Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a profitable, 100% globally distributed team of 43 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

Our backend tech stack currently consists of Python Flask/Gunicorn web apps with our TaskTiger scheduler handling many of the backend asynchronous task processing. Our data stores include MongoDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis. The underlying infrastructure runs on AWS using a combination of managed services like RDS and ElasticCache and non-managed services running on EC2 instances. All of our compute runs through CI/CD pipelines that build Docker images, run automated tests and deploy to our Kubernetes clusters. Our backend primarily serves a well-documented public API that our front-end JavaScript app consumes.

We ❤️open source – using dozens of open source projects with contributions to many of them, and released some of our own like ciso8601, LimitLion, SocketShark, TaskTiger, and more at https://github.com/closeio

You also have around five years experience using MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, or similar data stores. You have significant experience designing, scaling, debugging, and optimizing systems to make them fast and reliable. You have experience participating in code reviews and providing overall code quality suggestions to help maintain the structure and quality of the codebase.

You are located in an American or European time zone.

Bonus points if you have...

• Flexible PTO Policy
• Free Food & Snacks

You will help define a project management process to help delivery and predictability with the goal of continuously shipping code to production.
• Cultivation: You'll be instrumental in growing the careers of the individual engineers on your team. This means being their advocate and helping guide them in the direction they want. It also means being a culture driver on the team, fostering a positive, trusting, and supportive team.

We have a small headquarters in San Francisco but we are a largely distributed engineering team. You will need to enable the team to work productively across different timezones. Fostering good habits of documentation, empathy, integrity to delivery on committed work are some of the key elements for success on our team. Experience working and managing remote teams is a big plus.

Ideal Candidate:

• Commitment to designing a hiring process that is fair, efficient, and repeatable
• Communicate priorities and expectations to both team and leadership
• Passion for mentorship and advocacy for your team members in their career development
• Ability to work across multiple timezones with remote colleagues
• A desire to succeed personally through the health and success of the team
About the team:

The SRE team works as a support for the whole organization, from the different engineering groups to the sales and stability of the product. While we do oversee the incident management framework, we work to minimize the number of incidents via automation and tooling for the larger engineering team. The SRE team will focus on two big areas: stability and enablement.

Stability because the SRE team is the frontline defense around issues and outages (e.g. cloud crashes, DDoS). The team will build the tooling needed to respond to these incidents and be prepared for the unexpected. This includes a 24/7 on-call rotation and working with other teams to prepare for incidents (e.g. more observability, alerting framework)

Enablement because the team provides some of the core services that the rest of engineering relies on (e.g. kafka, kubernetes). They also empower developers to ship their code to production in a safe and repeatable way. This means working on different developer tools to provide more observability, better testing capabilities, and a smoother deployment process. Much of this is done by writing and using tools to further automation of rote or dangerous tasks.

Right now the team is split between US and EU timezones to provide follow the sun coverage. Often coordination will have to take into account lag, timezones, and autonomy. The goal being to have SRE resources available whenever the company needs them.

• productboard (Europe only)

Join one of our product teams and develop features with real value to a one-of-a-kind product management system used by 2000+ global companies. Join a team that's redefining what product management systems can be.

Our Tech Stack

productboard's stack is a Ruby on Rails backend built by passionate Rubyists with React.js on Typescript on the frontend. Over time with demand, we've added new technologies to support the growing needs of the team, both in complexity and traffic. We're running Elasticsearch to power our Insights search, we are fully migrated to Kubernetes on AWS to enable an event-driven service architecture, we're using Kafka to let services communicate together asynchronously and resiliently.

We are also exploring to use Typescript more and more on the backend as well. However, we don't see our Ruby development slowing down anytime soon.

You'll be expected to work on everything from the above, but we're not expecting deep knowledge in all of it. We strive to build up everything backed by code and reliable pipelines which will get you on track at lightning speed. We're always open to changes that can make us better!

We work in small cross-functional teams that usually consist of 3 developers, a designer, and a product manager. You’ll be part of the whole feature development lifecycle. You’ll see all the feedback we collected from our customers and you will be encouraged to come up with your ideas or objections.

About you

As a core member of our team, you care about solving real problems for real users. Coding, to you, is more art than mechanics and analytical thinking comes second nature.

You like communicating with frontend or product management and you always keep the end-user in mind.

• 2+ years of experience building backend systems

• Experience with some parts of our tech stack is always welcome (messaging, AWS, k8s, Typescript, SPAs)
• Your code is clean and well tested, you own development from discovery to production deployment

• You love to learn and constantly improve your own skills and are not afraid to jump into new things
• You could win a debate on tabs vs. spaces conducted entirely in English (we have an international team and are successful at keeping discussions in English)

• You live in Europe – as it's important for us to have the team in pretty much the same timezone

Remote

At productboard, we recently started building fully remote teams. It is, therefore, possible to join us as an engineer while being (almost) 100% remote. The expectation is that you will travel to Prague roughly every six weeks to collaborate with your remote team members in person, while also meeting other team members and learning more about the productboard culture. If you're interested in taking on this position remotely, make sure you tick off (most of) these requirements:

• You’re self-organized and disciplined
• You have amazing communication skills
• You know how to make sure everyone on the team feels included
• Nice to have: previous experience with remote work

About productboard

productboard is the product management system of choice for everyone from Avast and Microsoft to rising stars like Metromile and Envoy. In addition to our recent $45M Series-B, Forbes Magazine named productboard 2019's most valued startup of the Czech Republic.

• We are backed by top Silicon Valley investors, giving us access to capital, networks, mentors, and markets
• You’ll enjoy an exciting team atmosphere building a new and complex product
• We iterate quickly and decisions are fast. You’ll have a voice in what we do and see the impact of your work
• We have modern offices in Prague and San Francisco. Expect occasional travel to the US

Perks & Benefits

You'll join a diverse and talented team, with plenty of opportunities for personal growth, impact, and learning.

Stock options
MacBook Pro or notebook of your choice + 34″ monitor
Budget for online courses, books and conferences
5 weeks of vacation and sick days
Free snacks, drinks, and yummy catered lunches every day
MultiSport card to access sports facilities in Prague.
Team events, such as happy hours, off-sites, and retreats
Flexible working hours and home office
Language lessons
Opportunity to travel to San Francisco
Compensation for travels and co-working spaces

Culture

Our culture is one of trust and openness, free of workplace politics, and hasty decisions.

