    About Us

At Close, we're building the sales communication and collaboration platform of the future. With our roots as the very first sales CRM to include built-in calling, we're leading the industry in sales automation—helping companies to close more deals, faster than ever. Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a fully profitable, 100% globally distributed team of 34 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

We are seeking a Product Marketing Manager that will be instrumental in defining our product and market positioning and will take ownership of growing our customer base and platform adoption through a wide range of marketing efforts.

This position requires a highly motivated individual with previous experience leading product marketing and GTM strategy, and who is comfortable in a fast-moving  environment. The successful candidate will be customer-oriented, self-motivated and results-driven.

    About You

You have a knack for understanding people. You ask a lot of questions. You’re decisive.

As Product Marketing Manager at Close, your primary job is to understand our customer— what motivates them, what makes their job difficult, and what simply delights them. You will take these constant and ongoing learnings and deftly apply them to the way we position our brand and product to the world. After all, product marketing is at its very core, “people marketing”.

Your previous experience creating successful go-to-market plans (from high-level strategy down to tactical execution) will enable you to oversee the rollout of all new products and feature updates.

Sometimes you’ll be looking at our product marketing from a high level view—say, determining our key objectives for the quarter or the year. Other days, you may be down in the weeds yourself, writing landing page copy or working with others on the marketing team to run A/B conversion tests on site. You’re comfortable—and happy—doing both.

What you don’t know, you’ll openly admit, but then you’ll get to work figuring it out (asking others for help and/or digging deep on your own). Your self-motivation and a relentless drive to learn/do more are appreciated by all. You pride yourself on being a “clever thinker”.  You’re comfortable talking with and working alongside our product, sales, development, and customer success teams. You understand your critical part in the overall machine, graciously accepting thoughts and feedback from others while offering your own expertise where you can. You pride yourself on being “overly communicative” -- keeping everyone up to date with the latest product marketing wins, losses, and initiatives.

You are comfortable working remotely as part of a small team, with a high level of autonomy. You can devise your own schedule and effectively manage your workload based on the biggest opportunities and company objectives.

When you’re in the wrong or make a mistake you can admit it. You can articulate why it happened and how you’ve learned from the experience.

You are in a European or American timezone.

Above all, you understand that your success—and our success—hinges on the satisfaction and loyalty of our customers.

    About The Role

You will be responsible for championing the features and benefits of the Close sales platform through our marketing messaging and market positioning. You’ll work closely with Danny (Director of Marketing) and our motley crew of marketing crushers.

    • Sometimes we meet up! Expect to travel at least two times a year: once for our all-hands meetup and again for a team retreat (each ~4-5 days).

    • We believe in a focused approach to collaboration, where individual team members work on a single top priority at a time, each supporting larger, company-wide objectives. This philosophy serves to impact our vision to raise the standard of trust online.

    This position is remote based.

We're looking for product managers that can help us work on the future of developer tools. Specifically, providing fast and reliable Git repositories for GitLab instances of all shapes and sizes, from simple single server instances up to highly available configuration suitable for massive SaaS loads like GitLab.com. You’ll do this by driving the strategy and execution of Gitaly, a remote procedure call handler to Git repositories.

We believe developers deserve an intuitive, single application that covers the entire DevOps lifecycle. We believe running tests is just the beginning of automation. We believe deploying your code should be automated and repeatable, and most of all, easy. We believe in pushing the boundaries of best-practices, and bringing these to every developer, so that doing the right thing is also the easy, default way of working.

We know there are a million things we can and want to improve about GitLab's support for DevOps workflows. It'll be your job to work out what we are going to do and how.

We work in quite a unique way at GitLab, where lots of flexibility and independence is mixed with a high paced, pragmatic way of working. And everything we do is in the open.

We recommend looking at our company page the product handbook and our product categories to get started.

    Responsibilities

      • Consider the business impact, ROI, and other implications when taking important decisions
    • Take an active role in defining the future
    • Manage the product lifecycle end-to-end
      • Follow feature development end-to-end; provide guidance and feedback to engineers and designers; ensure everyone is aligned
      • Be the voice of the customer and the subject-matter expert for your group
      • Contribute to documentation, blog posts, demos, and marketing materials for product features

      • Talk to customers and engage with the community regularly

      • Work with the entire Product team to share improvements and best practices

You are not (solely) responsible for:

    • Capacity planning: you will define priorities, but the Engineering Manager evaluates the amount of work possible
    • Shipping in time: you will work in a group, but the group is responsible for shipping in time, not you

     Requirements

This also means brevity, clarity of thought, and clarity of communication. We give and take feedback without ego, with the knowledge that we all are operating with good intent. No ego is the check system to balance no BS and keep it kind. No ad-hominem attacks.

