you may be down in the weeds yourself, writing landing page copy or working with others on the marketing team to run A/B conversion tests on site. You’re comfortable—and happy—doing both.

What you don’t know, you’ll openly admit, but then you’ll get to work figuring it out (asking others for help and/or digging deep on your own). Your self-motivation and a relentless drive to learn/do more are appreciated by all. You pride yourself on being a “clever thinker”.  You’re comfortable talking with and working alongside our product, sales, development, and customer success teams. You understand your critical part in the overall machine, graciously accepting thoughts and feedback from others while offering your own expertise where you can. You pride yourself on being “overly communicative” -- keeping everyone up to date with the latest product marketing wins, losses, and initiatives.

You are comfortable working remotely as part of a small team, with a high level of autonomy. You can devise your own schedule and effectively manage your workload based on the biggest opportunities and company objectives.

When you’re in the wrong or make a mistake you can admit it. You can articulate why it happened and how you’ve learned from the experience.

You are in a European or American timezone.

Above all, you understand that your success—and our success—hinges on the satisfaction and loyalty of our customers.

Ceros is an experiential content platform that empowers the creation of bespoke, immersive digital content without code. We’re passionate about helping companies transform their static digital content into engaging experiences. From custom interactive microcontent, to immersive event microsites, you can build it with Ceros. Publish and update live content instantly, and embed it into your site instantly. Join us in ending the endless creation of static content and be part of the movement towards meaningful content experiences.

Our customers include some of the world’s leading brands, such as Mashable, GE, Red Bull, United Airlines, and IBM.

We are well-funded and venture-backed by prominent investors including Grotech Ventures, Greycroft, and Starvest Partners.

      About the Product

Ceros provides multiple products and the Devops team supports them all.

The core Ceros (https://ceros.com) product is comprised of multiple single-page applications (Admin, Studio, and Player) written in Javascript using libraries like jQuery, Require, and Backbone.  It is supported by a REST backend built in PHP. The Ceros Studio is built around the HTML5 Canvas element.

We’re in the midst of migrating both the frontend and backend to Typescript.

The infrastructure uses Docker, Jenkins, and Cloudformation. We use a myriad of AWS offerings. We also use Okta for authentication and Fastly as a CDN.  We’re eying a migration to Terraform and Kubernetes.

The DevOps team also supports Markup (https://markup.io), which is built in React and Typescript on the frontend and Typescript on the backend.  Its infrastructure uses Terraform and Kubernetes on AWS.

      About the Team

As part of the Ceros product team, you’ll be working with a cross-functional group of the most talented people you’ve ever worked with. We hire only passionate and creative people with a proven and unquestionable ability to execute, and every member of the team is equally responsible for moving the product forward.

We have a dynamic company culture that collaborates daily. We care deeply about the user experience, and we debate passionately about our ideas. When you work at Ceros, you check your ego at the door, and you aren’t afraid to be honest, especially to yourself. We take our jobs seriously but ourselves not so much.

The DevOps team is the primary caretaker of the infrastructure, responsible for owning the infrastructure roadmap and pushing it forward.  We’re constantly looking to improve the infrastructure to make it more stable, scalable, available, more easily deployed, and easier to work with.

We follow DevOps principles, which means we view ourselves as the deep knowledge and support for all the developers when they need to write infrastructure code for their stories and fight the tendency to silo on a daily basis.  We each attend one of the other development team’s standups as a liaison and we keep the door to the #devops slack wide open for anyone who has questions. We review the other team’s infrastructure code to make sure it’s in line with where we want to go.  And we work to build better tooling around development processes to support the other teams in their work to push the product forward.

