      The market, problem & vision

We live in the age of SPAM. The two main sources of it are recruiting and sales. Why can’t the good companies and good employees just find each other? Why can’t businesses just sell to happy clients?

It boils down to competition - companies fight for the best talent and for the best clients. Some throw piles of money at external agencies, some try to abuse the contacts of their staff. The SPAM is just a side-effect of a process designed to minimize the cost - but ending up inefficient and expensive in secondary costs.

Every industry veteran will tell you one thing - the best deals and the best hires are not made by ‘solutions’ - they are made by people. People with vested interest in the success of the business they work with. Today, these people are locked in a contract, bring in a ton of business and get a small cut. Or they are spammed for favors, help occasionally and get nothing for it.

And they hate it. In 2019 in the UK alone there were 8,450 new recruiting agencies started by top recruiters leaving their jobs and setting up solo or in small groups. Sales staff deals with this by doubling the churn rate compared to any other role, always hunting for a fairer commission.

On top of that, there are people who have much better access to talent than recruiters and better access to clients than sales staff - but they are left untapped. Why wouldn’t a tech company collaborate on recruiting directly with a talent pool built around an open source project? Why wouldn’t a SaaS business distribute through folks who offer training workshops in the relevant vertical?

At its core, this is a coordination problem. As a company: How do I find and on-board all these external partners? How do they learn about what I need and how do I weed through and prioritize what they send me back? How do I identify and fairly pay the ones who deliver value?

Primeflow is our answer to these questions, enabling companies to work with external partners who make recruiting and sales happen.

      The product

Primeflow enables companies to set up direct acquisition channels through scalable partnerships with external contributors. Our pilot has a mix of growth companies who look to recruit a lot, b2b businesses who want to sell through ecosystem partners and VCs who want to coordinate their startup scouts.

At the heart of Primeflow is it’s reputation engine powered by a layered dataset of:

      • demand & supply data

      • relationship linkage

      • transaction data

While managing the coordination between companies and their partners, we build a clear picture of what is being requested & delivered, between which parties and at what price.

This reputation engine powers an efficient user experience, helps the users establish new business based on their previous track record and ensures that people get rewarded based on their merit. And it’s also what will make Primeflow defendable and valuable in the long run.

      You

You are a proactive maker, hungry to build something big.

You are a versatile engineer, up to speed with modern web technologies, engineering practices & devops. You will appreciate our automatic push pipeline, have a thing to say about our system architecture and pull your weight in our stack of Angular/NodeJS/GCP.

You also want to be immersed in the product process, talk to customers, brainstorm solutions and have a voice in the direction of our product and our company.

But most importantly, you want to make stuff happen, grow personally and be rewarded fairly.

Frontastic is looking for a Partner Manager (f/m/*) as full-time employee.

      ABOUT US

We're a fast-growing startup founded in 2017 to bring APIs into better human interaction. We offer a cloud platform accelerating teams to create mobile-first frontends for the API economy. We're doing this as a 100% remote native company: currently 28 people from 8 countries in Europe (and counting).

      ABOUT THE ROLE

As Partner Manager you are the connection pillar between our partner community and Frontastic. You will work closely with the executives, the sales departments and developers of existing and potential business partners and agencies in order to generate joint business. You have a background in partner management in the Software as a Service industry and ideally a deep understanding of the E-Commerce industry. You are communicative and love to talk to C-Level and decision-makers of potential partners on equal terms.

      WHAT YOU'LL DO

      • Partner with sales to drive partner sourced referrals and effectively co-sell with agency partners.

      • Lead and collaborate with the Frontastic marketing and product teams to develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies (new integrations, new features, new markets) with new and existing partners.

      • Responsibilities include working with and communicating across multiple team functions within Frontastic and within partner organizations.

      • Work with partners to drive joint marketing initiatives through events and other marketing campaigns.

      • Work with the partners to develop partner success metrics, including specific KPIs that drive customer adoption and revenue growth for both Frontastic and the partner.

      • Work closely with the Frontastic product and client success teams to ensure smooth on-boarding experiences and servicing processes of acquired new customers using partner integrations via the Frontastic platform.

      • Deliver compelling capabilities demonstrations of the Frontastic platform and address high-level technical questions, serving as a subject matter expert around how customers use Frontastic to build seamless user experiences.

      • Act as a primary point of contact/product owner for solution and partnership.

      • Plan, organize, lead, and control balanced revenue growth, continued customer awareness and customer satisfaction with a long term, multiyear focus.

      • Serve as a role model, source of inspiration, and coach for less experienced peers.

      • Partner with leadership in cultivating an environment of teamwork, openness, creativity, and continuous improvement.

      • You may speak at meetups and conferences

      WHO YOU ARE

      • You reside and work in Europe

      • You have good writing and communication skills in English

      • Speaking German is an advantage (but not necessary), as we currently have a large share of German customers.

      • You're an experienced partner manager in the software industry or worked in direct sales roles for at least 3 years.

      • You're experienced in the e-commerce industry.

      • You understand business partner and customer requirements and problems and are able to translate them into product features

      • You know what to prioritize, creatively solve complex problems, and use data to make decisions. You have a deep level of knowledge about how businesses work, keep up with relevant practices and trends, and know the competition.

      • You are a great salesperson with sales methodology knowledge. Your extensive experience will allow you and others to skillfully negotiate wins internally and externally while maintaining strong relationships.

      • You have a passion for getting things done, carry out responsibilities with minimal direction, enjoy working hard, are full of energy for challenges, and seize opportunities more than others.

      • You can relate technical benefits and constraints of a platform to business requirements and are willing to embrace problems by non technical shareholders and incorporate their requirements.

      • You have an open and honest personality with a good sense of humour and a confident appearance

      • You're good at networking and getting in touch with others quickly

      • You have a well-structured working style and are used to managing many projects at the same time.

      OUR VALUES

Our team strives to constantly improve itself following these values:

      • Make an Impact: We’re here to change the industry and we’re in it to win it. We’re incredibly focused and our main focus is on customer success. We boldly go out of our comfort zones, we support each other and we love doing what we do.