Thoughtful and transparent collaboration is a value that's integral to our founding principles. For us, success is a team sport, so it's important you're a team player.
• Want to work on a simulation IDE? Build out an interactive designer for models of systems ranging from businesses and hospitals through to the environment and biological systems. Focus on providing first class UX and friendly feedback to help people solve their problems without frustration. Build out new visualisations to let people see their systems clearly.

As one of our first hires, you will work directly with the software engineer co-founder. In this role you will have a large influence on the product and its future, and a large impact on technology choices, UX and style.

Sheetless has a fully statically typed technology stack, a combination of TypeScript and Rust. On the TypeScript side, we're using a base of React/Next.js, Redux and Immer as the core libraries/frameworks. There's also use of web APIs to provide a rich and responsive experience, including SVG, canvas, and WebWorker.

We're using Material UI as our base component library, although as we grow defining a more bespoke style and UX will become more important. As our first frontend-focused member of the team, you will need to be comfortable and capable of designing, prototyping, and building out UI/UX of the platform.

Experience in any of these areas would be a plus (if you have experience in all of these areas then please do contact us!):

• TypeScript programming to a comfortable level. Experience in JS or statically typed languages also. Overall experience in the range of 3-5+ years.

• React and Redux development, using hooks, or experience in related technologies also (Vue, MobX, etc).

• Building custom visualisations, with Canvas, SVG or WebGL.

• Working with Rest API web services. GraphQL a plus.

• Working with WebSockets for providing interactive client<>client services.

• Working with and extending browser code editors, such as Monaco or CodeMirror.

Compensation: £50k – £90k

Equity: 0.5% – 1.5%

• Litmus provides a suite of email creation, testing and analytics tools, trusted by over 250,000 marketers. We’re a tight-knit team that is passionate about helping the world make email better.

We're looking for a Ruby on Rails developer to help expand our product line, improve our existing products and help build the next generation of Litmus tools, while continuing to provide exceptional support to our growing customer base.

What would I do at Litmus?

A typical day for one of our developers might include:

• Collaborating within our Rails team, and reviewing code to help everyone on the team do their best work.

• Writing and refactoring code in our Rails app, as well as in our JavaScript code, our Ember app, our Sass stylesheets, and wrapping all that work up inside Git.

• Talking with our Design team to figure out the best way to present a new feature to our customers.

• Working with our Product team to understand product and marketing goals, and work out a good path to implementing them.

• Working with our .NET team to integrate with our internal APIs.

• Working with customer support to investigate and fix bugs.

What's it like to work in engineering at Litmus?

You'd work alongside a team of smart, curious people working on challenging problems. We're a motley crew of developers with a diverse set of skills and backgrounds. Most importantly, we're supportive of one another; we work as a team to enable each other to do our best work.

"Best work" can mean a lot of things. We care about testing, and apply that through a mix of unit, integration, and acceptance tests. That diligence allows us to ship early and often through an automated continuous integration and delivery process. We're also strong believers of using the right tool for the job. We lean heavily on Rails and the traditional request/response web lifecycle for most of our work. That said, we reach for component frameworks like Vue when there's a clear benefit, and we've implemented full client-side MVC/SPA when the product demanded it. We give our team members the time and space to learn and apply these and other tools correctly. We share our knowledge with each other on a regular basis through pairing, PR reviews, and team talks.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

• You have a well-founded understanding of Ruby and Ruby on Rails. We won't limit to ‘x’ years’ experience, but you should be able to impress us with your app building skills, confident use of Ruby and Rails, and understanding of web development. We're happy to introduce you to the other technologies we use.

• You have product experience. In your work, you think and care about what really matters to customers, and about their experience of our product and company.

• You have good communication skills. As a distributed team, it’s important that we're able to understand each other, through text or the spoken word, and talk at the appropriate level of abstraction. You communicate clearly and with empathy, whether you’re discussing refactoring options with a developer, or working with a designer to understand user experience.

• You write clean, thoughtful code. Our code is the home that we live in every day. You enjoy putting effort into crafting understandable and well-tested code, to make everyone’s shared development experience more enjoyable.

• You are eager to collaborate, learn and teach. Our Engineering team is friendly and supportive of each other, and we look for opportunities to learn from each other’s experience.

What are some of the benefits offered at Litmus?

We offer everything you'd expect from a financially successful and profitable startup, with the stability of a company that's been going strong for ten years.

• Great salary, comprehensive health care benefits, and a generous retirement plan match.

• 28 days of paid vacation — that’s on top of team retreats and public holidays.

• Family friendly. Flexible schedules along with generous maternity and paternity policies.

• Remote friendly culture. You'll join a completely distributed engineering team, and will benefit from the first-class remote experience we've created—giving you the flexibility to work where you want, with all of the tools and resources you need to succeed.

• The best tools and technology money can buy. Top of the line hardware, software, and whatever else you need to be awesome.

What is the hiring process like?

We're accepting applications for this role until Monday, April 6th at 5pm EDT. After reviewing applications, successful candidates will go through the following steps:

• Initial interview. In a relaxed, Slack/text-based chat, you’ll meet the hiring team, tell us about yourself, and learn more about Litmus and this role in particular.

• Sample project. We'll ask you to complete a time-boxed exercise on your schedule as an example of your best work. Your code, commit history, and resume will be anonymized and passed to the engineering team for review.

• Follow-up interview. You'll meet with the hiring team on a Zoom call to discuss your sample project, share context around decisions made along the way, and chat about other technical topics.

• Final round. Spend a day pairing with your hiring manager on extensions to your sample project, and meet some of our engineering leaders and the rest of our Rails team over Zoom! We communicate with candidates at every step of the process, letting them know if we'll be moving forward, and what they can expect in the next phase.

Who is Litmus?

Backed by $49M from Spectrum Equity, the Litmus email creation, testing, and analytics platform empowers marketers, designers, and agencies to confidently deliver customer experiences that ensure brand alignment and quality, as well as maximize performance and deliverability.

Major global brands across every industry and vertical trust Litmus to make email better, including 9 of the top 10 ecommerce brands, 7 of the top 10 technology companies, and 23 of the top 25 US ad agencies.

• Impala (Western Europe)

Hello!

Thanks for taking a look at the job description for a Chief Architect at Impala. We felt a little bit impersonal just throwing you right in there with words like “revolutionizing” and “disrupting”.

As such, we want you to know that the person that wrote this job description apologises in advance for any clichés, startup tropes or sudden-insecurity-driven-panic-attacks that you might find in the description below.

What is Impala now?

Impala makes building travel software incredibly easy. We provide hotels with a powerful data management platform that makes connecting to software, hardware and room distributors extremely easy. Think Twilio for Travel.