      About the Job

As a DevOps focused engineer, your typical day-to-day involves:

      • Evaluating, testing and building new infrastructure tools and technology

      • Writing detailed planning documents on stories so your teammates can assess the proposed approaches to a story, offer suggestions of approaches missed, and we can all agree on where to go from there

      • Writing maintainable code (probably goes without saying)

      • Carrying out and being on the receiving end of intense code review sessions from your peers who hold your work (and their own) to the highest of standards

      • Helping the full stack development teams write infrastructure code, and reviewing said code

      • Writing clear documentation around infrastructure code and development tooling so that it’s easy to understand, use, and modify

      • Working closely with the rest of the team to deploy new releases and data migrations without hiccups

      • And finally, ensuring the availability of the Ceros platform

      What we’re looking for:

      • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, infrastructure orchestration, containerization, linux administration... you know, DevOps.

        • In particular, several years of experience with Terraform and Kubernetes.

      • An eagerness to write well documented, clear code.  You understand that infrastructure code is still code and the principles of documentation and organization that apply to every other kind of code, still apply here.

      • The wisdom of experience.  You understand that principles and design patterns are important guidelines, but not hard and fast rules.  You know when to apply a pattern and when not to, when to hold fast to a certain principle, and when to let it go.  You understand that sometimes we can’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good and we’ll have to take on tech debt, but when we do, it should be with consideration and intention (and should be documented).

      • An eagerness to learn.  We’re looking for engineers who are able and eager to keep up with the pace of our rapidly evolving field.

      Key things to know

      • This is a remote role

      • We want you to start ASAP

      • This is a full-time position

      • Unlimited vacation days

      • Competitive salary

      • Stock options

      • Premium health insurance

Working completely from home, you’ll be communicating often through chat rooms, email, and video conferencing. We offer flexible working hours and an extremely flexible vacation policy. And we provide excellent gear (15” Macbook Pro, iPad, external monitor, etc.).

      Next Steps

If you’re interested in being part of the Ceros team, please send your resume and a cover letter to us. We’re a company of passionate, honest, and sometimes silly people, so don’t be afraid to express yourself.

    • This Product Designer or Senior Product Designer position for our Compliance group is 100% remote.

      A brief overview:

GitLab is building an open-source, single application for the entire software development lifecycle—from project planning and source code management to CI/CD, monitoring, and security.

We started 2019 with a team of 15 Product Designers and Researchers. Right now, we’re in a period of growth, we’ve more than doubled the size of the Product Design team, and we’ve increased the number of GitLab employees from 400 to over 1100 this financial year, too.

At GitLab, we live and breathe open source principles. This means our entire handbook is online, and with a few clicks, you can find the details of future releases, check out our past releases, and see an overview of the product vision you’d contribute to when working here.

As a Product Designer at GitLab, you will be embedded in our Compliance group. It’s a complex area where you’ll be tasked with improving the controls we provide to support our customers to help them manage their compliance posture within GitLab. You'll be designing new features and experiences to improve the quality of life for customers who operate within regulated environments.

What you can expect in a Product Designer, Compliance role at GitLab:
      • You’ll be tasked with bettering our product for users who rely on our compliance features. The work you’ll do will enable greater adoption of our product within the enterprise space and impact users across a range of industries, from healthcare to manufacturing.
      • You’ll collaborate with a Product Manager to define the priorities, roadmap, and overall strategy for the future of Compliance within our product.
      • You'll work alongside Product Managers and UX Researchers to understand the needs of our users to shape how compliance features underpin the work within regulated industries.
      • You’ll come together with our Technical Writers to better our compliance documentation and in-product content.
      • You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to uncover and understand the complexities and limitations of our current compliance tools, advocating for the end-user in all areas, including documentation, ease of use, and visualization of key messaging.
      • You’ll utilize wireframes, prototypes, user flows, mockups, high-fidelity visual designs, or any other artifacts you believe are necessary to convey your design thinking and ideas.
      • You’ll engage with our user base and the wider GitLab community to understand their pain points and work toward long-term fixes that enable them to succeed with their goals.
      • You’ll undertake usability testing to validate your thinking, collaborate with our UX Researchers on generative research, and you’ll share findings with the wider team in our research repo, ensuring recommendations are communicated effectively across our organization.
      • You’ll contribute compliance patterns to our Design System, alongside the rest of the UX department, and the GitLab community as a whole.
Projects you might work on in our Compliance group:

You’ll spend your time at GitLab collaborating with a cross-functional team. You may work on features that bring compliance checks into merge requests, a dashboard to give users insight into their overall compliance controls, or even build features that enable code to be audited, traceable, and reported on. To be successful, you’ll consider many edge cases while understanding the needs of a wide range of personas across a breadth of industries. Outside of work on our compliance tools, you’ll also contribute to our Pajamas design system and design culture here at GitLab.

