      Due to ongoing growth, we’re hiring a Machine Learning - Infrastructure Engineer to join the Machine Learning team. You’ll join a team of highly focused engineers developing for a platform that supports over 90k engineers and processes millions of AI and ML workloads. Our team has worked on building billion dollar products at Amazon, Danger, Microsoft, Socrata, and Paypal.       What does the Machine Learning team do?

      The Machine Learning team is empathetic to our users. We build and deploy models, experience the whole Machine Learning lifecycle. We turn that experience into stories, content, demos, and perhaps most importantly, feedback into the product. We can split our responsibilities into three broad categories that contributes to the company's mission:


      The ML team thinks about the best practices for machine learning systems, and tries to be on the forefront of thought leadership in our space. We produce blogs and technical demos. This isn’t limited just within the Algorithmia platform, but includes full pipelines demonstrating the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle. We keep an eye on newly released open-source models, and add them to the platform. However, this responsibility is secondary to the focus on how to do machine learning in production.


      The ML team drives value to the company through what it brings to the product. Many features developed by the ML team is being used in customer demos. The team adds & maintains new programming languages & runtime environments for algorithms. We keep up with the developments in all major ML frameworks. We try out common ML workflows, and work with product to ensure the platform can support those integrations.


      The ML team provides deep technical support at the algorithm/model level.

      As a Machine Learning Engineer at Algorithmia, you will:

      • Write production-quality code that solves real world problems, in any of our supported algorithm development languages

      • Create blog posts, integrations & demos for end-to-end machine learning systems

      • Build & maintain build/runtime environments for all major machine learning frameworks: Tensorflow, PyTorch, MXNet, Caffe, AllenNLP, SpaCy, etc

      • Develop tools to use for Data Scientists from top Fortune 100 companies around the world

      • Work with a passionate, distributed team on the cutting edge of AI/ML infrastructure

      • Have a real career plan, with mentorship and fast-track opportunities to promotion, technical leadership, people management, or wherever your interests may be

      • Work anywhere in the US or Canada

      And we might make the perfect match if you:

      • Are a skilled software engineer with experience in more than one programming language  (such as Python, Java, Scala, etc.) and deep understanding of at least one (we do a lot of Python - and will be happy to teach you the other languages)

      • Have deep empathy for users, and understand that Algorithmia would not exist without them

      • Experience working on distributed systems, industry data science, any kind of public AI/ML projects, distributed or parallel computing, or the implementation of something cool on our AI marketplace (hint: free trial!)

      • Are current on the state-of-the-art in machine learning algorithms in the industry

      • Having practical experience or a degree (MS/PhD is a plus) in Computer Science including practical areas of Machine Intelligence (or Deep Learning), and excellent fundamentals in computer science, algorithms, and software design

      What does it mean to be a Core Development Lead at eyeo?

      You will be responsible for making sure that the unit’s teams have all the support, autonomy and focus that’s needed to be successful. You will report directly to the CTO. 

      What is a unit?

      • Units are our means to scale and focus eyeo. They provide a framework for aligning teams towards a shared goal.

      • The unit is comprised of approx. 25 people:

      • Approximately half will report indirectly to you (they will be managed by Section Leads—your right-hand people)

      • Approximately a quarter (such as section leads, data scientists, machine learning experts and QA engineers) will report directly to you

      The unit is made up of teams covering these topics:

      • Desktop browser extension core development

      • Android SDK development

      • iOS SDK development

      • Ad-blocking quality

      • Industry relations

      • Within our teams, we have cross-functional groups of peers working together to build our products.

      How you can help us (with people)

      • Create the unit’s strategy, goals and initiatives, along with the teams

      • Ensure the unit has clear KPIs

      • Report KPIs regularly, and continuously work to improve them

      • Ensure the flow of information with product owners in order for them to be able to prioritize and maintain their backlogs autonomously, and to make the best product-related decisions

      • Align across the company and with other units on strategic and tactical topics

      • Continuously support the unit with goal alignment, proper tooling, facilitation and community-ship

      • People management and cross-company knowledge sharing and culture

      • Administrative work (budget, spending, hiring, evaluation, salaries, etc.)