This role will involve identifying and prioritizing performance bottlenecks, establishing a performance testing framework, and leading needed architectural changes for additional scalability.

We know there are a million things we can and want to improve about GitLab's support for control, authentication, and measurement of DevOps efficiency. It'll be your job to work out what we are going to do and how.

We work in quite a unique way at GitLab, where lots of flexibility and independence is mixed with a high paced, pragmatic way of working. And everything we do is in the open.

We recommend looking at our company page and the product handbook to get started.

      • Consider the business impact, ROI, and other implications when taking important decisions
      • Make sound decisions for your product/stage, building trust, and driving clarity across all teams at GitLab and the community
      • Mastery of the competitive and market landscape of their product domain and understanding how this landscape impacts their own product roadmap
      • Ability to clearly document ROI or impact for a given action, feature, or prioritization action
      • Conduct advanced ROI analysis on investment cases to determine if GitLab should pursue them
    • Take an active role in defining the future
      • Contribute to the product vision, together with the Head of Product and VP of Product

      • Have a strong presence in customer advisory boards and other customer feedback forums to fully understand customer pain points and how these can be solved in the future
      • Ability to present to C-level executives both internally at GitLab and externally to customers and prospects

You are not (solely) responsible for:

    • A team of engineers: you will take the lead in decisions about the product, but not manage the people implementing it
    • Capacity planning: you will define priorities, but the Engineering Manager evaluates the amount of work possible

  • We're looking to add a new node to the Elastic Product cluster as part of the Product Management team. Since the very early days at Elastic, we’ve been committed to geospatial search and use cases. Elastic Maps is our latest investment in geo. It is a solution in Kibana that enables our community to build maps and analyze geospatial data in real time with the speed and scale that Elasticsearch provides. In addition to Elastic Maps, we also have the Elastic Maps Service, which is a free service for hosted vector tiles and shapes and core to the solution. Kibana empowers millions of users to answer hard questions and analyze large data sets. We view geo as core to Kibana and the Elastic Stack and see significant opportunity in furthering our communities use cases in addition to disrupting existing markets. To be successful in this role you will need to be a self starter, detail oriented, and have experience building out and working with GIS and location driven applications. You will need to be able to balance technical problem solving with product design and usability. If you are passionate about geo, end user experience, and building simple solutions for complex problems we would love to talk to you!

    What You Will Be Doing:

You will work together with the Kibana Product Management team, engineering, customers and other internal stakeholders to position and grow adoption of Elastic Maps. Your focus will primarily be in the areas of geospatial data exploration & visualization, map building features & experiences and our hosted geo services.

You will capture market competitive and trend data, customer and open source community feedback, usage data, and other key information to develop product insights and help drive the product roadmap at scale.

    In addition you will:
    • Gather feedback from the community and customer base to iterate on UIs that are core to the success of Elastic Maps
    • Work closely with our engineering and design teams to introduce new features, workflows and experiences to Elastic Maps and extend to Elastic solutions such as Observability and Security Analytics
    • Build out net new features and products for all geospatial use cases in both self managed and hosted environments
    • Work with support, product marketing, and sales to ensure Elastic Maps is properly supported, promoted, and utilized by the community
    • Provide competitive insight into a variety of products and markets for both sales enablement and engineering awareness
    What You Bring Along:

You are broadly knowledgeable of modern GIS or geospatial applications design concepts, common data schemas and technologies used to serve and analyze geo data, and technologies for geo data analysis trends and techniques.

You are curious about how and why our community and customers utilize and extend the capabilities of the Elastic Stack, specifically Elastic Maps and Kibana.

    In addition, you have:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. CS, CSE, EE) or meaningful work experience in a technical discipline (mandatory)

  • This Senior Product Designer position for our CI/CD team is 100% remote.

    A brief overview:

GitLab is building an open source, single application for the entire software development lifecycle—from project planning and source code management to CI/CD, monitoring, and security.

We started 2019 with a team of 15 Product Designers and Researchers. Right now, we’re in a period of growth, we’ve more than doubled the size of the Product Design team, and we’ve increased the number of GitLab employees from 400 to over 1100 this financial year, too.

At GitLab, we live and breathe open source principles. This means our entire handbook is online, and with a few clicks, you can find the details of future releases, check out our past releases, and see an overview of the product vision you’d contribute to when working here.

As a Senior Product Designer at GitLab, you will be embedded in our CI/CD group. It’s a highly visible and technical area, where you’ll be tasked with improving the onboarding flow for users who are new to our CI tools, building on the vision for CI, and bettering the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery features found within the GitLab product.

