      About Us

At Close, we're building the sales communication platform of the future. With our roots as the very first sales CRM to include built-in calling, we're leading the industry toward eliminating manual processes and helping companies to close more deals (faster). Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a profitable, 100% globally distributed team of 43 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

Our backend tech stack currently consists of Python Flask/Gunicorn web apps with our TaskTiger scheduler handling many of the backend asynchronous task processing. Our data stores include MongoDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis. The underlying infrastructure runs on AWS using a combination of managed services like RDS and ElasticCache and non-managed services running on EC2 instances. All of our compute runs through CI/CD pipelines that build Docker images, run automated tests and deploy to our Kubernetes clusters. Our backend primarily serves a well-documented public API that our front-end JavaScript app consumes.

We ❤️open source – using dozens of open source projects with contributions to many of them, and released some of our own like ciso8601, LimitLion, SocketShark, TaskTiger, and more at https://github.com/closeio

      About You

We're looking for an experienced full-time Software Engineer to join our engineering team. Someone who has a solid understanding of web technologies and wants to help design, implement, launch, and scale major systems and user-facing features.

You should have senior level experience (~5 years) building modern back-end systems, with at least 3 years of that experience using Python.

You also have around five years experience using MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, or similar data stores. You have significant experience designing, scaling, debugging, and optimizing systems to make them fast and reliable. You have experience participating in code reviews and providing overall code quality suggestions to help maintain the structure and quality of the codebase.

You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a small and talented team where you're supported in your efforts to grow professionally. You are able to manage your time well, communicate effectively and collaborate in a fully distributed team.

You are located in an American or European time zone.

      Bonus points if you have...

      • Contributed open source code related to our tech stack

      • Led small project teams building and launching features

      • Built B2B SaaS products

      • Experience with sales or sales tools

Come help us with projects like...

      • Conceiving, designing, building, and launching new user-facing features

      • Improving the performance and scalability our API. Help expand our GraphQL implementation.

      • Improving how we sync millions of sales emails each month

      • Working with Twilio's API, WebSockets, and WebRTC to improve our calling features

      • Building user-facing analytics features that provide actionable insights based on sales activity data

      • Improving our Elasticsearch-backed powerful search features

      • Improving our internal messaging infrastructure using streaming technologies like Kafka and Redis

      • Building new and enhancing existing integrations with other SaaS platforms like Google’s G Suite, Zapier, and Web Conferencing providers

          • Litmus provides a suite of email creation, testing and analytics tools, trusted by over 250,000 marketers. We’re a tight-knit team that is passionate about helping the world make email better.

We're looking for a Ruby on Rails developer to help expand our product line, improve our existing products and help build the next generation of Litmus tools, while continuing to provide exceptional support to our growing customer base.

What would I do at Litmus?

A typical day for one of our developers might include:

            • Collaborating within our Rails team, and reviewing code to help everyone on the team do their best work.

            • Writing and refactoring code in our Rails app, as well as in our JavaScript code, our Ember app, our Sass stylesheets, and wrapping all that work up inside Git.

            • Talking with our Design team to figure out the best way to present a new feature to our customers.

            • Working with our Product team to understand product and marketing goals, and work out a good path to implementing them.

            • Working with our .NET team to integrate with our internal APIs.

            • Working with customer support to investigate and fix bugs.

What's it like to work in engineering at Litmus?

You'd work alongside a team of smart, curious people working on challenging problems. We're a motley crew of developers with a diverse set of skills and backgrounds. Most importantly, we're supportive of one another; we work as a team to enable each other to do our best work.

"Best work" can mean a lot of things. We care about testing, and apply that through a mix of unit, integration, and acceptance tests. That diligence allows us to ship early and often through an automated continuous integration and delivery process. We're also strong believers of using the right tool for the job. We lean heavily on Rails and the traditional request/response web lifecycle for most of our work. That said, we reach for component frameworks like Vue when there's a clear benefit, and we've implemented full client-side MVC/SPA when the product demanded it. We give our team members the time and space to learn and apply these and other tools correctly. We share our knowledge with each other on a regular basis through pairing, PR reviews, and team talks.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

            • You have a well-founded understanding of Ruby and Ruby on Rails. We won't limit to ‘x’ years’ experience, but you should be able to impress us with your app building skills, confident use of Ruby and Rails, and understanding of web development. We're happy to introduce you to the other technologies we use.