      • Thirst for Learning: We’re addicted to learning and we learn from everything. We embrace our failures as they’re something we can learn from and only help us to improve. We think differently and we know that change is good. We’re curious and innovation leads the way, we're constantly on the lookout for new ideas that can help our customers (and the world).

      • Diversity Rules: We’re proud to be a diverse team spread across the world. We empower the under-represented and we build a safe community for everyone to be themselves while holding each other to account when needs be. We use asynchronous communication as we’re a remote company and need to be aware that we’re not always online at the same time.

      • We're In This Together: As colleagues, with our customers, and with our communities, co-operation and collaboration is key. We help one another as much as we can and we care for each other. We celebrate our successes together and we strive to find the right balance in our lives.

      • Transparency First: We make all information as public as possible and we’re direct (as well as truthful) in all our communications. We don’t just explain what we’re doing but why we’re doing it. This is how we create positive relationships and move forward together.

      HOW WE WORK

We're a 100% remote-native company. We make intensive use of tools like Slack or video conferencing. We try to find a good balance between focused work and communication or in other words between asynchronous and personal communication.

We don’t have fixed expectations regarding working hours and it's normal for us to be able to take care of private matters during the day - e.g. visits to the doctor or picking up children from school.

We meet four times a year in person: one five-day retreat and three two-day retrospective focused meetings.

      COMPENSATION

For this particular job we are offering to pay between 80.000 € to 100.000 € based on experience and skills. Optionally you can get Virtual Shares from our Virtual Shares Options Program (VSOP) as part of your compensation. In addition, we offer 28 vacation days and €200/month co-working stipend. Since we currently work from 9 different countries (and counting), it's very difficult to offer consistent  benefits beyond that. We strive to find a good balance between local laws and conventions, and a general fairness. And we're always open to your suggestions.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

If this job sounds interesting to you, please try to point out where you match to our requirements in a short tweet-style "why-me" to [email protected] and have your CV attached. Do you still have questions? Then don't hesitate to get in touch via the same address!

      ABOUT THE ROLE

The management and administration of Frontastic sees itself as an internal service provider. We try to bring a very high benefits with as little effort as possible. What is Business Development at Doist?

The Business Development team is responsible for all third party partnerships, contracts, sponsorships, customer development, sales related activities, and managing revenue focused programs we build internally. Our mission is to support the internal Doist teams, and ensure that we’re collectively hitting our revenue goals and north star metrics - often by exploring initiatives that are considered to be “outside the box”. We create partnerships and co-marketing campaigns to enhance brand awareness and encourage new user signups, and manage internal projects that drive new revenue streams. Additionally, we occasionally work closely with some of our customers to ensure smooth onboarding, create special offers, and conduct user research to assist the product teams. Business Development wears a lot of hats and collaborates with nearly all internal teams and our 3rd parties, so strong “soft skills” are necessary to thrive on this team.

      Your role:

As a Business Development Junior at Doist, you’ll have the opportunity to be a big part of a small yet quickly growing team. In this role, you’ll have an immediate impact on the company and can help shape the evolution of the Business Development department. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Development, you’ll be the primary point of contact for some of our largest customers, our 3rd party service providers, and our co-marketing partners. Additionally, you’ll review sponsorship opportunities and assist with the development of our partnership, sales and channel marketing strategies. You’ll also have the opportunity to interact with various designers, engineers, marketers and the support team.

Your communication skills, both written and oral, as well as your ability to identify incredible opportunities for revenue creation, are some of your greatest assets. You have an eagerness to learn and a willingness to assist where ever needed. The opportunity to “wear many hats” excites you.

To thrive as a Junior Business Developer at Doist:

      • You have 1+ year of experience in business development, marketing, sales, customer success, project management, customer development, or similar.

      • You have experience delighting customers with thoughtful & empathetic customer service

      • You have excellent communication skills, written and oral, and are capable of presenting them in a clear and concise manner in a live environment

      • You are genuinely excited about the opportunity to learn on the job and willing to lend a hand wherever needed

      • The phrase “maximizing ROI” motivates & excites you

      • You’re data informed and familiar with SaaS metrics and terminology such as ARR, MRR, CLTV, churn, etc.

      • You’re a creative and confident self-starter that thinks outside the box. You don’t wait for directions, but instead take the initiative to create your own projects.

      • You’re passionate about subjects such as SaaS, productivity, startups, and remote work, and would feel comfortable working with 3rd parties associated with these topics.

      • You have experience conducting in-depth research and analysis, and summarizing and presenting your findings

      Requirements

      A complete application includes:

      • A resume or manually entered experience (you can choose your preference).

Join one of our product teams and develop features with real value to a one-of-a-kind product management system used by 2000+ global companies. Join a team that's redefining what product management systems can be.

      Our Tech Stack

productboard's stack is a Ruby on Rails backend built by passionate Rubyists with React.js on Typescript on the frontend. Over time with demand, we've added new technologies to support the growing needs of the team, both in complexity and traffic. We're running Elasticsearch to power our Insights search, we are fully migrated to Kubernetes on AWS to enable an event-driven service architecture, we're using Kafka to let services communicate together asynchronously and resiliently.

We are also exploring to use Typescript more and more on the backend as well. However, we don't see our Ruby development slowing down anytime soon.

You'll be expected to work on everything from the above, but we're not expecting deep knowledge in all of it. We strive to build up everything backed by code and reliable pipelines which will get you on track at lightning speed. We're always open to changes that can make us better!

We work in small cross-functional teams that usually consist of 3 developers, a designer, and a product manager. You’ll be part of the whole feature development lifecycle. You’ll see all the feedback we collected from our customers and you will be encouraged to come up with your ideas or objections.

      About you

As a core member of our team, you care about solving real problems for real users. Coding, to you, is more art than mechanics and analytical thinking comes second nature.

You like communicating with frontend or product management and you always keep the end-user in mind.