      You should apply if:
      • You’ve got experience designing developer tooling, enterprise software, or complex web applications that are built for technical users.
      • You’ve got some experience designing compliance experiences, or knowledge of the compliance industry.
      • You’ve got experience working on product strategy and product design for a complex enterprise application or SaaS tool.
      • You enjoy getting involved in research and usability testing, and you continually look to improve your user research abilities.
      • You want to design for a complex product with technical users who have continually evolving needs.
      • You’ve got experience applying your product design skills across user research, UX strategy, wireframing, prototyping, product strategy, and visual design, within a complex domain.
      • The idea of playing a key part in the evolution of our Pajamas Design System is truly exciting to you.
      • You understand frontend code or the limitations of frontend technology. You can demonstrate this through your hands-on coding skills with HTML/CSS/JS, your knowledge of Git, or by showing us you have a deep understanding of the needs of engineers you’ve worked with previously.
      • Our values of collaboration, results, efficiency, diversity, iteration, and transparency resonate with you.
      • You'll thrive in an environment where self-learning and self-service is encouraged and instilled as a part of our culture.

The culture here at GitLab is something we’re incredibly proud of. Because GitLabbers are currently located in over 60 different countries, you’ll spend your time collaborating with kind, talented, and motivated colleagues from across the globe.

Some of the benefits you’ll be entitled to vary by the region or country you’re in. However, all GitLabbers are fully remote and receive a "no ask, must tell" paid-time-off policy, where we don’t count the number of days you take off annually. You can work incredibly flexible hours, enabled by our asynchronous approach to communication. We’ll also help you set up your home office environment, pay for your membership to a co-working space and contribute to the travel costs associated with meeting other GitLab team members across the world. Also, every year or so, we’ll invite you to our Contribute event.

      Hiring Process and compensation:

Our hiring process for this Product Designer position typically follows five stages. The details of this process, the expectations for Product Designers and Senior Product Designers, and the compensation for this role can be found in our job family page.

      Education

Education is compulsory, but where you got it is irrelevant for us! We are looking for someone who has worked in a similar role (or roles) for at least 3 years, and can show us examples of their work. We are not looking for a newbie, nor are we looking for a rockstar, we are looking for a mid to senior level developer who wants to both learn and contribute to our team.

    • Summary

We're Happy Cog (formerly Vector Media Group), a full service interactive agency that works on a wide variety of projects. Lots of those projects are made with Craft CMS: we're an official Craft Service Partner and have built some of the largest and most complex Craft sites out there. We've also been the Craft conference (Dot All) platinum sponsors for 2 years in a row.

While we already have a number of Craft developers on our team, we're looking for more. We’re a growing, distributed team of 65+ people headquartered in Manhattan's NoMad District with great clients (like Google, Airbnb, Twelve South, Etsy, The Associated Press, New York City, St. Regis, Columbia University, and WPP) and an incredible roadmap.

Our projects vary in size and often include features and functionality that go beyond traditional brochure sites with a simple CMS. We integrate our client’s sites with a variety of systems, services, and APIs, such as e-commerce, search engines, CRMs and marketing automation tools, digital asset management systems, ERP systems, and more.

We're hiring versatile developers who can work in a variety of platforms and languages. We look for experienced and well-balanced developers who have broad skill sets. The focus of this role is on backend development, writing custom Craft (or other CMS and platform) plugins and other code that integrates external APIs and systems. You should be comfortable with frontend skills like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS as well.