            • You have product experience. In your work, you think and care about what really matters to customers, and about their experience of our product and company.

            • You have good communication skills. As a distributed team, it’s important that we're able to understand each other, through text or the spoken word, and talk at the appropriate level of abstraction. You communicate clearly and with empathy, whether you’re discussing refactoring options with a developer, or working with a designer to understand user experience.

            • You write clean, thoughtful code. Our code is the home that we live in every day. You enjoy putting effort into crafting understandable and well-tested code, to make everyone’s shared development experience more enjoyable.

            • You are eager to collaborate, learn and teach. Our Engineering team is friendly and supportive of each other, and we look for opportunities to learn from each other’s experience.

What are some of the benefits offered at Litmus?

We offer everything you'd expect from a financially successful and profitable startup, with the stability of a company that's been going strong for ten years.

            • Great salary, comprehensive health care benefits, and a generous retirement plan match.

            • 28 days of paid vacation — that’s on top of team retreats and public holidays.

            • Family friendly. Flexible schedules along with generous maternity and paternity policies.

            • Remote friendly culture. You'll join a completely distributed engineering team, and will benefit from the first-class remote experience we've created—giving you the flexibility to work where you want, with all of the tools and resources you need to succeed.

            • The best tools and technology money can buy. Top of the line hardware, software, and whatever else you need to be awesome.

What is the hiring process like?

We're accepting applications for this role until Monday, April 6th at 5pm EDT. After reviewing applications, successful candidates will go through the following steps:

            • Initial interview. In a relaxed, Slack/text-based chat, you’ll meet the hiring team, tell us about yourself, and learn more about Litmus and this role in particular.

            • Sample project. We'll ask you to complete a time-boxed exercise on your schedule as an example of your best work. Your code, commit history, and resume will be anonymized and passed to the engineering team for review.

            • Follow-up interview. You'll meet with the hiring team on a Zoom call to discuss your sample project, share context around decisions made along the way, and chat about other technical topics.

            • Final round. Spend a day pairing with your hiring manager on extensions to your sample project, and meet some of our engineering leaders and the rest of our Rails team over Zoom! We communicate with candidates at every step of the process, letting them know if we'll be moving forward, and what they can expect in the next phase.

            Who is Litmus?

Backed by $49M from Spectrum Equity, the Litmus email creation, testing, and analytics platform empowers marketers, designers, and agencies to confidently deliver customer experiences that ensure brand alignment and quality, as well as maximize performance and deliverability.

            What you'll do

Core Infrastructure plays a fundamental role in both our on-premise infrastructure and our efforts to upgrade infrastructure towards AWS. As an infrastructure engineer you will be part of implementing the infrastructure to support the continued growth of Scribd's foundation. You will be part of the team which manages our existing on-premise datacenter, while helping service owners move into a newer AWS-centric model. You will help in this shift from a traditional operations organization into a services-organization which provides key components to our backend technology stack such as: container orchestration infrastructure, logging services, monitoring and alerting patterns, caching layers, and relational/non-relational clustered data storage. You and your team will educate developers and help delegate traditional operational responsibilities to teams which are already taking an increased level of ownership of their production environment. Sharing your experience and good judgement will be crucial to helping these teams scale their services operationally for years to come.

            Required Skills
            • Strong written and verbal communication skills (we're remote!)
            • Mentoring skills: experience with training and educating teammates or colleagues on contemporary operational best practices.
            • Infrastructure engineering passion
            • Experience with infrastructure as code tools and thoughts about their respective strengths and weaknesses
            • Software development background, for example: familiarity with git and common software development practices, ability to write tests, and being capable of reading and understanding the code in order to participate in the code review process.
            • Positive attitude! Operations can breed cynicism and we can only succeed with a shared belief that we can solve the hard problems.
            • Ability to lead deep technical design discussions within your team, and across partner teams.
            Desired Skills
            • Strong understanding of AWS platform services and their strengths/weaknesses.
            • GCP or Azure experience is also good
            • Experience managing clustered data applications
            • Experience working to improve 24/7 on-call rotations, reducing alert fatigue and improving automation
            • Experience with datacenter or major cloud migrations.
            • Ability to read code written Ruby or Python
            • Ability to write code in Go and Bash
            • Ability to debug YAML :)
          • We are Givelify®, where fintech meets philanthropy. We help people instantly find causes that inspire them to action so they can change the world—one simple, joyful gift at a time.