We launched in January 2019 and since then have grown at - quite frankly - a ridiculous pace. Our technology is already installed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, on six continents and categorises more than 1 billion data points.

We are a growing team of exceptional people split across engineering, product and commercial that have built a fantastic, remote-but-far-from-distant community.

Where is Impala going?

We’re supported by some of the best investors in the business, the early stage backers behind Deliveroo, PillPack, SecretEscapes, Zoopla, Trivago and more. They’re on board because of our vision - revolutionizing a $1.6 trillion dollar market that’s been out-of-date for 20 years.

Within the next two years, 25% of hotel bookings worldwide will flow through Impala technology and the product that we’re building will empower the entire ecosystem of travel technology (we already have over a thousand companies signed up).

Anyone travelling anywhere will interact with products powered by Impala and to achieve this we’re growing the team to 50 people within the next year. So now is the most exciting time to be joining Impala as we go through a large push to scale up!

A brief overview of what you’ll be up to in this role:

• You will ensure that monitoring, metrics and SRE practices are in place across all teams and services, to measure and meet high service SLA’s / expectations
• You will be the direct leader of an enablement group, which provides specialist technical/DevOps/SecOps support to our development teams
• You will provide technical direction and mentorship across teams to support the development of individuals

You should join us if:

• You have 10+ years of relevant and diverse product and engineering experience, with a period of executive-level responsibility at an organization with a strong engineering culture
• You are an expert in the architectural design, development, and operation of large scale, high availability services
• You have demonstrated experience with modern web services, distributed service-oriented architectures and services that handle large quantities of data, across multiple different stacks.
• You aren’t afraid to get hands-on when necessary to demonstrate an approach / principle
• You are comfortable leading and mentoring teams and individuals

This is a remote position. This means you can work from anywhere +/- 2 Hours of London, timezone wise (and less than a 3 hour flight). We are a remote-first company, our whole engineering team is fully distributed! • We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the team dedicated to driving Gatsby’s open source project. Join us in our mission to make website development fun by making it simple.

About us

Gatsby is a remote-first, community-focused team working to build a high-performance, fun to use, accessible, and astonishingly flexible presentation layer for any data source. Our core values include transparency (our work is public most of the time); creating a safe, high-trust team; building incredible developer experiences; maintaining a healthy working environment; and helping deliver web experiences that feel amazing to use on every device and connection type.

Details of the role

Type of Work: Full-time employee Location: Remote

Why we need you

Gatsby is the future of the web, and the web is an incredibly diverse ecosystem. This means we need leaders who can intuitively appreciate the value that the commercial services we build offer customers. The open source team is expanding rapidly and we need someone with a deep understanding of the very cool technology, but an equally profound sense of empathy required to grow both individual contributors and future leaders in this critical part of our company.

Why this is interesting

Gatsby is a wildly popular open-source framework that is changing the architecture of the web. The open-source team is responsible for driving the roadmap for the large and complex codebase that is Gatsby.js. Between their own contributions and the community, they merge nearly 500 pull requests in a typical month. You’ll help lead the team in not only tackling key technological challenges, but also bolstering and focusing community contributions.

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for people, projects, and processes. You will partner with your team and peers to:

• Foster an inclusive environment through empathy, not just inside engineering, but across all the teams in Gatsby, and beyond to the open source community.
• Wrangle many timezones and introduce remote work best practices, as you will lead a geographically diverse team.
• Exercise good judgement in interacting with the enthusiastic community, as an exemplar for your team in this area.
• Partner with Product and Design to find the best blend of quality, agility, and work/life sanity.
• Make sure your team is fully equipped for their job, including:

• Context - make sure they know what is happening outside engineering
• Vision - make sure they know what it coming next, even if we’re not there yet
• Skills - ensure that each team member grows and feels confident in delivery
• Tools - choose and evolve the dev environment (with the team’s input)
• Processes - hand-in-hand with tools, make sure that we’re continuously evolving our planning and dev approach to have just enough structure to keep us on track
• Empower your team members by offering them clear ownership of technical challenges in a world where you and other leaders are still wearing many hats and finding the ones with the best fit.
• Collaborate with other engineering managers to evolve the management practices at Gatsby. We’re all learning more every day!
This might be you if you….
• Have successfully managed people, including recruiting and hiring, coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and promoting.
• Have experience working with (and ideally contributing to, or managing) open source communities and products.
• Have strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Genuinely enjoy helping people, both inside the company and out.
• Have a consistent track record of delivering high-quality software in regular, iterative releases through coordinating a remote team.
• Are able to coordinate and work with teams and stakeholders across the organization, and even beyond the company, including effective project management skills in an environment where you may not control many of the variables.
• Have previous experience with React, Node.js, and GraphQL. Gatsby is built on React, Node, and GraphQL, so you should be experienced with usage and the syntax.
• Have strong empathy and a willingness to define the nuances of team roles (including your own!) as you go.
The best parts of this job
• The people and culture of a team genuinely invested in building something great.
• You’ll be helping curate one of the most popular, fastest growing open source frameworks in the world.
• You’ll be leading a group of supportive, talented, and friendly people towards delivering a great framework and developer experience.
• You’ll have the opportunity (even expectation) to constantly learn and innovate, in both tech approaches and process definition.
• Your role will be key to making Gatsby the next way to build on the web—and a technology that enables the next billion internet users.
• You will get to look back on this time as the “early, exciting days” of Gatsby. You’ll get to watch members of your team become future leaders and luminaries in a space that isn’t fully defined or formed yet.
The worst parts of this job (maybe)
• The community and our team aren’t always operating as equals, and don’t always have perfectly aligned motivations. Your job includes the unenviable task of helping us figure out the right focus in a variety of complex situations, and with a wide range of (understandable, but sometimes mutually exclusive) community expectations.
• We’re all still figuring a lot of stuff out. Things can feel unstructured or messy. Part of your job is to smooth out what we collectively don’t like. And that can be hard.
• The company is growing fast, which means lots of people wearing lots of hats, and sometimes exchanging them for new ones. Doing this while protecting a team (or individual’s) sense of ownership and security is hard. And it’s part of this job. Sorry.
• Product and strategic direction can change. We’re building a whole new area of growth in an absolutely huge potential market. Absorbing (and/or pushing back as you see fit) that change so your team doesn’t feel unnecessary churn is also hard. And also part of this job. Still sorry.
Benefits
• Unlimited vacation policy, with a minimum of 15 days paid vacation time
• Amazing health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family (US only)
• Skip the commute with remote work
• 3 months of paid parental leave covering both adoption and foster placement
• Fly to cool locations 3x/year for company-wide meetups
• Stock options in a fast-growing startup
• Gatsby Sabbatical: 4 weeks of paid vacation after 4 years tenure
Equal Opportunity Statement

Gatsby is an equal opportunity employer. We eagerly seek applicants of diverse backgrounds and hire without regard to race, color, gender identity, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, physical abilities (or disability), age, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Cultivating inclusivity and diversity is a top priority.