      • 2+ years of experience building backend systems

      • Experience with some parts of our tech stack is always welcome (messaging, AWS, k8s, Typescript, SPAs)
      • Your code is clean and well tested, you own development from discovery to production deployment

      • You love to learn and constantly improve your own skills and are not afraid to jump into new things
      • You could win a debate on tabs vs. spaces conducted entirely in English (we have an international team and are successful at keeping discussions in English)

      • You live in Europe – as it's important for us to have the team in pretty much the same timezone

      Remote

At productboard, we recently started building fully remote teams. It is, therefore, possible to join us as an engineer while being (almost) 100% remote. The expectation is that you will travel to Prague roughly every six weeks to collaborate with your remote team members in person, while also meeting other team members and learning more about the productboard culture. If you're interested in taking on this position remotely, make sure you tick off (most of) these requirements:

      • You’re self-organized and disciplined
      • You have amazing communication skills
      • You know how to make sure everyone on the team feels included
      • Nice to have: previous experience with remote work

      About productboard

productboard is the product management system of choice for everyone from Avast and Microsoft to rising stars like Metromile and Envoy. In addition to our recent $45M Series-B, Forbes Magazine named productboard 2019's most valued startup of the Czech Republic.

      • We are backed by top Silicon Valley investors, giving us access to capital, networks, mentors, and markets
      • You’ll enjoy an exciting team atmosphere building a new and complex product
      • We iterate quickly and decisions are fast. You’ll have a voice in what we do and see the impact of your work
      • We have modern offices in Prague and San Francisco. Expect occasional travel to the US

      Perks & Benefits

You'll join a diverse and talented team, with plenty of opportunities for personal growth, impact, and learning.

      Stock options
MacBook Pro or notebook of your choice + 34″ monitor
Budget for online courses, books and conferences
5 weeks of vacation and sick days
Free snacks, drinks, and yummy catered lunches every day
MultiSport card to access sports facilities in Prague.
Team events, such as happy hours, off-sites, and retreats
Flexible working hours and home office
      Language lessons
Opportunity to travel to San Francisco
Compensation for travels and co-working spaces

      Culture

Our culture is one of trust and openness, free of workplace politics, and hasty decisions.

Thoughtful and transparent collaboration is a value that's integral to our founding principles. For us, success is a team sport, so it's important you're a team player.
    • Snowplow Analytics (UTC +/- 5)
London or remote (UTC +/- 5)

At Snowplow, we are on a mission to empower people to differentiate with data. We provide the technology to enable our customers to take control of their data and empower them to do amazing things with it.

There are tens of thousands of pipelines using our open source pipeline worldwide, collecting data emitted from over half a million sites. Running on AWS and GCP data technologies, it is ideal for data teams who want to manage their data in real-time and in their own cloud. We also collect, validate, enrich and load up to 5 billion events for our customers each day and help them on their Snowplow journey through our management console.

      The Opportunity

Snowplow has seen significant growth over the last 6 months and we’re set to grow further in 2020. We are looking for a Scala engineer to join our experienced team and extend the capabilities of our management console.

The team’s mission is to improve the onboarding of customers and empower them to derive more and more value from their Snowplow pipeline over time. To enable this through the UI, we are building Scala services to expose pipeline metrics, configuration and controls to our UI and directly to our customers.

You will be joining a team of 12 engineers who work closely with our tech ops, support, product and customer teams. There is plenty of opportunity to learn more about all aspects of engineering and data, from code to customers.

We love working with people who jump at the opportunity to own challenges and are dedicated to building a great team and product!

      What you’ll be doing.

      - Designing and building services that power our management console, which is where our users can view pipeline health, make configuration changes, manage schemas and in future find workflows that help solve the people/process challenges around data governance and meaning.

      - Continuing to improve our testing and deployment processes so that we can ship features quickly and with confidence.

      - Working closely with our Product Office and the wider team on building the best solutions for our customers.

      - Being an active part in decision making on what we build and how we deliver it. You’ll bring a different perspective and we’ll want your input!

      You’ll also have:

      - Opportunities to work on the React and TypeScript powered UI.

      - Opportunities to contribute to our many open source projects and extending the capability of our data pipeline.

      What we’re looking for..

      - The idea of working for a growing startup excites you.

      - You have experience working collaboratively on complex engineering projects.

      - You have experience with Scala most importantly, but JavaScript would be a bonus. Our data security and integrity are fundamental to what we do. You’ll need a solid understanding of security threats and how to overcome them.

      - Previous experience in data is a plus, but most importantly you’re interested in data and how it can empower our customers to make better decisions.

      - You don’t wait to be told what to do. You can accept a mission, drive toward it and recognise when you need support or more direction.

      - We can’t do everything today. You’ll be pragmatic in your approach to software delivery and balance our speed of learning with our commitment to providing a reliable and trusted service to customers.

      - Our remote team depends on expert collaborators to work effectively. You’ll be a great communicator and enjoy working closely with the team.

      What you’ll get in return.

      - A competitive package based on experience, including share options.
      - 25 days of holiday a year (plus public holidays wherever you’re located).
      - Freedom to work from wherever suits you best. We trust our team to find the right environment for them to do their best work.
      - Two fantastic company Away-Weeks in different European cities each year (last one was in Bratislava in November 2019).
      - Grow and develop in a fast-moving, collaborative organisation full of supportive and talented people.
      - Convenient location in central London (specifically Shoreditch) for frequent collaboration or occasional visits, depending on where you’re based.
      - A high spec MacBook or Dell XPS 13/15.

Snowplow is dedicated to building and supporting a brilliant, diverse and hugely inclusive team. We don't discriminate against gender, race, religion or belief, disability, age, marital status or sexual orientation. Whatever your background may be, we welcome anyone with talent, drive and emotional intelligence.

    • Litmus provides a suite of email creation, testing and analytics tools, trusted by over 250,000 marketers. We’re a tight-knit team that is passionate about helping the world make email better.

We're looking for a Ruby on Rails developer to help expand our product line, improve our existing products and help build the next generation of Litmus tools, while continuing to provide exceptional support to our growing customer base.

What would I do at Litmus?

A typical day for one of our developers might include:

      • Collaborating within our Rails team, and reviewing code to help everyone on the team do their best work.

      • Writing and refactoring code in our Rails app, as well as in our JavaScript code, our Ember app, our Sass stylesheets, and wrapping all that work up inside Git.

      • Talking with our Design team to figure out the best way to present a new feature to our customers.

      • Working with our Product team to understand product and marketing goals, and work out a good path to implementing them.

      • Working with our .NET team to integrate with our internal APIs.

      • Working with customer support to investigate and fix bugs.

What's it like to work in engineering at Litmus?