We are looking for a Principle Software Engineer with over 10+ years of experience to join our team with a "lead the charge" attitude. Why is Engineering at Givelify Different: Moonshots are our norm. Our product impacts real people on the ground. We build with passion and maintain a high standard of engineering quality. We solve unique scalability challenges and you will have the ability to help guide all aspects of Engineering and Product Development.

Some of the meaningful work you will perform:

            • PHP/Python: You will need to have strong object-oriented design and development skills and advanced knowledge of PHP, Python or similar programming languages. Knowledge and experience with third party libraries, frameworks, and technologies is a plus.
            • Database: You will need to have strong SQL composition skills. Knowledge of big data and NoSql databases is a plus! We not only write software that collects and queries data, but we also compose queries for investigation and analysis. We collect a lot of data in real time from our applications and being able to compose ad hoc queries is necessary to develop and support our products.
            • Guidance: Participate in and guide engineer teams on all things technical – Architecture definition & Design ownership that not only include technology but Data Security aspects, Deployment & Cloud strategy, CI/CD, as well as coding best practices.
            • Analysis & Problem Solving: You will need to understand our codebase and systems and the business requirements they implement so you can effectively make changes to our applications and investigate issues.
            • Communication: Whether via face-to-face discussion, phone, email, chat, white-boarding, or other collaboration platforms, you must be an effective communicator who can inform, explain, enable, teach, persuade, coordinate, etc.
            • Team Collaboration: You must be able to effectively collaborate and share ownership of your team’s codebase and applications. You must be willing to fully engage in team efforts, speak up for what you think are the best solutions, and be able to converse respectfully and compromise when necessary.
            • Knowledge and Experience: A well-rounded software engineer will have broad and/or deep knowledge of various topics, tools, frameworks, and methodologies related to software engineering. None are required, but the more you can bring, the better. Here are some examples:

            • Laravel, Yii and similar frameworks
            • Strong API knowledge and development
            • Git and GitHub
            • Big Data solutions such as Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and Elastic Search

We’ve created the solution for the persistent pain that reps aren’t sending the right messages, to the right people, at the right time despite the three to six sales point solutions they use each day.

We’re trying to build a healthy, values-driven culture. We want to be:

            • Optimistic: We see an amazing future ahead, and want to inspire others to share in it. This is both internal—building each other up and looking for the best in people—and external—we know open source is awesome, and we want to make it even better.
            • Practical: We know words and ideas alone won’t change lives. We help people most by creating a pragmatic, viable, and sustainable business that works for everyone. So we care about usability, design, and honest assessment of costs and benefits.
            • Additive: We want an environment that encourages and inspires growth, both for individuals and for the open source community as a whole. That means embracing a growth mindset, and valuing culture add over culture fit.
            • Inclusive: We believe technology will be stronger when it better reflects the voices and ideas of society as a whole. So we want people from different backgrounds and experiences to not just be represented, but to be heard, valued, and flourish. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment.

          • Our Mission

In 2017, immigrants worldwide sent over $600 billion home to family and friends, dwarfing foreign governmental aid. In the age of cheap, quick transfers through services like Paypal and Venmo, these people are trekking to stores to pay fees averaging over 7% for transfers that typically take 24 hours or more.

Sendwave's mission is to change that by making sending money anywhere in the world as easy and affordable as sending a text. Since 2014, our app has allowed users in North America and Europe to send money instantly to mobile money wallets in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria (and soon Bangladesh and Senegal) saving our users over 70% relative to Western Union and MoneyGram.

We're looking to rapidly expand throughout the globe in the next year. That's where you come in...

How you'll help us achieve it

Delighting our users is a core value at Sendwave. We are looking for a User Protection Support Representative who will provide our new users from the Senegalese diaspora (as well as our other diaspora communities) with a seamless experience as they begin to use Sendwave. User Protection Support Representative responsibilities include helping our users submit identification documents to fulfill compliance and regulatory requirements, ensuring users are sending funds to legitimate counter-parties, and helping users to complete their first transactions. If you’re familiar with providing stellar customer service and have a passion for preventing fraud, we’d like to consider you! Ultimately, you will make sure our users feel their information is secure and that they made the right choice in using Sendwave for their remittance needs!

            In this position you'll:

            • Learn Sendwave processes and culture to ensure that you can provide every user the stellar experience they deserve.