Headhunters and recruitment agencies may not submit resumes/CVs through this website or directly to managers. Gatsby does not accept unsolicited headhunter and agency resumes, and will not pay fees to any third-party agency or company that does not have a signed agreement with Gatsby.

• Optimistic: We see an amazing future ahead, and want to inspire others to share in it. This is both internal—building each other up and looking for the best in people—and external—we know open source is awesome, and we want to make it even better.
• Practical: We know words and ideas alone won’t change lives. We help people most by creating a pragmatic, viable, and sustainable business that works for everyone. So we care about usability, design, and honest assessment of costs and benefits.
• Additive: We want an environment that encourages and inspires growth, both for individuals and for the open source community as a whole. That means embracing a growth mindset, and valuing culture add over culture fit.
• Inclusive: We believe technology will be stronger when it better reflects the voices and ideas of society as a whole. So we want people from different backgrounds and experiences to not just be represented, but to be heard, valued, and flourish. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment.

Logistics

In this role, you would have the option to work remotely from the US or from our offices in Boston, MA or Raleigh, NC.

We believe in the urgency of our mission and the importance of doing good work, but also know this is a marathon and not a sprint. Hours can be flexible within reason if necessary to meet personal needs (like child, medical, or elder care).

Compensation, benefits, and career

Compensation is competitive with other Boston-area startups, including health insurance, flexible vacation, 401(k), short-term disability, parental leave, and equity.

We invest in every employee’s growth, and support professional development that aligns with your goals and how you learn best.

How to apply

Fill out the form below. We'd love it if you add a thoughtful note about your goals and your background. We’ll get back to you promptly!

Please note that we are not looking to hire contractors or outsourced sales teams.

Overview:

We take support seriously. It's the human face of our product. We believe that every support ticket is an opportunity to convert a frustrated, confused, or curious customer into a delighted, long-term champion of our company.

We're looking to add a new support specialist to our team. This person will work with customers to help solve their problems, surface learnings to the rest of our team, and help design systems to scale our support experience.

We're looking for someone with a unique set of skills: extraordinary human interaction abilities—the kind of person who can turn a frown into a smile—and operational excellence. In this role you'll have the freedom to design a delightful experience and shape the systems we use to deliver it. You'll play an essential role in evolving our product, company, and culture.

We expect you to bring passion and enthusiasm to every interaction with our customers and team.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of customer support experience for tech products (required)

• Enthusiastic passion for helping customers

• Strong communication skills

• Highly organized and thorough

• Passion for our product (which you can download here)

Day to day:

• Handle inbound support tickets via Intercom and monitor support team KPIs

• Assist with building our internal support admin tool, support knowledge base, and documentation

• Work cross-functionally with engineering to address bug/issues, with product on new feature development, and with growth on running user interviews

• Collaborate with a small team of customer support specialists

This job is open to anyone, anywhere in the U.S., but we'll need you to work an EST schedule.

*This role is for someone in Eastern Canada who wants to join our new remote Support Team. You’ll start between 5am-6am Pacific Time to support the Eastern Time Zone (ET). Please only apply if you are located in Eastern Canada.**

Are you energized by helping others succeed? Love sharing and helping explain a great product? Excited to join a fast-paced, growing tech company? You know that the success of any company is tied to the customer experience—and that’s where you come in.

As a Customer Support Specialist, you’ll be helping and supporting customers to grow their business through education. Being the first point of contact on email and phone, you'll be answering questions, giving advice, solving problems using your technical know-how and helping our customers build successful online businesses. You’ll learn our platform inside and out, with opportunities to work cross-collaboratively with other teams and have dedicated time for you to learn, grow and explore professional development opportunities. At Thinkific you’ll be part of a collaborative, passionate and insanely helpful team that provides the best support in the industry!

In this role, you will:

• Spend the day working through our support ticket queue in Zendesk and ensure customer problems are resolved as quickly as possible

• Investigate technical issues reported by running diagnostic tests, researching technical nuances, and cross-referencing with JIRA updates, then conveying your findings and any available solutions to customers based on their specific needs

• Identify, reproduce and document bugs for the Technical Tier II team

• Help identify areas of improvement, or spot trends based on customer feedback to flag for the rest of the internal teams

• Answer the support phone line for a full day once per week (but don’t hesitate to jump on additional calls with customers who need an extra helping hand)

• Work closely with our product team, including the QA of new features so you can effectively communicate each feature use-case to customers

• Jump on weekend support once a month, getting a day off in lieu of the preceding or the following week!

• Support customers at different stages of the customer journey from jumping on calls with prospects to discuss their needs, to helping customers launch their courses, to coaching customers close to churning

• Have an opportunity to take on side projects based on your areas of interest such as writing help articles to help grow our Knowledge Base, helping grow our Facebook group or hosting webinars to our customer base.

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Have at least 2+ years in an online customer-facing role (ideally in SaaS)

• Love helping people— you go above and beyond to show you’re fanatical about customer success!

• Have stellar communication skills both verbal and written so you can explain technical problems succinctly, and then clearly articulate solutions to customers.

• Be an independent problem solver. You do not give up when you don’t know the answer immediately and while you rarely run into a roadblock you can't creatively get around, you're humble enough to ask for help whenever you need it

• Be technically savvy and constantly stay up to date by learning the ins and outs of our platform, and any partner apps, quickly

• Have experience troubleshooting software-related issues across common browsers

• Be a team player and believe teamwork makes the dream work!

• Love talking on the phone—it’s your bread and butter!

• Have a great attitude and a willingness to overcome any challenge that comes your way

• Perform well under pressure and understand the importance of work-life balance

• Have a strong work ethic and don’t believe in the traditional 9 to 5. You are resilient and flexible as customer needs evolve and ticket volume changes

You might be the person we’re looking for if you:

• Know the importance of listening, building trust and confidence with customers

• Have a flair for translating product features into tangible benefits for customers

• Are passionate about online education, digital marketing, and small business (or all of the above!)

