Want to work on a simulation IDE? Build out an interactive designer for models of systems ranging from businesses and hospitals through to the environment and biological systems. Focus on providing first class UX and friendly feedback to help people solve their problems without frustration. Build out new visualisations to let people see their systems clearly.
As one of our first hires, you will work directly with the software engineer co-founder. In this role you will have a large influence on the product and its future, and a large impact on technology choices, UX and style.
Sheetless has a fully statically typed technology stack, a combination of TypeScript and Rust. On the TypeScript side, we're using a base of React/Next.js, Redux and Immer as the core libraries/frameworks. There's also use of web APIs to provide a rich and responsive experience, including SVG, canvas, and WebWorker.
We're using Material UI as our base component library, although as we grow defining a more bespoke style and UX will become more important. As our first frontend-focused member of the team, you will need to be comfortable and capable of designing, prototyping, and building out UI/UX of the platform.
Experience in any of these areas would be a plus (if you have experience in all of these areas then please do contact us!):
TypeScript programming to a comfortable level. Experience in JS or statically typed languages also. Overall experience in the range of 3-5+ years.
React and Redux development, using hooks, or experience in related technologies also (Vue, MobX, etc).
Building custom visualisations, with Canvas, SVG or WebGL.
Working with Rest API web services. GraphQL a plus.
Working with WebSockets for providing interactive client<>client services.
Working with and extending browser code editors, such as Monaco or CodeMirror.
Compensation: £50k – £90k
Equity: 0.5% – 1.5%

As a product engineer at Heap, you’ll build the products that make user behavior useful for everyone.
We have a unique approach to understanding user behavior: capture all the data. This allows people to use Heap who were previously shut out from using analytics at all, so one of the core challenges of the Heap product is building a general-purpose interface that's flexible for power users but still immediately accessible for the masses.
You’ll be on a multidisciplinary team that owns the full stack from the interface to the analytical query engine. You’ll work closely with product management, design, customers, and support engineers to decide how to build features.
Our front-end stack is TypeScript, React and MobX (read more about how we write code, and how we migrated off of Backbone), but your creativity and intelligence are much more important to us than knowledge of our tools.
What we're looking for
We’d particularly like to get to know you if:
you communicate with clarity and precision. We care about this almost as much as your technical ability.
you're passionate, even if it's not about analytics. There should be something you know more about than anyone on our team.
you’ve written 10,000 lines of code that look embarrassing in retrospect. ... and you've written 10,000 lines of good code since then.
you like fruit, sunshine, and bad jokes. We aren't robots.
What you’ll work on
Building new core analysis features. In his second summer at Heap as an intern, Alex added a huge suite of features to all of our analysis modules.
Building tools to help customers manage the vast amount of data Heap capture. Even if you’re non-technical, organizing data from your website is as easy as clicking around your site.
Our office is in San Francisco, but we have engineers around the world. For the product engineering team, we are open to remote engineers in North American timezones. We'd love to hear from you!
Heap has raised $95M in funding from NEA, Y Combinator, Menlo Ventures, SVAngel, Sam Altman, Garry Tan, Alexis Ohanian, Harj Taggar, Ram Shriram, and others.

We’ve raised $18M in funding and are backed by Snoop Dogg’s Casa Verde Capital, one of the leading cannabis-focused VC’s, Gron Ventures, members of the founding team at DoorDash, Kevin Durant’s Thirty Five Ventures, and other notable angel investors.
About the Role
Due to our rapid growth, we are looking for a talented Senior Front-End Engineer to join our team. You will be getting in on the ground-level with us and working on virtually all aspects of the current product and future product development. You'll be working directly with the founding team daily and taking part in technology-related decisions. You will help us build the foundation of this company - its culture, its processes, and its practices. You'll also have the chance to work on everything from analytics software to two-sided marketplaces, to IoT devices. There's a ton of interesting problems to solve.
What You Bring...
3-4+ Years of web development experience required
You take pride in the code you write - it's clean, tested, organized, and elegant
Self-starter - you're proactive and are able to start projects and tasks without constant direction
Quick learner - you pick up new frameworks and technologies quickly
Great communication skills
You want to work in an agile environment - we move quickly and ship code often
You enjoy your time working, but you enjoy your time outside of work too
What You'll Do...
Development of the core application in React, MobX, Node, MongoDB, GraphQL, & React Native
Design and development of new features
It’s a Bonus If You…
Have built software in the e-commerce or regulatory industries
Love using bleeding-edge technology
Enjoy deep conversations about the merits of Radix Trees, The Rete Algorithm, and Oxford Commas
Contribute regularly to open-source projects
Have built mobile apps with React Native
Full Benefits - Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
Flexible vacation days, sick days, and work from home days
Technology (hardware, software, reading materials, etc..) allowance
We're hard-working, high energy, and fun. We have a "do what you need and do what it takes" culture. If you need to work from home or fit in a workacation in order to produce your best work, then, by all means, go for it. As one of the first members of the team at dutchie, you'll also have a great chance to play a foundational role in tech and culture decisions.