            • Assist new users via inbound calls, outbound calls, texts and emails with various issues related to the onboarding process in both English and French.

            • Complete the verification process for all new users, determining if they will be allowed to transact with Sendwave.

            • Complete the verification process for users requesting to raise limits.

            • Use our anti-fraud tools and verification systems to keep fraudsters off our platform.

            • Participate in trainings & team meetings.

Skills you'll need to be successful:

            • Ability to make high-quality decisions quickly, while being comfortable with sometimes making the wrong call.

            • Enthusiastic about speaking with users (and fraudsters) to conduct verifications and ensure that legitimate users have a positive experience.

            • Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Specifically, ability to balance being firm and decisive in the event you are speaking to a fraudster with being empathetic when speaking to legitimate users and borderline cases.

            • Natural curiosity. A desire to keep after a problem until you understand what is going on.

            • Ability to track fraudster patterns as they morph.

            • Fluency in both French and English is required.

            Requirements:

            • Ability to commit to a full time schedule (40 hrs per week)

            • Ability to work at least one weekend shift per week (Saturday or Sunday) every week.

            • Ability to work assigned shift, as we are open 24 hours per day/7 days per week.

            • 2+ years of customer service experience, some call center experience required.

            Who We Are

Process Street is a SaaS platform that helps companies manage their processes and workflows to make recurring work fun, fast, and faultless. We are a lean, flexible, 100% distributed team that relies on systems to improve output 10X. Process Street is backed by leading investors, including Accel, Salesforce, and Atlassian.

A distributed team means freedom and flexibility: All 40-plus of us work wherever we’d like—reliable internet access is our only requirement. Spread across 9 time zones in 10 countries, we sign into Slack and open up our work tools on the schedule that fits our lives best. We communicate asynchronously, work autonomously, and take ownership of our work. Distributed work isn’t for everyone, but if it fits your management style, it’s a life-changing benefit.

Camaraderie from afar: Being 100% distributed doesn’t stop us from getting to know each other— we have daily conversations in chat, weekly “coffee” pairings with coworkers, and once a year we all come together for an all-team retreat.

Our values: As a small, nimble company, we want our employees to feel empowered to make decisions and define the future of our company, so our values include:

Rainforest is searching for a head of Finance, reporting directly to the COO, and sitting with the CEO and COO for all key strategic decision-making.

We’re building our business a little differently, and we’re looking for someone who is excited by our particular vision: stay small and IPO. We want to get to IPO revenue, growth rates, and margin, while staying under 200 people. To do this, our core operating principle is ‘nail with people, scale with software.’ We expect every member of our team to build operational leverage not through hiring humans but through creativity, software and outside services.

There are few roles more critical to delivering this vision than our finance leader, and the right person will be excited to be a critical part of doing something that has never been done before. We are looking for an ambitious, ‘high slope’ finance leader who will help join us on this journey from where we are today all the way to IPO.

            • Assist management team in communication with board and external stakeholders
            • Facilitate ad-hoc and cross-functional strategic and operational projects and execute on strategic projects independently and with Business leaders
            • Analyze revenues, expenses, and monthly actual to ensure accuracy and perform variance analyses to ensure financial performance of the business
            • Partner closely with accounting team to ensure deep understanding of financials and deliver accurate financial reporting
            • Provide detailed analyses on trends that will assist in decision making and corporate planning
            Requirements:
            • 6+ years experience in finance for a rapidly growing software company (ideally SaaS or a business with a subscription component), with clear title progression and outperformance at each level
            • Demonstrated experience owning the model, driving and delivering the right metrics to stakeholders, and driving strategy while balancing the near-term needs of the business against longer-term financial and strategic goals.
            • 2+ years experience in strategic finance in a large public software company
            • Ability to work independently, think creatively, manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

          • About Us

Mokriya takes software seriously. We’re pragmatic crafters who believe in smart and focused development, building clients’ products just as we do our own: investing heavily in design, iterating rapidly to validate and falsify ideas, and pursuing perfection in every interaction. We learned a lot of interesting things along the way about the right way to ship software, and we're now bringing our incredible software product experience to larger companies like Verizon, Google, Intel, Twitter, Sony, L'Oréal— and we do this all with a fully distributed team.

We believe that well-made software can change the world, no matter how small or simple a product might be. We also believe that poorly-made software —badly-designed, badly-developed, or badly-supported— is a preventable tragedy.

Mokriya’s mission is to make great software: for ourselves, for our clients and most importantly for our users.

            About You

You love to build. When you're not at your job, you're probably tinkering on some contraption in the basement or figuring out how to take apart . You get a thrill from figuring out a clever way to solve a problem. You are a good software tester with strong programming fundamentals and you really take pride in knowing the ins and outs of the programming languages and libraries you are working on. You are a product-focused Engineer that cares about details and—this is obvious—you take pride in your work.

If this sounds like you, and you've been working on Scala, you should apply. We strongly encourage and are proponents of diversity.

Why should I be excited to work here?

First, it’s fun. Not in the “everyone pretend to have fun, we’re a startup, where are the Nerf guns?” way, either. It’s fun to work at Mokriya because beyond the perks and good times, we’re a happy team of people who love to design and build great products. It’s not just that we have a great organizational structure in which everyone is really empowered to act; it’s also that we hire for fit and bring in folks only if we’re confident in their integrity, capability, and drive.

No one will watch over your shoulder, and you won't have to spend time watching over anyone else's either. We’re a talented team of doers. There’s little bureaucracy, and we hate blocking. Our product managers spend their time making sure you can get things done in the way that best suits your preferences and the project needs.

Autonomy, creativity, thoughtfulness, trust: if you care about those things, you'll be happy here. And more importantly, we'd be honored to hire you.

You will be embedded into CircleCI's growth practice. The growth practice is four teams spanning Product and Engineering. Each growth team is led by a product manager and supported by an analytics lead (that’s you!).

Growth teams deliver measurable improvements to our product experience. To do so, they collaborate across CircleCI’s entire organization, including product, design, and marketing as well as application and data engineering.

            What you’ll do:
            • Be a brilliant analyst: Turn business problems into research plans. Leverage data from the data lake, data warehouse, third parties, and source systems. Work confidently with clean and messy data. Aggregate, clean, and explore. Soundly use statistics and probability. Tell compelling stories. Build impactful visualizations. Present insights to peers and executives. Drive action and outcomes. Turn repetitive analyses into dashboards.
            • Lead analytics for a product team: Partner with product managers. Brainstorm ideas, experiments, hypotheses, and roadmaps. Collaborate to fully understand context, needs, vision, and outcomes. Ask smart questions. Set team goals. Define, document, monitor and forecast KPI. Perform root cause analyses on key metrics. • Understand our product and customers: Analyze product features, journeys, and life cycles. Drive conversion, engagement, and efficiency across our funnel. Focus on activation, monetization, engagement, and retention. Identify customer characteristics and behaviors. Improve segmenting and cohorting.
            • Leverage a growth toolkit: Define the models, paths, and loops of growth. Identify and prioritize opportunities for incremental improvements. Work in cycles of build, measure, and learn. Define, implement, and interpret A/B tests and other experiments. Educate stakeholders on statistical validity.
            • Build a growth practice: Scale success. Celebrate fast failure. Mature from one-off tactics to repeatable processes. Define best practices. Embrace not just quantitative, but qualitative; not just analytics, but creative thinking. Define requirements for data engineering to improve data, automation and analytics capabilities.
            What we're looking for:
            • Three years of analytics experience: At least three years of analytics experience. Prior experience in an analytics role specifically focused on product or growth is highly preferred
            • Experience at a high-growth company: Analytics experience with high-growth businesses. Ideally, those with well-defined, product-enabled funnels and complex, high-volume customer flows.
            • Technical education: A bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Finance).
            • Proficiency across analytics tools: Deep experience with analytical SQL queries (e.g., inner/left/right joins, CTEs, and window functions). Some experience with scripting within a notebook environment, preferably using Python, Pandas and Jupyter. A desire to grow your modeling, machine-learning, and data-science skills. Familiarity with basic statistics (e.g., distributions, experiments, significance testing, and linear regression).  Experience with a major analytics/visualization platform (e.g., Tableau or Looker).
            • Proficiency across growth tools: Productive with growth tools. Specifically a product or events analytics platform (e.g., Google Analytics, Amplitude or Segment) and an AB testing tool (e.g., Optimizely or  VWO).

Effective communicator across technical and business audiences.  Able to manage stakeholder expectations and work with hands-on executives. Entrepreneurial; fast-moving; able to balance vision and execution; and not easily discouraged. Instinct for value, and focused on the incremental.