You’ll be working on 3-4 projects at any time; typically one larger project and a few smaller projects to keep things fresh. We’re a fast-paced agency with a great team environment, so you’ll never get bored. We need someone who loves keeping up-to-date on the newest advancements in the field and can figure out when to start applying those advancements to client work. You'll work with other smart developers who can help you grow and challenge you, as well as help you along the way. You’ll also be communicating directly with clients and with our project managers to understand their requirements and present your work. Your job will be fun, challenging, and interesting.

      Responsibilities Will Include
      • Building new applications, websites, and features with a variety of platforms including Craft CMS, Laravel, and more.
      • Contributing to high-level architecture planning, consulting with our internal team on approach and level of effort, directing more junior developers.
      • Flexing your muscles on aspects of application development outside of app code: database modeling, query optimization, setting up efficient logging and monitoring solutions, and other advanced requirements for highly functioning apps (you do not need to be a DBA/Systems Administrator/DevOps expert).
      • Working closely with our front-end and back-end development teams on website projects. We’ll want and expect your input on the best ways to structure the build — from start to finish.
      • Writing and maintaining clear documentation of your work, so that others on the team can pick up where you left off or learn from your experience on a project.
      • Staying up-to-date on the latest development technologies and methodologies.
      Requirements
      • Deep knowledge of PHP and web application architecture (experience with other languages, such as Python, Ruby, Node, etc. are a plus as well)
      • Previous Craft CMS (or Expressionengine, Drupal, WordPress, other PHP-based CMS) experience
      • Previous MVC framework experience, Laravel is strongly preferred.
      • Ability to understand user behavior and intent, and use this information to build intuitive apps and websites for our clients.
      • Knowledge of Git, we use it on all projects.
      • Experience with AWS services is a plus.
      • Ability to work and collaborate on a team with others.

      We offer
      • A creative environment to do the best work of your career.
      • An amazing team of developers, designers, marketers, project managers, and the occasional four-legged office pet.
      • Lunch paid for by the company, every day, via your own Seamless accounts (for on-site employees).
      • Flexible hours.
      • Flexible paid vacation policy.
      • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance.
      • Retirement plan with company matching.
      Join Us!

If you’re interested please apply as soon as possible, attention Jeremy Gimbel. Examples of your real-world work are more important than a perfect resume. If you worked on a project with a team, please tell us which parts you were responsible for.

    • HappyPorch (European timezones)

BEE (https://beefree.io) - MailUp Group’s Business Unit that develops and markets a popular drag-&-drop email builder - is looking for a Customer Support Engineer to join the team in North America.

      Your impact

As a Customer Support Engineer, reporting directly to the Support & Community Manager of the business unit, your role will be to help in the adoption and use of BEE Plugin, the embeddable version of our email editor. Over 500 software companies around the world have already decided to license and embed BEE instead of developing their own drag-n-drop editor because by doing so they save time, money, and all the complexity of creating & managing a new product.

      Your core responsibilities will be:

      • Assist prospects in the discovery of BEE Plugin features, at a technical level.

      • Help new customers in the implementation of the editor within their SaaS application.

      • Support existing customers when their support requests are escalated to you.

      • Help the development team by performing technical troubleshooting on those escalated tickets.

You will carry them out by:

      • Becoming an expert user of BEE Plugin, the embeddable version of the BEE editor.

      • Becoming very familiar with the sample code that prospects use to build Proof Of Concepts with BEE Plugin, and contribute to the code base, whenever able to do so.

      • Becoming intimately familiar with - and a contributor to - BEE Plugin technical documentation, which helps prospects understand the potential of the product & build prototypes with it, and helps customers implement the software in their SaaS applications.

      • Identifying and troubleshooting issues that prospects and new customers are reporting while integrating BEE Plugin, resolving as many as you can on your own, and escalating them when needed to the engineering team as bugs, or to the product team as product feedback.