You'd work alongside a team of smart, curious people working on challenging problems. We're a motley crew of developers with a diverse set of skills and backgrounds. Most importantly, we're supportive of one another; we work as a team to enable each other to do our best work.

"Best work" can mean a lot of things. We care about testing, and apply that through a mix of unit, integration, and acceptance tests. That diligence allows us to ship early and often through an automated continuous integration and delivery process. We're also strong believers of using the right tool for the job. We lean heavily on Rails and the traditional request/response web lifecycle for most of our work. That said, we reach for component frameworks like Vue when there's a clear benefit, and we've implemented full client-side MVC/SPA when the product demanded it. We give our team members the time and space to learn and apply these and other tools correctly. We share our knowledge with each other on a regular basis through pairing, PR reviews, and team talks.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

      • You have a well-founded understanding of Ruby and Ruby on Rails. We won't limit to ‘x’ years’ experience, but you should be able to impress us with your app building skills, confident use of Ruby and Rails, and understanding of web development. We're happy to introduce you to the other technologies we use.

      • You have product experience. In your work, you think and care about what really matters to customers, and about their experience of our product and company.

      • You have good communication skills. As a distributed team, it’s important that we're able to understand each other, through text or the spoken word, and talk at the appropriate level of abstraction. You communicate clearly and with empathy, whether you’re discussing refactoring options with a developer, or working with a designer to understand user experience.

      • You write clean, thoughtful code. Our code is the home that we live in every day. You enjoy putting effort into crafting understandable and well-tested code, to make everyone’s shared development experience more enjoyable.

      • You are eager to collaborate, learn and teach. Our Engineering team is friendly and supportive of each other, and we look for opportunities to learn from each other’s experience.

What are some of the benefits offered at Litmus?

We offer everything you'd expect from a financially successful and profitable startup, with the stability of a company that's been going strong for ten years.

      • Great salary, comprehensive health care benefits, and a generous retirement plan match.

      • 28 days of paid vacation — that’s on top of team retreats and public holidays.

      • Family friendly. Flexible schedules along with generous maternity and paternity policies.

      • Remote friendly culture. You'll join a completely distributed engineering team, and will benefit from the first-class remote experience we've created—giving you the flexibility to work where you want, with all of the tools and resources you need to succeed.

      • The best tools and technology money can buy. Top of the line hardware, software, and whatever else you need to be awesome.

What is the hiring process like?

We're accepting applications for this role until Monday, April 6th at 5pm EDT. After reviewing applications, successful candidates will go through the following steps:

      • Initial interview. In a relaxed, Slack/text-based chat, you’ll meet the hiring team, tell us about yourself, and learn more about Litmus and this role in particular.

      • Sample project. We'll ask you to complete a time-boxed exercise on your schedule as an example of your best work. Your code, commit history, and resume will be anonymized and passed to the engineering team for review.

      • Follow-up interview. You'll meet with the hiring team on a Zoom call to discuss your sample project, share context around decisions made along the way, and chat about other technical topics.

      • Final round. Spend a day pairing with your hiring manager on extensions to your sample project, and meet some of our engineering leaders and the rest of our Rails team over Zoom! We communicate with candidates at every step of the process, letting them know if we'll be moving forward, and what they can expect in the next phase.

      Who is Litmus?

Backed by $49M from Spectrum Equity, the Litmus email creation, testing, and analytics platform empowers marketers, designers, and agencies to confidently deliver customer experiences that ensure brand alignment and quality, as well as maximize performance and deliverability.

Major global brands across every industry and vertical trust Litmus to make email better, including 9 of the top 10 ecommerce brands, 7 of the top 10 technology companies, and 23 of the top 25 US ad agencies.

    • Impala (Western Europe)

      Hello!

Thanks for taking a look at the job description for a Chief Architect at Impala. We felt a little bit impersonal just throwing you right in there with words like “revolutionizing” and “disrupting”.

As such, we want you to know that the person that wrote this job description apologises in advance for any clichés, startup tropes or sudden-insecurity-driven-panic-attacks that you might find in the description below.

      What is Impala now?

Impala makes building travel software incredibly easy. We provide hotels with a powerful data management platform that makes connecting to software, hardware and room distributors extremely easy. Think Twilio for Travel.

We launched in January 2019 and since then have grown at - quite frankly - a ridiculous pace. Our technology is already installed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, on six continents and categorises more than 1 billion data points.

We are a growing team of exceptional people split across engineering, product and commercial that have built a fantastic, remote-but-far-from-distant community.

      Where is Impala going?

We’re supported by some of the best investors in the business, the early stage backers behind Deliveroo, PillPack, SecretEscapes, Zoopla, Trivago and more. They’re on board because of our vision - revolutionizing a $1.6 trillion dollar market that’s been out-of-date for 20 years.

Within the next two years, 25% of hotel bookings worldwide will flow through Impala technology and the product that we’re building will empower the entire ecosystem of travel technology (we already have over a thousand companies signed up).

Anyone travelling anywhere will interact with products powered by Impala and to achieve this we’re growing the team to 50 people within the next year. So now is the most exciting time to be joining Impala as we go through a large push to scale up!

A brief overview of what you’ll be up to in this role:

As chief architect, you will act as the technical authority in a top-tier engineering team, ensuring that our technology can meet both immediate and future needs. You will report to (and work alongside) our VP of Engineering.

Technology sits at the heart of our business, which makes this a pivotal role with key responsibilities:

      • You will lead on technology strategy & prioritization, managing short term technical risks and long term investment in our stack
      • You will be accountable for technical quality at Impala, including the reliability, security, and extensibility of our services and data
      • You will ensure that monitoring, metrics and SRE practices are in place across all teams and services, to measure and meet high service SLA’s / expectations
      • You will be the direct leader of an enablement group, which provides specialist  technical/DevOps/SecOps support to our development teams
      • You will provide technical direction and mentorship across teams to support the development of individuals

      You should join us if:

      • You have 10+ years of relevant and diverse product and engineering experience, with a period of executive-level responsibility at an organization with a strong engineering culture
      • You are an expert in the architectural design, development, and operation of large scale, high availability services
      • You have demonstrated experience with modern web services, distributed service-oriented architectures and services that handle large quantities of data, across multiple different stacks.
      • You aren’t afraid to get hands-on when necessary to demonstrate an approach / principle
      • You are comfortable leading and mentoring teams and individuals

Where in the world will you be working?