      How you can help us (with tech)

      • Maintain and improve the high quality of our core technologies (code and filter lists)

      • Security and maintainability of the tech stack and legal compliance of our filter lists

      • Create comprehensive documentation and specs

      • Establish our core technologies as products, ensuring proper product and release management

      • Improve our ad-blocking quality in the face of circumvention techniques

      • Close collaboration with industry-related representatives (e.g. browser companies, other ad-block companies)

      • Constantly improve our ways of working, tech stack and development processes (e.g. by applying automation and machine learning technologies)

      What you bring to the table

      • Deep, customer-centric understanding of our partners’ and own products’ technology needs

      • Knowledgeable and passionate about developing both software and people

      • Continuously stay up-to-date on technology developments relevant to your work

      • You think in a systematic and analytical manner

      • You show a high degree of self-organization, initiative and motivation

      • Great communicator who can build bridges between people from different fields and backgrounds, and help them learn how to build those bridges themselves

      • Pragmatic, flexible and humble. You listen to your reports and support them rather than directing them.

      • Well-versed with agile values and methodologies. We do not require specific methodologies or certifications, but we want you to have a strong understanding, and the ability to teach.

      We’re looking for a user experience and design manager to lead, nurture, and grow our incredible product design team. The ideal candidate is someone that has led and grown design teams, has a track record of successful mentorship, and has a design vision and skillset aligned to accelerate Netlify’s ambition of a world-class developer experience for web developers. The candidate should have demonstrable success launching and iterating world-class design experiences with their team.

      This person should be a strong partner with product and engineering and should push us to constantly and consistently deliver a great user experience. The candidate should have experience in implementing and leading design processes and systems. They should be well versed and opinionated in modern design best practices, utilizing quantitative and qualitative data as part of the design process, and bring fresh ideas and methods for product design and discovery.

      The ideal candidate should be passionate about injecting design thinking into our product process and has demonstrable ability doing so. They've lead initiatives like design sprints and have onboarded engineering and product teams into design-thinking processes, making it integral to the product development process. They fight for the end-user while balancing the overall product and business needs of the org. The candidate should show wins of their design teams being integral to the success of their products and companies, contributing new ideas and big product wins, and creating a system around doing so.

      About the role:

      This management role will oversee the product design team which includes Product and UX Designers. In this role, you will have individual contributors reporting to you. You will need to help hire and grow the team.

      You should love helping your team grow and develop, taking care of their professional growth needs as well as quality of day-to-day work life, being an advocate for their work and developing a strong sense of direction.

      You'll be a confident leader with the ability to facilitate conversations and decision-making within the team. You'll be responsible for setting, tracking and communicating metrics around work output and goals.

      In addition to people management responsibilities, you will need to establish a hiring process for the Product design and research. You will focus on building a happy, healthy and diverse team.

      You will work help develop metrics for your function that represent their work and contributions.

      You will also work closely with other managers and leaders within the organization to plan projects, schedule resourcing for those projects and identify risks.

      We have a small headquarters in San Francisco but we are a largely distributed engineering team, so remote applicants are welcome. You will need to enable the team to work productively across different timezones. Fostering good habits of documentation, empathy, and integrity to deliver on committed work are some of the key elements for success on our team. Experience working and managing remote teams is a big plus.

      Clipboard Health (YC W17) is a globally remote team of 70+ people, post product/market fit. We are a marketplace that connects healthcare facilities with nurses nearby. We exist to serve our two separate clients: to give nurses more flexible schedules, and to give healthcare facilities reliable flexible staff.

      You'd lead product and working closely with a fast growing engineering org. Our product today manages millions of dollars of invoices & pay for thousands of participants on both sides of the market. But, we've only scratched the surface in the space of products and experiences we could build, and need your help.

      We're looking for a Head of Product who can ideally quickly become player / coach as we grow and take on people management responsibility. You will not be building things with the hope that people need it, but rather filling the desperate needs of our users while innovating in ways they didn't even know they needed. You'll have to be adaptable, learn quickly and have a deep interest in understanding our business, our users and our product deeply.

      Beyond the basics, what will make you successful here:
