      About the Position

      As a key member of the Security team, you will work with various teams on application, infrastructure, corporate security and everything adjacent. Although you will not be coding every day, a software engineering background is essential to discuss architecture and code reviews with the Engineering team.

      Key responsibilities:
      • Continuously conduct security assessments on our internal assets and existing and future products.
      • Build and deploy security automation and tooling to verify and further increase our security posture.
      • Manage our vulnerability management program and work with the relevant teams to prioritize remediation efforts.
      • Build processes to ensure that security is part of our engineering DNA.
      • Manage secure coding training across the teams.
      Ideal Candidate
      • Experience in application and infrastructure security, especially in cloud environments.
      • Experience with secure software development lifecycles, from threat modelling to code reviews.
      • Knowledge of container security and orchestration.
      • Experience with several programming languages such as Go, Ruby, and C/C++.
      • A demonstrated ability to empathize, collaborate, and communicate across teams.
      • Ability to work across multiple time zones with remote colleagues.
      • 3 or more years experience working as a full-time application or infrastructure security engineer.
      • BONUS: exposure to compliance audits such as SOC 2, ISO 27001 and PCI.

      About the role:

      This management role will oversee the product design team which includes Product and UX Designers. In this role, you will have individual contributors reporting to you. You will need to help hire and grow the team.

      You should love helping your team grow and develop, taking care of their professional growth needs as well as quality of day-to-day work life, being an advocate for their work and developing a strong sense of direction.

      You'll be a confident leader with the ability to facilitate conversations and decision-making within the team. You'll be responsible for setting, tracking and communicating metrics around work output and goals.

      In addition to people management responsibilities, you will need to establish a hiring process for the Product design and research. You will focus on building a happy, healthy and diverse team.

      You will work help develop metrics for your function that represent their work and contributions.

      We have a small headquarters in San Francisco but we are a largely distributed engineering team, so remote applicants are welcome.       HASH is seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to spearhead the build of its open-source simulation platform.

      We're looking for somebody who can create beautiful visuals and functional, well conceived interfaces for the web and mobile. You’ll be familiar with designing and documenting complete design systems and their component parts.

      We place a strong emphasis on user-research, learning from clients, competitors, past projects and present stakeholders to inform the scope of our work.

      You’ll demonstrate look, feel, content, hierarchy, and layout through sketches, wireframes and designs – picking and choosing the appropriate tools for each project.

      You will be working directly alongside the company's CEO and CTO (both experienced digital product creators), alongside a team of frontend engineers, and over time your role may expand to involve leading a team of specialist contractors.

      • Share findings with our team and explain how that will affect your design decisions

      • Stay informed on the latest UI/UX techniques, tools, and patterns and integrate best practices into design projects

      • Work with developers to iterate on and refine the current user experience

      • Assist the Creative Director with the creation and maintenance of UX documentation

      • QA test product features when needed

      Qualifications

      • 5+ years of design experience on a successful product team, preferably at an education organization

      • Portfolio of visually pleasing, intuitive, and efficient user experiences 

      • Demonstrable experience defining the “why” and “how” of a project with inquisitive and design thinking mindset

      • Proven ability to balance the needs of users with the needs of an organization

      • Ability to gather and create requirements for creative new user flows