      • Interact with prospects and customers remotely through a variety of channels used by the company, which include: phone calls, video calls, Slack chats, support tickets (Zendesk), threads in the Community portion of our Web site, questions posted to the technical documentation site, and more.

      • Collaborating with the Sales, Support, Development & Product teams to deliver a user experience to our prospects and customers that’s as seamless as possible.

      • Providing the product and engineering team with continuous feedback, which includes opening detailed bug reports in the bug tracking system (JIRA).

      What we offer

BEE stands for "Best Email Editor" and that's the original, ambitious goal chosen for this project. Made with lots of passion between the United States and Italy, BEE is becoming a standard for digital content creation, starting with emails (“beautiful emails, fast”, is one of our tag lines). The editor is used by hundreds of thousands of people every month at beefree.io and embedded in over 600 SaaS applications.

When you join our company, you can expect:

      • Full time work in a fast growing, exciting project with worldwide recognition as a market-leader in our industry.

      • A dynamic team, geographically dispersed (Italy, USA), working with a startup mindset.

      • Flexibility: trust is one of our values and we strongly believe in results and in the continuous feedback culture.

      • Yearly team retreat, often in Italy (in 2019 the BEE team retreat was here).

      • Many opportunities for professional development through your daily exposure to marketing-leading products, and also through access to online training resources (free, unlimited course subscription to Udemy) and offline events (attendance to conferences, etc.).

      • Competitive salary plus incentive-based compensation.

      • Health insurance benefits;

      Bonus points:

      • Completely fluent in a second language. Languages we're currently targeting include: Italian, French, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, and Danish. If you are fluent in one of these languages please highlight this information when you apply!

      -- Reports - inv.tech/reports

      Who are we?

      We are Invisible’s Marketing Team.

      We Believe That

-- Exponential gains from systems > Short term linear work > Systems for systems sake

-- Consistent feedback is key - we are addicted to learning and getting better

-- What one of us knows, all of us should know

-- Every new mistake is a learning opportunity

Because of these beliefs, we’ve built a team where

-- Distributed approaches and centralized intelligence merge. Each teammate is constantly innovating and trying something new. Every mistake is prevented by all. Every success is learned by all.

-- Each of us contains the sum of the knowledge, intelligence, and creativity of our entire team.

-- We evolve and mutate constantly like an organism, identifying successful and problematic tactics and incorporating ideas from any source.

      Who We Want

Our graphic marketing designer will have the critical role of helping us articulate the Invisible Brand. We are building a revolutionary product for our customers that will change the future of work. We are seeking someone able to put the Capital ‘D’ in design that will be represented across digital and print channels. This will be an exciting opportunity to manifest a future-brand that is breath-taking and remarkable – a true portfolio builder -- with a team of marketers working to build a compelling story about how Invisible is going to change the world.

-- Marketing Designers who care as much about the invisible parts of the platform as the visible.

      -- Polymaths and independent thinkers

-- Systems thinking - Design isn’t just how something looks — it’s how it works. You will care deeply about the problems you solve with design.

-- Craftsmanship - Deliver results with pace and quality

-- Teamwork - A culture where personal and team growth thrive and we become better every single week

-- Growth - Tenaciously improve yourself day after day at an exponential rate, and bring the company with you

      Specifically, a Marketing Designer will

-- Coordinate marketing details related to B2B/B2C marketing, advertising, video marketing, online marketing, email marketing and social media marketing

-- Own and maintain the Outreach visual brand and create standards that are used across Marketing and Creative teams

-- Conceptualize creative and inspiring design concepts for multiple mediums including web, mobile, video and print

-- Create visual assets for both print and digital, including print materials, website design, display advertising, videos, trade show/event materials, internal SWAG (t-shirts, buttons, stickers, etc) and brand templates for decks, docs, and campaigns

-- Help to create our “design voice,” both visually and conceptually.