• Are great at handling difficult customers from the disgruntled to those who aren’t technically savvy

• Have experience supporting customers via email, phone, live chat, and video calls

• Are goal-oriented and driven by performance metrics

• Have experience using customer service software like Zendesk (or a similar tool)

Bonus points if you:

• Have experience with sales or account management

• Understand the basics of HTML/CSS (but any coding skills are valuable)

• Read API documentation

• Have experience with domain hosting and setting up custom domains

• Have experience using Asana, Slack, Google Drive and/or TextExpander

• Snowplow Analytics (UTC +7 to UTC+12)

Our Snowplow Insights offering has grown significantly over the last year, and we now orchestrate and monitor the Snowplow event pipeline for nearly 200 customers, many of them processing billions of events per month. The support that we provide to our customers is a core part of the Snowplow Insights offering, and we strive to provide the best technical support of any analytics vendor.

We have implemented a full “follow the sun” support model at Snowplow, with our six Support Engineers working in six well-distributed time zones (East & West Coast US, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Russia). We are now looking to hire an additional Support Engineer in the UTC +7 to UTC +12 time zone range.

This is a Support Engineering role - not a Support Agent role. We are looking for candidates who can learn, troubleshoot and explain the many complex technical systems that make up the Snowplow offering. We expect you to have an analytical mind, a high level of customer empathy and an enthusiasm for improving processes and systems. Depending on where your passions lie, there is a path from Support Engineering at Snowplow into Customer Success, Implementation Services, Tech Ops or Engineering.

Responsibilities for our Support Engineer will include

- Handling customer tickets in Zendesk, resolving if possible or escalating further to our Customer Success, Implementation Services, Tech Ops, Engineering or Product teams.

- Handling Snowplow pipeline incidents in OpsGenie, communicating the failure to our customers and either resolving if possible, or working with the customer and/or Snowplow teams to resolve.

- Providing help to the open-source Snowplow community in our Discourse forums.

- Working with customers on regular support tasks including: upgrading their Snowplow pipelines; sharing security best practices; enabling new Snowplow features for their account.

- Creating playbooks, documentation and software to reduce your support workload even as we add more customers.

- Collaborating with Snowplow teams on bug fixes and new features for both our open source projects and our proprietary orchestration and monitoring technology.

- Constant awareness of open and ongoing issues and actively checking and updating open tickets.

Excellent customer support is at the core of Snowplow’s commercial offering. You will join the support rotation, and take on an agreed number of evening and weekend support hours (compensated both in money and time). While the ongoing Snowplow Insights support commitment is the first priority, our Support Engineers will regularly take full days to work on projects that are strategic for the Support team or wider company.

The environment you’ll be working in

Our company values are Transparency, Honesty, Ownership, Inclusivity, Empowerment, Customer-centricity, Growth and Technical Excellence. These aren’t just words we plucked out of thin air, we came up with them together as a company and are continually looking to find new ways to weave these into our day to day operations. From flexible hours and working locations to the way we give feedback, we’re passionate about building a company that supports both company and individual development.

We’d love to get to know you if:

• Data or programming is your thing! This role would be a great fit for somebody who has completed an analytically rigorous degree or programming bootcamp, or has experience in programming, QA or other automation.

• You enjoy helping people. You communicate with clarity and empathy.

• New programming language? You’re on it! You have a broad technical curiosity and proven technical understanding.

• Broader business challenges interest you. Snowplow customers are highly technology- and data-literate, and expect Snowplow Insights support to be responsive, well-informed and always mindful of their business goals.

• I have an idea! You have a passion for problem solving.

• Can we automate? Yes, we can. You will be constantly working with customers and internal Snowplow teams to solve Snowplow Insights problems in as effective, time-efficient and repeatable way as possible - you must love troubleshooting.

• Process makes perfect. You have a mature attitude to security, documentation and process.

• Reliability is key. Snowplow Insights customers trust us with their event pipelines and AWS and GCP accounts - this is a huge responsibility and informs everything we do.

What you’ll get in return

• A competitive package, including share options

• 25 days of holiday a year (plus bank holidays)

• MacBook or Dell XPS 13/15

• Freedom to work wherever suits you best

• Two fantastic company Away Weeks in a different European city each year (the last one was in Bratislava in November!)

• Work alongside a supportive and talented team with the opportunity to work on cutting edge technology and challenging problems

• Grow and develop in a fast-moving, collaborative organisation

• Convenient location in central London (Shoreditch)

• Continuous supply of Pact coffee and healthy snacks in the office when you’re here!

Who We Are

Process Street is a SaaS platform that helps companies manage their processes and workflows to make recurring work fun, fast, and faultless. We are a lean, flexible, 100% distributed team that relies on systems to improve output 10X. Process Street is backed by leading investors, including Accel, Salesforce, and Atlassian.

A distributed team means freedom and flexibility: All 40-plus of us work wherever we’d like—reliable internet access is our only requirement. Spread across 9 time zones in 10 countries, we sign into Slack and open up our work tools on the schedule that fits our lives best. We communicate asynchronously, work autonomously, and take ownership of our work. Distributed work isn’t for everyone, but if it fits your management style, it’s a life-changing benefit.

Camaraderie from afar: Being 100% distributed doesn’t stop us from getting to know each other— we have daily conversations in chat, weekly “coffee” pairings with coworkers, and once a year we all come together for an all-team retreat.

Our values: As a small, nimble company, we want our employees to feel empowered to make decisions and define the future of our company, so our values include:

• Act like an owner (Agency!)
• Default to action (Processes are great; bureaucracy isn't!)
• Focus on the process (See? Great.)
• Practice prioritization (There are an infinite number of useful things to do. We trust you to pick the best ones.)
• Pay attention to details (Our customers count on us!)

• Over-communicate everything. Twice (See what we did there?)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Director of Product to join our amazing Product team. More details to come!

Diverse Teams Build Better Products

We support workplace diversity.

But we want to add this:

We strongly believe that diversity contributes to a broader collective perspective that will consistently lead to a better company and better products. • Now Hiring: Senior Product Manager
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to define and execute the strategic vision for the Gatsby’s Cloud experience.
About Gatsby

Named as a Rising Star on the 2019 Forbes 100 Cloud List, Gatsby has quickly grown to be one of the biggest and most exciting open source projects on the web. It aims to build a high-performance, fun to use, accessible, and astonishingly flexible presentation layer for any data source.

As a remote-first, community-focused team, Gatsby’s core values include transparency (we work in public most of the time); creating a safe, high-trust team; building incredible developer experiences; maintaining a healthy working environment; and helping deliver web experiences that feel amazing to use on every device and connection type.