This is a remote position. This means you can work from anywhere +/- 2 Hours of London, timezone wise (and less than a 3 hour flight). We are a remote-first company, our whole engineering team is fully distributed! This was a very deliberate choice to prioritise work-life balance and ensure we’re able to accommodate the best people in Europe. We have loads of remote initiatives to ensure you’re fully setup!:

      • We have a dedicated Remote Experience Manager in the team, who, amongst other things, will be ensuring you're happy, integrated and empowered whilst working remotely.
      • We will give you a brand new high-spec laptop when you start, giving you the choice between a Thinkpad or Mac.

Please note, we only accept candidates in Western Europe because of timezone and travel time differences. We make no exceptions (we don’t have time to!).

      • We put our money where our mouth is when it comes to investing in your development - you’ll have access to a generous yearly learning budget to help you realise your potential.
      • We offer all engineers a Weekly Recess Hour. This is an hour to take off and step out from work and invest in You Time! Lawn mow, yoga, walk or movie anyone?

      • You’ll travel once a quarter to meet the rest of the team in an engineer colocation week, somewhere in Europe.
      • You’ll have a Social Budget to travel to/from & stay in London for a night, for our monthly Impala Social.
      • You’ll have a generous Friend & Family Budget, to get your close friends and family over once a year.

    • Prezly (2 hours of CET)

Important: although this is a fully remote role, we only accept candidates that are within 2 hours of CET (Central European Timezone). Applying outside of that is a waste of your (and our) time.

I made a video about our company and the job

Prezly is looking for a backend (PHP) developer to boost our capacity in creating a world with more meaningful communication between organisations and people. Working closely with a product designer, the founders and builders to craft high-quality, impactful, and inclusive user experiences for communication experts all around the world.

      About Prezly

Good stories, told well to the right people, can inspire and spark positive change in the world. That’s why at Prezly, we’re building state-of-the-art storytelling tools for stellar brands.

Since our founding in 2010, we've grown to become a profitable, 100% globally distributed team of ~16 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

      About the technology

Our services are built around a core of PHP (symfony), postgres, React with millions of people per day using some aspect of the system. On the backend side we use a Symfony fork (https://github.com/e1himself/symfony1), Propel (http://propelorm.org/) and interact with a Postgres (RDS) database.

We're big believers in devops/CI - building, testing, and deploying to any of our environments are as simple as pushing a commit to a git branch. The infrastructure is containerised, built on top of AWS using Kubernetes.

We're a technology company first: This means that in addition to product and business development plans, we put emphasis on continual improvement of our stack and infrastructure. Current projects include API'ing our full application suite and removing redux.

      About the backend role

We are looking for a backend engineer with deep understanding of PHP (Symfony) and best practices when it comes to application development. Bonus points for experience with our specific stack.

You should have senior level experience (~5 years) building modern back-end systems, with at least 3 years of that experience using PHP.

You will work on a variety of projects, mostly around the core Prezly product. Your work will ship continuously so you will have a direct impact in our customers’ experience and the overall trajectory of the business.

As our new teammate, you’ll be self-driven and work hard to bring value to your new company in the most effective way possible. You’ll work hard to make those around you better, communicate clearly, and make Prezly a better company.

I made a video about our company and the job

      • 5+ years of professional full stack development experience.
      • Expertise in PHP, React, CI and javascript
      • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
      • Team-oriented person who loves to collaborate and communicate
      • Bonus points for:
        • Leadership role at a startup. Proven ability to mentor / manage engineers and drive a product forward.
        • Knowledge of containerisation, k8s, dev-ops, and AWS.

      You will get

      • Competitive salary

      • Great tools: What would Batman be without his utility belt? He’d still be badass. But you get the point. At Prezly you’ll get to choose your own gear.

      • Flexible hours: There’s a life outside of work. That’s why our distributed team works from where they want, when they want. And they get tons of work done.

      • Unlimited vacation time: We evaluate on value, not on time spent behind desks. Employees can take as many holidays as they need. This way they bring their A-game to the job.

      • Visits to Leuven: A few times per year the entire team gets together in the office in Leuven, the world’s capital of beer. We’ll fly you in so you can have fun with the team.

    • We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the team dedicated to driving Gatsby’s open source project. Join us in our mission to make website development fun by making it simple.

      About us

Gatsby is a remote-first, community-focused team working to build a high-performance, fun to use, accessible, and astonishingly flexible presentation layer for any data source. Our core values include transparency (our work is public most of the time); creating a safe, high-trust team; building incredible developer experiences; maintaining a healthy working environment; and helping deliver web experiences that feel amazing to use on every device and connection type.

      Details of the role

Type of Work: Full-time employee Location: Remote

      Why we need you

Gatsby is the future of the web, and the web is an incredibly diverse ecosystem. This means we need leaders who can intuitively appreciate the value that the commercial services we build offer customers. The open source team is expanding rapidly and we need someone with a deep understanding of the very cool technology, but an equally profound sense of empathy required to grow both individual contributors and future leaders in this critical part of our company.

      Why this is interesting

Gatsby is a wildly popular open-source framework that is changing the architecture of the web. The open-source team is responsible for driving the roadmap for the large and complex codebase that is Gatsby.js. Between their own contributions and the community, they merge nearly 500 pull requests in a typical month. You’ll help lead the team in not only tackling key technological challenges, but also bolstering and focusing community contributions.

      Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for people, projects, and processes. You will partner with your team and peers to:

      • Foster an inclusive environment through empathy, not just inside engineering, but across all the teams in Gatsby, and beyond to the open source community.
      • Wrangle many timezones and introduce remote work best practices, as you will lead a geographically diverse team.
      • Exercise good judgement in interacting with the enthusiastic community, as an exemplar for your team in this area.
      • Partner with Product and Design to find the best blend of quality, agility, and work/life sanity.
      • Make sure your team is fully equipped for their job, including:

        • Context - make sure they know what is happening outside engineering
        • Vision - make sure they know what it coming next, even if we’re not there yet
        • Skills - ensure that each team member grows and feels confident in delivery
        • Tools - choose and evolve the dev environment (with the team’s input)
        • Processes - hand-in-hand with tools, make sure that we’re continuously evolving our planning and dev approach to have just enough structure to keep us on track
        • Empower your team members by offering them clear ownership of technical challenges in a world where you and other leaders are still wearing many hats and finding the ones with the best fit.
        • Collaborate with other engineering managers to evolve the management practices at Gatsby. We’re all learning more every day!
This might be you if you….
      • Have successfully managed people, including recruiting and hiring, coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and promoting.
      • Have experience working with (and ideally contributing to, or managing) open source communities and products.
      • Have strong communication skills, verbal and written.
      • Genuinely enjoy helping people, both inside the company and out.
      • Have a consistent track record of delivering high-quality software in regular, iterative releases through coordinating a remote team.
      • Are able to coordinate and work with teams and stakeholders across the organization, and even beyond the company, including effective project management skills in an environment where you may not control many of the variables.
      • Have previous experience with React, Node.js, and GraphQL. Gatsby is built on React, Node, and GraphQL, so you should be experienced with usage and the syntax.
      • Have strong empathy and a willingness to define the nuances of team roles (including your own!) as you go.
The best parts of this job
      • The people and culture of a team genuinely invested in building something great.
      • You’ll be helping curate one of the most popular, fastest growing open source frameworks in the world.
      • You’ll be leading a group of supportive, talented, and friendly people towards delivering a great framework and developer experience.
      • You’ll have the opportunity (even expectation) to constantly learn and innovate, in both tech approaches and process definition.
      • Your role will be key to making Gatsby the next way to build on the web—and a technology that enables the next billion internet users.
      • You will get to look back on this time as the “early, exciting days” of Gatsby. You’ll get to watch members of your team become future leaders and luminaries in a space that isn’t fully defined or formed yet.
The worst parts of this job (maybe)
      • The community and our team aren’t always operating as equals, and don’t always have perfectly aligned motivations. Your job includes the unenviable task of helping us figure out the right focus in a variety of complex situations, and with a wide range of (understandable, but sometimes mutually exclusive) community expectations.
      • We’re all still figuring a lot of stuff out. Things can feel unstructured or messy. Part of your job is to smooth out what we collectively don’t like. And that can be hard.
      • The company is growing fast, which means lots of people wearing lots of hats, and sometimes exchanging them for new ones. Doing this while protecting a team (or individual’s) sense of ownership and security is hard. And it’s part of this job. Sorry.
      • Product and strategic direction can change. We’re building a whole new area of growth in an absolutely huge potential market. Absorbing (and/or pushing back as you see fit) that change so your team doesn’t feel unnecessary churn is also hard. And also part of this job. Still sorry.
      Benefits
      • Unlimited vacation policy, with a minimum of 15 days paid vacation time
      • Amazing health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family (US only)
      • Skip the commute with remote work
      • 3 months of paid parental leave covering both adoption and foster placement
      • Fly to cool locations 3x/year for company-wide meetups
      • Stock options in a fast-growing startup
      • Gatsby Sabbatical: 4 weeks of paid vacation after 4 years tenure
      Equal Opportunity Statement

Gatsby is an equal opportunity employer. We eagerly seek applicants of diverse backgrounds and hire without regard to race, color, gender identity, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, physical abilities (or disability), age, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Cultivating inclusivity and diversity is a top priority.

Headhunters and recruitment agencies may not submit resumes/CVs through this website or directly to managers. Gatsby does not accept unsolicited headhunter and agency resumes, and will not pay fees to any third-party agency or company that does not have a signed agreement with Gatsby.

Tidelift is the largest provider of commercial support and maintenance for the community-led open source software behind modern applications. We partner directly with independent project maintainers to make it safer and easier to build with open source, so engineering teams can create even more incredible software, even faster.

We're well-funded and growing fast. You will play a large role in tackling challenging problems and helping build the company, while learning alongside our experienced team.

Find out more about us on tidelift.com or read about us in Wired or Business Insider.

      The role

Your work will help Tidelift to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, strong renewals, and growth within the account base.

You will work closely with existing customers to discover their technical challenges and business objectives, and then help them use Tidelift to achieve their goals. You will also own the process of working with our sales team to get new customers onto the platform and using the product. Finally, you will work with our product, engineering, and marketing teams to share your experiences and help us improve our product.

      What you'll do:

      • Work with customers to integrate Tidelift’s managed open source analysis into their build and deployment pipelines
      • Coach customers to be product experts and train their teams on Tidelift methodologies so they become increasingly self-sufficient
      • Bring what you learn from customers back to the rest of the organization to improve the experience for everyone.

You could be a great fit if you have these or similar experiences (even if you only have a few of these attributes, please feel confident applying anyway as we are quite flexible):

      • 3 - 5+ years of experience in a customer facing technical role
      • Experience designing and implementing repeatable customer success processes from the ground up

      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
      • Self-motivated and proactive team player

       Our values

We’re trying to build a healthy, values-driven culture. We want to be:

      • Optimistic: We see an amazing future ahead, and want to inspire others to share in it. This is both internal—building each other up and looking for the best in people—and external—we know open source is awesome, and we want to make it even better.
      • Practical: We know words and ideas alone won’t change lives. We help people most by creating a pragmatic, viable, and sustainable business that works for everyone. So we care about usability, design, and honest assessment of costs and benefits.
      • Additive: We want an environment that encourages and inspires growth, both for individuals and for the open source community as a whole. That means embracing a growth mindset, and valuing culture add over culture fit.
      • Inclusive: We believe technology will be stronger when it better reflects the voices and ideas of society as a whole. So we want people from different backgrounds and experiences to not just be represented, but to be heard, valued, and flourish. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment.

      Logistics

In this role, you would have the option to work remotely from the US or from our offices in Boston, MA or Raleigh, NC.

We believe in the urgency of our mission and the importance of doing good work, but also know this is a marathon and not a sprint. Hours can be flexible within reason if necessary to meet personal needs (like child, medical, or elder care).

      Compensation, benefits, and career

Compensation is competitive with other Boston-area startups, including health insurance, flexible vacation, 401(k), short-term disability, parental leave, and equity.