-- Extend our brand and visual identity across the company by collaborating with Product, Customer Success, Sales and Recruiting to support their initiatives with beautiful, compelling design

-- Grow the Marketing team’s knowledge of best practices and trends in graphic design

-- Build and evolve our visual identity through active iteration over the components in our pattern library

-- Become better every day by committing to learn new technologies and consider new solutions to old problems

      Requirements

-- Experience designing email marketing campaigns

-- You have a portfolio of visually consistent and relevant brand, advertising and growth marketing work, across various channels including email, web, mobile, and print

-- A demonstrated foundation of control over typography, composition, information hierarchy, color theory, pacing, visual design systems, interaction design

-- You have industry or agency experience for diverse projects and clients and a proven track record of improving conversion rates

-- You have a strong understanding of design principles including layout, typography, psychology, and HTML/CSS

-- You are able to collaborate closely with product managers, teammates, and other designers to ensure campaign and strategic goals are met

-- A commitment to collaborative design

-- Experience with Figma is a plus

What to expect if you join our mission

-- You will work on the most important problem - We always solve the most important problem and prioritize to make effective use of our time.

-- You will never do the same thing twice - Do it once, learn, systematize, automate, upgrade. We are exponential.

-- You will never work on a problem that should have been prevented - Prioritize, execute, and prevent future problems.

-- You will systematize or document most things - Creating systems checks if you really understand what you're doing, allows others to analyze for improvements, and means the entire team upgrades together.

-- You will make mistakes - That’s okay. This is how we learn. Prevent the mistake from happening again.

-- You will be empowered and encouraged to act with creativity - We have no limits. Every team member is empowered to upgrade our collective intelligence with new ideas. Act with moxie. Act with creativity. Act with inspiration.

      Our Culture

“The culture is imbued with romantic capitalist values. These are just a few:

      • heroism (be insanely ambitious, you should want your boss’ job, you have a moral obligation to seek power and use it for good, the modern knight fights abstract dragons),

      • challenge (welcome adversity, struggles and suffering, steel yourself for the worst, challenge problems to a duel, seek the widest possible stage for your talents, identify and solve for the biggest problem you can find),

      • meritocracy (create and measure the value you create, strive to be the best),

      • ownership (you are the CEO until told otherwise),

      • collaboration (solving problems together benefits everyone),

      • competition (if you outperform you will be rewarded),

      • glory (do the great work of your life, here and now, the work that you were made for, and that you will be remembered for — seek your aristeia moment),

      • truth (seek the truth, express yourself freely, confront problems head on, be as transparent as possible, don’t hide the bad and the ugly, stand up for your opinion by engaging in debate, change your mind when you’re wrong), and

      • intensity (work HARD, don’t waste time, the more fully you absorb yourself in your work, the more aggressively you work, the better you work).”

      Reporting

As Marketing Designer, you are the “CEO of Marketing Design”.

You will report to Nerissa Sardi (VP of Marketing).

      Join Our Team

“Do it because you want to do something on the edge of hard and impossible. Do it if you are the unstoppable force seeking an immovable object. You want to see what you’re made of. Do it if you want to test your limits: your ability to create order in chaos, to operate under extreme stress, to achieve impossible goals…

Do it because you personally want a synthetic intelligence. Do it because you want to solve the biggest problem in the world: wasted time. Do it if you want humans to spend less time doing robotic jobs, and more time being creative and strategic.”

So what do you say, will you join us?

We believe validating your code should be automated and repeatable, and most of all, easy. We believe in pushing the boundaries of best-practices, and bringing these to every developer, so that doing the right thing is also the easy, default way of working.

We know there are a million things we can and want to improve about GitLab's support for continuous integration. It'll be your job to work out what we are going to do and how.

We work in quite a unique way at GitLab, where lots of flexibility and independence is mixed with a high paced, pragmatic way of working. And everything we do is in the open.

We recommend looking at our company page and the product handbook to get started.