Details of this role:
• Type of work: Full time
• Location: Remote (preference for UTC-8 to UTC+0)
Why we’re hiring

Gatsby’s newest product, Gatsby Cloud, will address the high-demand for more robust features necessary for complex or large-scale sites. As product manager, you will helps set the strategic vision for the Gatsby Cloud experience. You will partner with both internal stakeholders such as engineers, designers, sales, marketing, as well as external stakeholders.

Why this is interesting

You will have the opportunity to shape the commercial side of the business, making the already wildly-popular open source framework shine through our hosted cloud product. We need to establish ourselves as the obvious best-of-breed platform for building, deploying, and maintaining Gatsby sites at any scale.

What you’ll do on a day-to-day basis:
• Determine what gets built and delivered to customers. You’ll acquire, as quickly as possible, deep knowledge of the customer, of the data, of internal stakeholders, and of the market and industry. Your job is to see the forest and the trees clearly enough to identify the product paths through it.
• Work directly with engineers to build exceptional products. You will lead the product development process from roadmap development to building, testing, and launching products on time.
• Balance multiple personas. You’ll own product for a number of different personas that are using Gatsby (content creator & editors, other marketers, execs, agencies). You’ll have to balance their needs and priorities.
• Balance the business needs and technical constraints by navigating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, and anticipating trade-offs.
• Own competitive positioning for Gatsby Cloud. The Senior Product Manager owns feature development and documentation that makes a Gatsby stack the resounding preference in web building.
• Identify and break down complex business problems into smaller solvable pieces that can be clearly communicated to all stakeholders.
• Advocate for the customer by being a champion for the user experience and having deep customer empathy.
Experience & Qualities

You’ll need to hit the ground running, which means the following experience will be necessary.

• Launched products successfully as a PM in a startup environment. We’re iterating rapidly on a number of fronts, and tend to optimize for quickly getting product in the hands of users (and receiving feedback) over Platonic feature-completeness.
• Launched successful technical products. While you won’t be directly PM-ing the developer persona, a huge part of the Gatsby experience is the Gatsby CLI and suite of related tools (GraphQL, hot reloading environment, etc). A comfort with technical details is paramount — bonus points for specific knowledge about front-end development and/or CMSs.
• Great judgment. You will need to consistently manage tradeoffs and evaluate new ideas. These decisions often have a vast impact. As Amazon puts it, “leaders are right. A lot.”
• Write, speak, and think clearly. Gatsby is a distributed company and relies heavily on crisp and thorough writing. Your ability to get the right feedback and align the company will rely heavily on thoughtful synthesis of internal and external conversations and strategic planning into product documents, and clear communication to all stakeholders.
• Leverage metrics to focus on value. You have experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value. You also leverage your strong analytical skills and ability to dive deep to develop a nuanced understanding of your product and customers, and to create effective strategies.
• Comfortable owning entire products. You will be managing Gatsby’s commercial product. As a product-driven company, a large proportion of whether we hit our annual revenue targets will be whether we’re able to ship enough value to our company.
• High level of curiosity. The web is an incredibly diverse place with a huge number of different communities. You’re fascinated to learn about the challenges, workflows, and hopes and dreams of a wide variety of people.
• Trustworthy. A great product manager is trusted deeply by the engineering team. Tech leads and engineering ICs feel comfortable DM-ing their product manager at any time when they run across product questions in their day-to-day work, because they can count on getting accurate, thoughtful, helpful context.
The best parts of this job
• Your role will be key to making Gatsby the next way to build on the web—and a technology that enables the next billion internet users. ‘Nuff said.
• You will lead the production of one of the most highly-anticipated products in the web development space. Freelance developers and enterprise companies alike are eagerly awaiting the launch of Gatsby Cloud---and you will lead it.
• You will have an opportunity to play a huge leadership role in a high-profile, growing company. Next to the CEO, this is perhaps the most cross-functional role in the entire Gatsby organization. You’ll have the chance to influence the work of almost everyone in the company.
• You get to interact with an active, open, friendly community of developers that are really excited about building high-performance, fun-to-use websites. Their energy is often infectious, and you will leave conversations with them even more excited about Gatsby.
The worst parts of this job
• Product and strategic direction can change. We’re building a whole new area of growth in an absolutely huge potential market. If we’re not changing directions relatively quickly, that would be surprising.
• You will need to ruthlessly prioritize your workflow. Because our user audience is so diverse, there’s a huge amount of potential things to do at any time. You’ll need to be comfortable with thoughtfully choosing where to focus and communicating that.
• Stakeholders are dispersed far and wide. The largest clustering of people in one place is 5 folks in our Berkeley office. We have a strong sense of identity and are very close, but if in-person interactions with a large number of people is important to you then this may not be a good fit.
Benefits
• Unlimited vacation policy, with a minimum of 15 days paid vacation time
• Skip the commute with remote work
• Stock options in a fast-growing startup
• Amazing health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family (US only)
• 3 months of paid parental leave covering both adoption and foster placement
• Fly to cool locations 3x/year for company-wide meetups
• Gatsby Sabbatical: 4 weeks paid vacation after 4 years tenure

• Senior Product Manager (Developer Tooling & Integrations)

Want to make building for the web radically simpler? We’d love your help.

About Gatsby

The web is a critical resource for all of humanity in the 21st century. Gatsby makes creating for the web dramatically better by making creating novel experiences easier -- shortening the time to try experiments, collaborate around changes, and to deploy incremental improvements. Gatsby has quickly grown to be one of the biggest and most exciting open source projects on the web, with almost 100,000 developers using Gatsby every month.

Site builders have become incredibly popular in the last five years for good reasons. They make it easy for anyone (not just developers) to build and run compelling websites. That’s amazing….until it’s not, and you need something custom that the tool didn’t account for.

We don’t think the first generation of page builders are the right solution for most organizations. Companies need #nocode that’s modular, not monolithic. We’ve been building a lot of the pieces of this -- a visual editor, consistent, application-wide theming, composable, reusable website pieces, and 450+ integrations

But building the pieces isn’t enough. In the shift from monolithic to modular, we need to be defining the interfaces between Gatsby and the content mesh (search, analytics, forms, functions, authentication, payments, etc). And then we need to be creating a seamless, integrated experience that pulls all of the pieces together. Think: Dell assembling modular pieces (graphics/video cards, motherboards, hard drives, other peripherals) into a seamless, unified whole.

And that’s where you come in :)

What you’ll do on a day-to-day basis:
• Systematically reduce friction to craft the optimal day one experience for non-technical users. Taking our basic visual editor (Blocks) and making it industrial-strength, best-in-class experience will require heads-up observation of developer workflows and methodical analysis in order to bring them into the tool.
• Co-conspire with a pioneering group of engineers. The Themes team (John Otander, Brent Jackson, Max Stoiber, Rikki Schulte) have been thinking about design tooling for the last several years and have built out a number of prototypes. Your job won’t be to tell them what to do -- it will be to co-conspire with them to create the future together.
• Work together with design on user research: prototyping, user testing, etc. One of the ways you’ll be able to help is rigorous user testing across different user groups. What features do different types of marketers want? Content folks? Designers?
• Apply paradigms from other development frameworks. Visual editors have been popularized in mobile development (Xamarin), game development (Unity), etc. We need to learn and apply best practices from these worlds to the web.
• Careful interface and API design. With relevant engineering counterparts, you’ll work through the appropriate interfaces between Gatsby and the content mesh -- search, analytics, forms, etc -- in order to simplify user workflows.
• Collaborate across the content mesh community. Integrations have lots of stakeholders! We want to carefully consider the needs and desires of the community and partners across the content mesh in order to build an interface that works well with the vast diversity of services on the web.
Experience & Qualities

You’ll need to hit the ground running, which means experience getting your head around these aspects as quickly as possible.

• Launched products successfully in a startup. We’re iterating rapidly on a number of fronts, and tend to optimize for quickly getting product in the hands of users (and receiving feedback) over Platonic feature-completeness. Whether you’ve been a product manager, or a founder, you have experience putting all the puzzle pieces together.
• Comfortable inventing the future. The future never repeats but it does rhyme. You need to be comfortable trusting your intuition in a domain where there’s aren’t established comparables for the work you’re doing.
• Know how to build for developers. Whether you’re actually coming from a developer background, you know how to think about developer experience, API design, and so on
• Great judgment.
Your ability to get the right feedback and align the company will rely heavily on thoughtful synthesis of internal and external conversations, strategic planning in product documents, and clear communication to all stakeholders.
• Leverage metrics to focus on value. You have experience using data and metrics to back up, or question assumptions. You leverage your strong analytical skills and ability to dive deep to develop a nuanced understanding of your product and customers.
• High level of curiosity. The web is an incredibly diverse place with a huge number of different communities. You’re fascinated to learn about the challenges, workflows, and hopes and dreams of a wide variety of people.
• Trustworthiness. A great product manager is trusted deeply by the engineering team. Tech leads and engineering ICs feel comfortable DM-ing their product manager at any time when they run across product questions in their day-to-day work, because they can count on getting accurate, thoughtful, helpful context.
The best parts of this job
• Your role will be key in making Gatsby the next way to build on the web—and a technology that enables the next billion internet users. ‘Nuff said.
• You’ll have an opportunity to play a huge leadership role in a high-profile, growing company.
• Dealing with the complexity of the web. The web is an incredibly diverse place, which means we’re going to be getting a ton of signal from different groups of people, likely pulling us in different directions. You’ll need to be able to thoughtfully manage the complexity and point the way forward.

• Skip the commute with remote work
• Stock options in a fast-growing startup

• About Us

Mokriya takes software seriously. We’re pragmatic crafters who believe in smart and focused development, building clients’ products just as we do our own: investing heavily in design, iterating rapidly to validate and falsify ideas, and pursuing perfection in every interaction. We learned a lot of interesting things along the way about the right way to ship software, and we're now bringing our incredible software product experience to larger companies like Verizon, Google, Intel, Twitter, Sony, L'Oréal— and we do this all with a fully distributed team.

We believe that well-made software can change the world, no matter how small or simple a product might be. We also believe that poorly-made software —badly-designed, badly-developed, or badly-supported— is a preventable tragedy.

Mokriya’s mission is to make great software: for ourselves, for our clients and most importantly for our users.

About You

You love to build. When you're not at your job, you're probably tinkering on some contraption in the basement or figuring out how to take apart . You get a thrill from figuring out a clever way to solve a problem. You are a good software tester with strong programming fundamentals and you really take pride in knowing the ins and outs of the programming languages and libraries you are working on. You are a product-focused Engineer that cares about details and—this is obvious—you take pride in your work.

If this sounds like you, and you've been working on Scala, you should apply. We strongly encourage and are proponents of diversity.

Why should I be excited to work here?

First, it’s fun. Not in the “everyone pretend to have fun, we’re a startup, where are the Nerf guns?” way, either. It’s fun to work at Mokriya because beyond the perks and good times, we’re a happy team of people who love to design and build great products. It’s not just that we have a great organizational structure in which everyone is really empowered to act; it’s also that we hire for fit and bring in folks only if we’re confident in their integrity, capability, and drive.

No one will watch over your shoulder, and you won't have to spend time watching over anyone else's either. We’re a talented team of doers. There’s little bureaucracy, and we hate blocking. Our product managers spend their time making sure you can get things done in the way that best suits your preferences and the project needs.

Autonomy, creativity, thoughtfulness, trust: if you care about those things, you'll be happy here. And more importantly, we'd be honored to hire you.

• Alley interactive

Alley is a team of experienced strategists, designers and developers who create digital solutions for large-scale publishers including news organizations and non-profit institutions. We are seeking a Scrum Master with experience using agile methodologies, preferably in an agency or professional services context, to join our team in guiding clients and team members through production projects and beyond.

Qualified applicants should display excellent verbal and written communication skills, quick and creative problem-solving, resourcefulness, flexibility, approachability, and superior attention-to-detail. You’re expected to keep track of everything happening on your team since no detail is too small — so be sure to include “Welcome to the world of tomorrow!” in your cover letter to be considered. The ability to effectively work remotely is a must. Additionally, the ability to identify when to raise an impediment or blocker and how, when, and why to raise concerns with the client and/or internal team is crucial.

This is a fun, fast-paced and, at times, intense environment where the ability to multi-task and prioritize is essential. You will be expected to inherit and iterate upon our Scrum principles and work with the entire team to ensure that all of our projects adhere to them.

Responsibilities

• Simultaneously manage production/maintenance of several client engagements in the context of a single dedicated Scrum team.

• Guide the team through Scrum rituals — sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospective, and the daily standup.

• Participate in the broader community of Agile Process Leaders at Alley, and help senior leaders understand and resolve the impediments your team may be facing.

• Understand and manage client expectations throughout the life of a project.

• Effectively and efficiently engage with large teams of clients and coworkers.

• Schedule, collaborate, plan, and run in-person, on-site meetings or remote meetings with large groups of client stakeholders.