      Company Overview

Tesorio is a high-growth, early-stage startup backed by some of the Bay Area’s most prominent Venture Capital firms (First Round, Floodgate, Y Combinator) and the world’s top finance execs (e.g. the ex-CFO of Oracle, the ex-CFO of Yahoo, and the founder of Adaptive Insights).

We built software that applies proprietary machine learning models to help manage a core problem that all Mid-Market businesses face: managing, predicting, and collecting cash. As we’ve taken this solution to market over the last 18 months, we’ve been able to bring on some great clients like Veeva Systems, Box, WP Engine, Rainforest QA, and many more.

Tesorio’s Cash Flow Performance platform is a sought after solution for the modern-day CFO’s toughest problems. Companies such as Anaplan have successfully tackled forecasting revenues and expenses, however, no other system has been built from the ground up to help companies understand the complexities around cash flow and take action to optimize the core lifeblood of their business.

Are you our next Senior Designer?
      • You have a track record of leading projects from definition to launch, ensuring they succeed for both the user and the business.
      • You love spending time with users to uncover opportunities, prioritize concepts, and validate design solutions.
      • You are  a low-ego collaborator who makes decisions for the benefit of the project and isn’t afraid to champion the best ideas, no matter who came up with them.
      • You have experience thriving in a fast-moving agile environment, designing while shipping and always iterating.
      • You are comfortable learning about and working in a complex domain.
      • You can think big and create divergent concepts, keeping the project goals in mind, and then focus down and spec out every edge case.

      Responsibilities
      • Own the research and design for our collections product.
      • We’re looking for a leader to guide the project from concept to launch, through the following phases: Conduct user research to understand the scope of the problem and the user needs.
      • Design workshops to identify multiple high level features.
      • Conduct user research to quantify the value of potential features in order to define project scope.
      • Produce multiple design concepts at a wireframe level.
      • Conduct user research to identify the winning concept.
      • Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant.
      • Produce pixel-perfect mocks.
      • Assist in writing product specifications in association with product manager.
      • Manage product quality during buildout.
      • Gather post launch feedback and make adjustments to the product as necessary.

      Experience and Skills
      • 4+ years of experience working in UX or Product Design.
      • Excellent communication skills--you can articulate the rationale for design decisions and rationalize every decision.
      • Experience designing and running user research sessions.

      • Thoughtful, thorough responses to all the application questions.

      Benefits

We’re bootstrapped, profitable, and committed to building a sustainable company that will grow for decades to come. We’ve built a benefits package that invests in our employee’s long-term personal and professional growth and well-being. Here’s a sample of what that includes:

      • Competitive compensation.

      • Flexible schedule and location. This is a fully remote position, so you can work from wherever you please and on a schedule that works best for you. All you need is a computer and access to a stable internet connection (which we sponsor!).

      • Generous paid vacation + national holidays. You’ll receive 40 days of paid time off to use on vacation and holidays.

      • Paid parental leave. 18 weeks of paid maternity leave and 5 weeks of paid paternity/adoption leave.

      • Health & well-being stipend. You’ll have a monthly budget to spend on the things that keep you happy and healthy like a gym membership, books, snacks, internet, and health insurance.

      • Amazing people. Being a part of the Doist team means you get to work with incredibly diverse, talented people who also enjoy having fun!

      • Annual company retreats. Although we work remotely, we still enjoy bringing the whole team together to get to know each other, bond, and have face-to-face discussions in places like Spain (2015), Iceland (2016), Greece (2017), Chile (2018), and the Azores (2019).

      • Launched successful technical products. While you won’t be directly PM-ing the developer persona, a huge part of the Gatsby experience is the Gatsby CLI and suite of related tools (GraphQL, hot reloading environment, etc). A comfort with technical details is paramount — bonus points for specific knowledge about front-end development and/or CMSs.
      • Great judgment. You will need to consistently manage tradeoffs and evaluate new ideas. These decisions often have a vast impact. As Amazon puts it, “leaders are right. A lot.”
      • Write, speak, and think clearly. Gatsby is a distributed company and relies heavily on crisp and thorough writing. Your ability to get the right feedback and align the company will rely heavily on thoughtful synthesis of internal and external conversations and strategic planning into product documents, and clear communication to all stakeholders.
      • Leverage metrics to focus on value. You have experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value. You also leverage your strong analytical skills and ability to dive deep to develop a nuanced understanding of your product and customers, and to create effective strategies.
      • Comfortable owning entire products. You will be managing Gatsby’s commercial product. As a product-driven company, a large proportion of whether we hit our annual revenue targets will be whether we’re able to ship enough value to our company.
      • High level of curiosity. The web is an incredibly diverse place with a huge number of different communities. You’re fascinated to learn about the challenges, workflows, and hopes and dreams of a wide variety of people.
      • Trustworthy. A great product manager is trusted deeply by the engineering team. Tech leads and engineering ICs feel comfortable DM-ing their product manager at any time when they run across product questions in their day-to-day work, because they can count on getting accurate, thoughtful, helpful context.
The best parts of this job
      • Your role will be key to making Gatsby the next way to build on the web—and a technology that enables the next billion internet users. ‘Nuff said.
      • You will lead the production of one of the most highly-anticipated products in the web development space. Freelance developers and enterprise companies alike are eagerly awaiting the launch of Gatsby Cloud---and you will lead it.
      • You will have an opportunity to play a huge leadership role in a high-profile, growing company. Next to the CEO, this is perhaps the most cross-functional role in the entire Gatsby organization. You’ll have the chance to influence the work of almost everyone in the company.
      • You get to interact with an active, open, friendly community of developers that are really excited about building high-performance, fun-to-use websites. Their energy is often infectious, and you will leave conversations with them even more excited about Gatsby.
The worst parts of this job
      • Product and strategic direction can change. We’re building a whole new area of growth in an absolutely huge potential market. If we’re not changing directions relatively quickly, that would be surprising.
      • You will need to ruthlessly prioritize your workflow. Because our user audience is so diverse, there’s a huge amount of potential things to do at any time. You’ll need to be comfortable with thoughtfully choosing where to focus and communicating that.
      • Stakeholders are dispersed far and wide. The largest clustering of people in one place is 5 folks in our Berkeley office. We have a strong sense of identity and are very close, but if in-person interactions with a large number of people is important to you then this may not be a good fit.
      Benefits
      • Unlimited vacation policy, with a minimum of 15 days paid vacation time
      • Skip the commute with remote work
      • Stock options in a fast-growing startup
      • Amazing health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family (US only)
      • 3 months of paid parental leave covering both adoption and foster placement
      • Fly to cool locations 3x/year for company-wide meetups
      • Gatsby Sabbatical: 4 weeks paid vacation after 4 years tenure

    • Senior Product Manager (Developer Tooling & Integrations)

Want to make building for the web radically simpler? We’d love your help.

      About Gatsby

The web is a critical resource for all of humanity in the 21st century. Gatsby makes creating for the web dramatically better by making creating novel experiences easier -- shortening the time to try experiments, collaborate around changes, and to deploy incremental improvements. Gatsby has quickly grown to be one of the biggest and most exciting open source projects on the web, with almost 100,000 developers using Gatsby every month.

As a remote-first, community-focused team, Gatsby’s core values include transparency (we work in public most of the time); creating a safe, high-trust team; building incredible developer experiences; maintaining a healthy working environment; and helping deliver web experiences that feel amazing to use on every device and connection type.

      Details of this role:
      • Type of work: Full time
      • Location: Remote (preference for UTC-8 to UTC+0)
      Why we’re hiring

Site builders have become incredibly popular in the last five years for good reasons. They make it easy for anyone (not just developers) to build and run compelling websites. That’s amazing….until it’s not, and you need something custom that the tool didn’t account for.

We don’t think the first generation of page builders are the right solution for most organizations. Companies need #nocode that’s modular, not monolithic. We’ve been building a lot of the pieces of this -- a visual editor, consistent, application-wide theming, composable, reusable website pieces, and 450+ integrations

But building the pieces isn’t enough. In the shift from monolithic to modular, we need to be defining the interfaces between Gatsby and the content mesh (search, analytics, forms, functions, authentication, payments, etc). And then we need to be creating a seamless, integrated experience that pulls all of the pieces together. Think: Dell assembling modular pieces (graphics/video cards, motherboards, hard drives, other peripherals) into a seamless, unified whole.

And that’s where you come in :)

      What you’ll do on a day-to-day basis:
      • Systematically reduce friction to craft the optimal day one experience for non-technical users. Taking our basic visual editor (Blocks) and making it industrial-strength, best-in-class experience will require heads-up observation of developer workflows and methodical analysis in order to bring them into the tool.
      • Co-conspire with a pioneering group of engineers. The Themes team (John Otander, Brent Jackson, Max Stoiber, Rikki Schulte) have been thinking about design tooling for the last several years and have built out a number of prototypes. Your job won’t be to tell them what to do -- it will be to co-conspire with them to create the future together.
      • Work together with design on user research: prototyping, user testing, etc. One of the ways you’ll be able to help is rigorous user testing across different user groups. What features do different types of marketers want? Content folks? Designers?
      • Apply paradigms from other development frameworks. Visual editors have been popularized in mobile development (Xamarin), game development (Unity), etc. We need to learn and apply best practices from these worlds to the web.
      • Careful interface and API design. With relevant engineering counterparts, you’ll work through the appropriate interfaces between Gatsby and the content mesh -- search, analytics, forms, etc -- in order to simplify user workflows.
      • Collaborate across the content mesh community. Integrations have lots of stakeholders! We want to carefully consider the needs and desires of the community and partners across the content mesh in order to build an interface that works well with the vast diversity of services on the web.
      Experience & Qualities

You’ll need to hit the ground running, which means experience getting your head around these aspects as quickly as possible.

      • Launched products successfully in a startup. We’re iterating rapidly on a number of fronts, and tend to optimize for quickly getting product in the hands of users (and receiving feedback) over Platonic feature-completeness. Whether you’ve been a product manager, or a founder, you have experience putting all the puzzle pieces together.
      • Comfortable inventing the future. The future never repeats but it does rhyme. You need to be comfortable trusting your intuition in a domain where there’s aren’t established comparables for the work you’re doing.
      • Know how to build for developers. Whether you’re actually coming from a developer background, you know how to think about developer experience, API design, and so on
      • Great judgment.
Your ability to get the right feedback and align the company  will rely heavily on thoughtful synthesis of internal and external conversations, strategic planning in product documents, and clear communication to all stakeholders.
      • Leverage metrics to focus on value. You have experience using data and metrics to back up, or question assumptions. You leverage your strong analytical skills and ability to dive deep to develop a nuanced understanding of your product and customers.
      • High level of curiosity. The web is an incredibly diverse place with a huge number of different communities. You’re fascinated to learn about the challenges, workflows, and hopes and dreams of a wide variety of people.
      • Trustworthiness. A great product manager is trusted deeply by the engineering team. Tech leads and engineering ICs feel comfortable DM-ing their product manager at any time when they run across product questions in their day-to-day work, because they can count on getting accurate, thoughtful, helpful context.

The worst parts of this job
      • Dealing with the complexity of the web. The web is an incredibly diverse place, which means we’re going to be getting a ton of signal from different groups of people, likely pulling us in different directions. You’ll need to be able to thoughtfully manage the complexity and point the way forward.

The most important thing is that you bring personal experience from working in an internationally distributed remote-only company.

Ideally, you should've already gained leadership experience yourself. We're not talking about job titles, yet, as we try to have as little hierarchy as possible at Frontastic. If you're explicitly looking for a "VP" or "Head of" title, you're probably in the wrong place. To be clear, this is only about job title itself, not about responsibilities - the more you take the lead yourself, the better.

Optionally you can get Virtual Shares from our Virtual Shares Options Program AVSOPB as part of your compensation. In addition, we offer 28 vacation days and a €200/month co-working stipend.

Since we currently work from 9 different countries (and counting), it's very difficult to offer consistent benefits beyond that. We strive to find a good balance between local laws and conventions, and general fairness. And we're always open to your suggestions (especially since it'll be part of your job).

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

If this job sounds interesting to you, please send a short tweet-style "why-me" to [email protected] and have your CV attached. Do you still have questions? Then don't hesitate to get in touch via the same address!