      Responsibilities
      • Drive the product in the right direction
        • Build an effective roadmap to prioritize important features properly

        • Consider the business impact, ROI, and other implications when taking important decisions
      • Take an active role in defining the future
      • Manage the product lifecycle end-to-end
        • Follow feature development end-to-end; provide guidance and feedback to engineers and designers; ensure everyone is aligned
        • Be the voice of the customer and the subject-matter expert for your group
        • Contribute to documentation, blog posts, demos, and marketing materials for product features
        • Collaborate with other Product Managers, UX, and engineers in cross-area features to build a single application
        • Manage the uncertainty in an efficient way, adjusting plans to new working conditions
      • Engage with stakeholders in two-way communication
        • Assist Sales, Support, Customer Success, and Marketing as the subject-matter expert for your area
        • Talk to customers and engage with the community regularly
        • Engage with analysts on briefings and product evaluations
        • Work with the entire Product team to share improvements and best practices

      • A team of engineers: you will take the lead in decisions about the product, but not manage the people implementing it
      • Capacity planning: you will define priorities, but the Engineering Manager evaluates the amount of work possible
      • Shipping in time: you will work in a group, but the group is responsible for shipping in time, not you
       Requirements
      • Experience in product management
      • Strong understanding of Git and Git workflows
      • Knowledge of the operations tool space
      • Strong technically: you understand how software is built, packaged, deployed and operated
      • Passion for design and usability
      • Highly independent and pragmatic

      About The Role

You will be responsible for championing the features and benefits of the Close sales platform through our marketing messaging and market positioning. You’ll work closely with Danny (Director of Marketing) and our motley crew of marketing crushers.

    • This Senior Product Designer position for our CI/CD team is 100% remote.

      A brief overview:

GitLab is building an open source, single application for the entire software development lifecycle—from project planning and source code management to CI/CD, monitoring, and security.

As a Senior Product Designer at GitLab, you will be embedded in our CI/CD group. It’s a highly visible and technical area, where you’ll be tasked with improving the onboarding flow for users who are new to our CI tools, building on the vision for CI, and bettering the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery features found within the GitLab product.

What you can expect in a Senior Product Designer, CI/CD role at GitLab:
      • You’ll be tasked with improving the experience of using our CI and CD tooling. The work you’ll do will be impactful and visible to many of our highly technical users.
      • You’ll collaborate with a Product Manager to define the priorities, roadmap, and overall strategy for the future of CI within our product.
      • You'll work alongside Product Managers and UX Researchers to understand the needs of DevOps teams to shape how CI tools are utilized within our product.
      • You’ll come together with our Technical Writers to better our CI and CD documentation and in-product content.
      • You’ll collaborate with our embedded engineering team to uncover and understand the complexities and limitations of in-product CI at GitLab, advocating for the end user in all areas, including on-boarding, ease of use, and visualization of key messaging.
      • You’ll contribute best-practice pipeline and other CI/CD patterns to our Design System, alongside the rest of the UX team, and the GitLab community as a whole.
Projects you might work on in our CI/CD group:

You’ll spend your time collaborating with a cross-functional team. You could expect to work on improving the experience of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, refining the onboarding flow for new CI/CD users, building on our capabilities to integrate 3rd-party tools with GitLab CI pipelines, or designing a visual editor for GitLab CI yaml files. Beyond this, you’ll be building out a UX strategy for GitLab CI. You’ll consider many edge cases while understanding the needs of a wide range of personas, and you'll work within the technical constraints of our CI/CD product. Outside of work on CI/CD, you’ll also contribute to our Pajamas design system.

      You should apply if:
      • You’ve got experience designing developer tooling or complex web applications that are built for highly technical users.
      • You’ve got some experience designing CI/CD experiences, or knowledge of CI/CD best practices.

Because GitLabbers are currently located in over 51 different countries, you’ll spend your time collaborating with kind, talented, and motivated colleagues from across the globe.

We’ll also help you set up your home office environment, pay for your membership to a co-working space and contribute to the travel costs associated with meeting other GitLab employees across the world. Also, every year or so, we’ll invite you to our Contribute event.