• Maintain transparency of progress — making work visible — throughout the lifetime of a project for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Digest large amounts of information from meetings and translate/condense into “actionable items” and/or reference materials for team members.

• Anticipate and remove potential roadblocks to ensure team efficiency.

Qualifications

• Service-oriented and outspoken, ability to proactively and aggressively manage expectations.

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively via tools such as Zoom, Slack, Google Apps, and Jira.

• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, ideally in the context of an agency, professional services firm, or media technology organization.

• Must be able to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.

• Experience working with agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and the values and philosophies that make it a successful project management approach.

• Familiarity with project management/issue tracking systems such as Jira and time tracking systems such as Harvest.

• Ability to travel to visit clients for major events (kickoffs, etc.) — typically only a few times per year.

• Certified Scrum Master preferred but not required. If you are CSM certified, include in your cover letter the company that conducted your scrum training and which certifying body your certification is from.

About Alley

We offer competitive salaries and company subsidized medical, dental and vision benefits. We also offer a 401(k) with company matching, a profit sharing plan, and a monthly lunch allowance.

We have no set hours and have a flexible time off policy. We trust our team members to get their work done and take the time off they need to recharge, and we suggest an average of three weeks off per year.

We are a fully distributed company, meaning we don’t have a set work location. Team members can choose to work from home or from a co-working space. We’ll furnish your home office or rent you a co-working space.

Alley is an equal opportunity employer and we seek to increase diversity in the tech industry. We encourage applications from women, people of color, people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ community, and other communities traditionally underrepresented in this field.

Apply for a Position

Please complete the application - be sure to send your resume and supply a few references.

Recruiters: Please do NOT contact us about this job. All hiring duties at Alley are carried out by our staff.

hi there, thanks for stopping by.

What follows is a bit lengthy, but will give you a better idea of what we do, what we value and how we work.

what we do

You know those websites that make it impossible to add an item to your cart, sign up for a newsletter or enter your credit card information? Sooo frustrating, right?! Instead of buying the pants or entering your email, you throw up your hands, mutter a curse word or two and immediately head over to YouTube to watch cat videos.

At surefoot, we make life easier for web surfers and shoppers like you.

We ease user frustrations, improve conversions and craft data stories that help our clients make sound, data-informed business decisions.

How, you ask?

In short, we formulate hypotheses based on data from sources like Google Analytics, HotJar and customer service data, which allow us to identify the biggest friction points on our clients’ sites. Then, we validate or invalidate our hypotheses in the form of A/B tests, whose results we (you) analyze to determine the optimal site experience.

data analyst role and requirements

As a data analyst at surefoot, your human interaction will mostly consist of conversations with our strategic directors and clients. However, your primary interactions will be with our clients’ datasets. We’ll look to you to analyze the results of our clients’ tests and distill that hard data into digestible “data stories” that can be universally understood by everyone from the intern to the CEO.

In other words, some of your time will be spent crunching numbers while the other portion will be spent translating those numbers to English, helping “non-numbers speaking people” understand what the data means.

If you’re still with us, here are the requirements:

must-haves

• 4-5+ years of professional experience in data analysis and statistics

• 3+ years of deep experience with Google Analytics

• preferably GAIQ certified

• working knowledge of statistical frameworks and concepts pertinent to A/B testing, including Frequentist and Bayesian statistics, p-values, confidence intervals, minimum detectable effect, etc.

• top notch communicator with good writing skills, grammar and grasp of the English language

• demonstrated expertise communicating results and actionable insights from in-depth analysis to decision makers

• experience developing Keynote or Google Slides presentations with a strategic focus

• exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail (e.g., if you found an error in this job description, it is still bugging you)

• self-motivation, ability to work independently and remotely

• strong desire to continuously learn and grow

• craves feedback and accepts it with gratitude

• high emotional intelligence

• hobbies outside of work

nice-to-haves

• experience with A/B testing or personalization

• experience writing SQL, wrangling spreadsheet data, and analyzing data using R or Python

• experience with tools like Optimizely, Dynamic Yield, VWO, HotJar, Mixpanel

• interest in the outdoors or staying active (many of our clients fall into the outdoors and active lifestyle industry)

• funny GIF library, good emoji usage, sense of humor

nitty gritty details

• Base salary: $90,000 to $110,000 (depending on experience) + benefits (health, paid vacation and holidays, self care bonuses, all-hands trips, fully remote team)

• The position is open to U.S. (W2) and Canadian-based (independent contractor) applicants only. No Visa sponsorship is provided.

our values and culture

Our values are extremely important to us and we stake the company on them. This means that even the Grand Poobah of analysts won’t be considered if our values don’t align.

be nice and do the right thing. We firmly believe that this world could use a bit more kindness so we strive to infuse it throughout our interactions – with clients, each other, our communities and all those we meet. Doing the right thing means we refuse to waiver on doing what is best for our business or our clients, even if it means less upside for us.

own your mistakes, learn from them and move on. Our preferred path is to “fail fast”. In other words, identify your mistakes, take ownership, discuss what you learned, identify solutions for ways to correct them so they don’t happen again and move on.

dedication to your craft and our clients. While we do track how many hours are spent working on each client, we value output over hours. As long as you’re a US citizen, we don’t much care where you work from. However, we do care a whole damn lot that your work is done with efficiency, precision and pride.

channel your inner entrepreneur and make it easy for people to say “yes”. If a process isn’t working or hindering you in some way, don’t wait to be asked to fix it. Instead, like Nike says, Just Do It™. Make it work for you. Experiment. You’re a smart, capable person so don’t ask permission. Arrive with a well-thought-out solution that makes it easy for everyone to say “yes” to, you smarty, you.

ready to apply?

Since we are a remote team, we have a somewhat atypical interview process. For the first step of the interview phase, we ask applicants to show basic competency in the necessary skill sets.

If all is well there, you’ll move on to phase two which involves a Zoom video call to get to know one another a bit better. If we’re feeling good about that, we’ll contact your references.

And finally, if your references check out and confirm you’re not a stabber, we’ll ask you to do some actual paid work with us to determine fit for both parties.

To apply, compose an email to [email protected] and [email protected] with the following:

1. your responses to these 3 short exercises: https://sf.surefoot.me/qlknJs

2. any relevant experience you have with a/b testing, data analysis, user research, etc.

3. contact info for 3-4 references (will only be contacted if you move through phase 1)

All applicants will receive a response. surefoot is an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to building a company that embraces and celebrates diversity and inclusion. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
