If you want to have a greater impact in the open source ecosystem by enabling our Customers to use new
technology to build better software faster - then you should keep reading.

We are searching for another great Customer Support Engineer to support our APAC customers.   While this is a 100% remote role, we are looking for the Engineer to be based in Singapore.

Our CSEs also identify common patterns and/or challenges customers are facing so as to influence the evolution of the product portfolio and best practices. Note - Although this is a 100 % remote role, we expect that travel to customer locations will initially be 35% - 45%.

      Why this role matters
Our customers are enterprise architects, security officers, developers, DevOps managers. We offer them
subscriptions to valuable software that works. As long as our customers value their investment, they
continue to renew and expand their deployments. No value = no growth and no renewal.

Fortunately, our customers find us easy to work with (as reported via customer sat surveys). They trust
Sonatype and value their investments, as demonstrated by our 90%+ renewal rate -- one of the highest
renewal rates in the software subscription business.  But we choose not to rest on our laurels.
If our customers are not optimized, properly deployed, or have compromised rollouts due to their lack of
time, technical know-how/resources, or understanding of best practices - it will inhibit our mutual ability to
achieve success and expansion. That is why this role is so important.

      What our CSEs do
      • Coach and educate a set of customers on implementation and usage best practices for the Sonatype Nexus Platform to ensure smooth on boarding, faster adoption, increased footprint, etc.
      • Share field insights with your peers in Customer Success as well as our Sales, Product Marketing, and Engineering teams. Provide feedback on how to bring more valuable features to the product based on customer reactions and your hands-on experiences.
      • Discover and analyze gaps in the customer experience, identifying early warning signals and then working with cross-functional teams to address them
      • Act as the voice of the customer - use your insights to help us drive improvements, influence product roadmap, deploy customer advocacy programs, etc.
      • Ensure customers are SUCCESSFUL and DELIGHTED with Sonatype products and services, not merely satisfied

      What we are Looking For
      • Our CSEs have from many different types of backgrounds including DevOps Engineers, Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Solutions Architects. While they paths are different, they all share the following:
      • Broad knowledge of modern software development life cycles and the tooling that development organizations use to build applications is important
      • Ability to travel 35%
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
      • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
      • Well-honed project management and organizational skills
      • The desire to build long-term relationships and help our customers be successful

      What We Offer
      • The opportunity to be part of an incredible, high-growth company, working on a team of experienced colleagues
      • Competitive salary package
      • Business casual dress
      • Flexible work schedules that ensure time for you to be you
      • 2019 Best Places to Work Washington Post and Washingtonian
      • 2019 Wealthfront Top Career Launch Company
      • EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2019
      • Fast Company Top 50 Companies for Innovators
      • Glassdoor ranking of 4.9
      • Come see why we've won all of these awards

We are 300 employees from diverse backgrounds, that hail from 50 countries, and speak 15 languages. But, we all share one thing in common: we’re passionate about accelerating software innovation. • Join us in our mission to make website development fun by making it simple

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the team dedicated to driving Gatsby’s open source project. Join us in our mission to make website development fun by making it simple.

      About us

Gatsby is a remote-first, community-focused team working to build a high-performance, fun to use, accessible, and astonishingly flexible presentation layer for any data source. Our core values include transparency (our work is public most of the time); creating a safe, high-trust team; building incredible developer experiences; maintaining a healthy working environment; and helping deliver web experiences that feel amazing to use on every device and connection type.

      Details of the role

      Type of Work: Full-time employee

      Location: Remote

      Why we need you

Gatsby is the future of the web, and the web is an incredibly diverse ecosystem. This means we need leaders who can intuitively appreciate the value that the commercial services we build offer customers. The open source team is expanding rapidly and we need someone with a deep understanding of the very cool technology, but an equally profound sense of empathy required to grow both individual contributors and future leaders in this critical part of our company.

      Why this is interesting

Gatsby is a wildly popular open-source framework that is changing the architecture of the web. The open-source team is responsible for driving the roadmap for the large and complex codebase that is Gatsby.js. Between their own contributions and the community, they merge nearly 500 pull requests in a typical month. You’ll help lead the team in not only tackling key technological challenges, but also bolstering and focusing community contributions.

      Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for people, projects, and processes. You will partner with your team and peers to:

      • Foster an inclusive environment through empathy, not just inside engineering, but across all the teams in Gatsby, and beyond to the open source community.

      • Wrangle many timezones and introduce remote work best practices, as you will lead a geographically diverse team.

      • Exercise good judgement in interacting with the enthusiastic community, as an exemplar for your team in this area.

      • Partner with Product and Design to find the best blend of quality, agility, and work/life sanity.

Make sure your team is fully equipped for their job, including:

      • Context - make sure they know what is happening outside engineering

      • Vision - make sure they know what it coming next, even if we’re not there yet

      • Skills - ensure that each team member grows and feels confident in delivery

      • Tools - choose and evolve the dev environment (with the team’s input)

      • Processes - hand-in-hand with tools, make sure that we’re continuously evolving our planning and dev approach to have just enough structure to keep us on track

      • Empower your team members by offering them clear ownership of technical challenges in a world where you and other leaders are still wearing many hats and finding the ones with the best fit.

      • Collaborate with other engineering managers to evolve the management practices at Gatsby. We’re all learning more every day!

This might be you if you….

      • Have successfully managed people, including recruiting and hiring, coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and promoting.

      • Have experience working with (and ideally contributing to, or managing) open source communities and products.

      • Have strong communication skills, verbal and written.

      • Genuinely enjoy helping people, both inside the company and out.

      • Have a consistent track record of delivering high-quality software in regular, iterative releases through coordinating a remote team.

      • Are able to coordinate and work with teams and stakeholders across the organization, and even beyond the company, including effective project management skills in an environment where you may not control many of the variables.

      • Have previous experience with React, Node.js, and GraphQL. Gatsby is built on React, Node, and GraphQL, so you should be experienced with usage and the syntax.

      • Have strong empathy and a willingness to define the nuances of team roles (including your own!) as you go.

The best parts of this job

      • The people and culture of a team genuinely invested in building something great.

      • You’ll be helping curate one of the most popular, fastest growing open source frameworks in the world.

      • You’ll be leading a group of supportive, talented, and friendly people towards delivering a great framework and developer experience.

      • You’ll have the opportunity (even expectation) to constantly learn and innovate, in both tech approaches and process definition.

      • Your role will be key to making Gatsby the next way to build on the web—and a technology that enables the next billion internet users.

      • You will get to look back on this time as the “early, exciting days” of Gatsby. You’ll get to watch members of your team become future leaders and luminaries in a space that isn’t fully defined or formed yet.

The worst parts of this job (maybe)

      • The community and our team aren’t always operating as equals, and don’t always have perfectly aligned motivations. Your job includes the unenviable task of helping us figure out the right focus in a variety of complex situations, and with a wide range of (understandable, but sometimes mutually exclusive) community expectations.

      • We’re all still figuring a lot of stuff out. Things can feel unstructured or messy. Part of your job is to smooth out what we collectively don’t like. And that can be hard.

      • The company is growing fast, which means lots of people wearing lots of hats, and sometimes exchanging them for new ones. Doing this while protecting a team (or individual’s) sense of ownership and security is hard. And it’s part of this job. Sorry.

      • Product and strategic direction can change. We’re building a whole new area of growth in an absolutely huge potential market. Absorbing (and/or pushing back as you see fit) that change so your team doesn’t feel unnecessary churn is also hard. And also part of this job. Still sorry.

      Benefits

      • Unlimited vacation policy, with a minimum of 15 days paid vacation time

      • Amazing health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family (US only)

      • Skip the commute with remote work

      • 3 months of paid parental leave covering both adoption and foster placement

      • Fly to cool locations 3x/year for company-wide meetups

      • Stock options in a fast-growing startup

      • Gatsby Sabbatical: 4 weeks of paid vacation after 4 years tenure

      Equal Opportunity Statement

Gatsby is an equal opportunity employer. We eagerly seek applicants of diverse backgrounds and hire without regard to race, color, gender identity, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, physical abilities (or disability), age, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Cultivating inclusivity and diversity is a top priority.

Headhunters and recruitment agencies may not submit resumes/CVs through this website or directly to managers. Gatsby does not accept unsolicited headhunter and agency resumes, and will not pay fees to any third-party agency or company that does not have a signed agreement with Gatsby.

      • Ability to analyze and report on content and social performance

      • Experience with WordPress, Google analytics, and the top social channels

      • Project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment and focus on the delivery of results in the form of engagement, leads and sales

    • Our mission is to build financial management technologies that enable the world’s most important companies to grow more quickly in a sustainable way that’s good for people, the planet, and business.

When companies have strong cash flow performance they can shift from short-term acrobatics to long-term growth and innovation. These are the teams that change the world by being freed to optimize for all of their stakeholders, including their employees, business partners, and environment.

      The Opportunity

Cash flow is the toughest financial statement to understand but it’s fundamental to funding your own growth. We build the most intuitive and actionable tools for companies to optimize cash flow performance. Our platform analyzes billions of dollars of B2B transactions each year, users spend 70% of their workday in Tesorio, and we save finance teams thousands of hours. As a result, they can invest more confidently and anticipate their capital needs further in advance.

We’re growing quickly and working with the world’s best companies and the largest bank in the US. We recently raised a $10MM Series A led by Madrona Venture Group and are backed by top investors including First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Floodgate. We’re also backed by tenured finance execs, including the former CFOs of Oracle and NetSuite

We’re now looking for a frontline marketing leader who can shape a narrative for a new category while providing air cover to sales. Imagine the following untapped resources at your fingertips:
+ A product with an NPS of 82 and over 50% DAU/MAU that beats the competition 9/10 times
+ Customers at highly recognizable companies eager to get the word out, and they call us when they switch jobs
+ Founders & CFOs of the top finance tools (NetSuite, Oracle, Adaptive Insights) as investors and resources for thought leadership (see example here)

As the ideal candidate, you have been the top direct report to the CMO at a company that feels like it came out of nowhere and you’re ready to run the playbook yourself. Think of companies like Drift, Superhuman, Airtable, Notion, or G2 Crowd that have crafted an aura around themselves. As the Director of Marketing, you will eagerly do the work yourself, but judiciously focus where you have the biggest impact. That means that you will manage an in-house team of 1-2, plus contractors when necessary, to give yourself leverage and bring in needed expertise. In short, people will be in shock when they see what we’re accomplishing and you tell them it’s just a 2-3 person marketing team.

Our team is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we have a diverse, distributed workforce in five countries. We don’t believe that people need to sacrifice being close to their families and where they’d prefer to live in order to do their best work.

      Your Motivators
      • You are energized by the challenge of figuring out how sophisticated buyers make purchasing decisions and designing a multi-channel, integrated marketing strategy to target them (content, events, paid ads, webinars, drip campaigns, retargeting, etc.)
      • You love storytelling and have strong editorial chops (e.g. you see First Round Review and want to create your own)... Quality content over high volume noise
      • You think that category design can be tactically executed while also supporting near-term sales objectives, you’ve probably read Play Bigger at least once
      • When you see brands or your favorite products, you like coming up with better stories and positioning that could push them to the next level, almost for fun
      • You have an experimental approach to rapidly test channels and ideas cost-effectively to identify where you need to double down without getting stuck in analysis mode
      • You are eager to collaborate with the CEO, Product, and Customer Success to turn our customer advisory board into an amplification platform
      • You run independently and seek the freedom of a blank slate reporting directly to the founder/CEOAt the same time, you build marketing cultures that collaborate well with sales, engineering, product, HR, and customer success
      • You’ve created such strong teams in the past that you have go-to people in your network who you can bring in to drive quick results because they love working with you

      • Own our product requirement documentation, keeping it comprehensive and up-to-date

      • Distill our product feature requirements into an actionable backlog of epics and tickets (JIRA)

      • Pair with our QA team to produce clearly defined acceptance criteria and tests for our product