What you can expect in a Senior Product Designer, CI/CD role at GitLab:

    • You’ll be tasked with improving the experience of using our CI and CD tooling. The work you’ll do will be impactful and visible to many of our highly technical users.
    • You’ll collaborate with a Product Manager to define the priorities, roadmap, and overall strategy for the future of CI within our product.
    • You'll work alongside Product Managers and UX Researchers to understand the needs of DevOps teams to shape how CI tools are utilized within our product.
    • You’ll come together with our Technical Writers to better our CI and CD documentation and in-product content.
    • You’ll collaborate with our embedded engineering team to uncover and understand the complexities and limitations of in-product CI at GitLab, advocating for the end user in all areas, including on-boarding, ease of use, and visualization of key messaging.
    • You’ll utilize wireframes, prototypes, user flows, mockups, high-fidelity visual designs, or any other artifacts you believe are necessary to convey your design thinking and ideas.
    • You’ll engage with our user base and the wider GitLab community to understand their pain points and work toward long-term fixes that enable them to succeed with their goals.
    • You’ll undertake usability testing to validate your thinking, collaborate with our UX Researchers on generative research, and you’ll share findings with the wider team in our research repo, ensuring recommendations are communicated effectively across our organization.
    • You’ll contribute best-practice pipeline and other CI/CD patterns to our Design System, alongside the rest of the UX team, and the GitLab community as a whole.

Projects you might work on in our CI/CD group:

You’ll spend your time collaborating with a cross-functional team. You could expect to work on improving the experience of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, refining the onboarding flow for new CI/CD users, building on our capabilities to integrate 3rd-party tools with GitLab CI pipelines, or designing a visual editor for GitLab CI yaml files. Beyond this, you’ll be building out a UX strategy for GitLab CI. You’ll consider many edge cases while understanding the needs of a wide range of personas, and you'll work within the technical constraints of our CI/CD product. Outside of work on CI/CD, you’ll also contribute to our Pajamas design system.

    You should apply if:

    • You’ve got experience designing developer tooling or complex web applications that are built for highly technical users.
    • You’ve got some experience designing CI/CD experiences, or knowledge of CI/CD best practices.
    • You’ve got experience working on product strategy and product design for a complex enterprise application or SaaS tool.
    • You enjoy getting involved in research and usability testing, and you continually look to improve your user research abilities.
    • You want to design for a complex product with technical users who have continually evolving needs.
    • You’ve got experience applying your product design skills across user research, UX strategy, wireframing, prototyping, product strategy, and visual design, within a complex domain.
    • The idea of playing a key part in the evolution of our Pajamas Design System is truly exciting to you.
    • You understand frontend code or the limitations of frontend technology. You can demonstrate this through your hands-on coding skills with HTML/CSS/JS, your knowledge of Git, or by showing us you have a deep understanding of the needs of engineers you’ve worked with previously.
    • Our values of collaboration, results, efficiency, diversity, iteration, and transparency resonate with you.
    • You'll thrive in an environment where self-learning and self-service is encouraged and instilled as a part of our culture.

What it’s like to work here at GitLab:

The culture here at GitLab is something we’re incredibly proud of. Because GitLabbers are currently located in over 51 different countries, you’ll spend your time collaborating with kind, talented, and motivated colleagues from across the globe.

Some of the benefits you’ll be entitled to vary by the region or country you’re in. However, all GitLabbers are fully remote and receive a "no ask, must tell" paid-time-off policy, where we don’t count the number of days you take off annually. You can work incredibly flexible hours, enabled by our asynchronous approach to communication. We’ll also help you set up your home office environment, pay for your membership to a co-working space and contribute to the travel costs associated with meeting other GitLab employees across the world. Also, every year or so, we’ll invite you to our Contribute event.

    Hiring Process and compensation:

Our hiring process for this Senior Product Designer position typically follows five stages. The details of this process and the compensation for this role can be found at the bottom of our job family page.

We want to facilitate onboarding to Concurrent DevOps: users may not be aware of its potential, we will show them how easy and powerful it is! We want to support large teams working on mission-critical software across the entire company, and also single developers starting a new visionary project from scratch.

On being a product engineer at balena

All team members at balena are laser-focused on our mission: enabling developers to succeed in IoT and edge computing by helping them deploy and manage tens of thousands of devices across the globe.

As a product engineer, you will act as a product visionary and full-stack engineer at the same time — proactively identifying opportunities and seeing new features throughout the entire lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance. You will own product outcomes, not feature requests, and take into careful consideration balena’s complex, interdependent systems when developing solutions. You will build a deep understanding of what the product is now and what it needs to be in the future, and help inform tradeoff and prioritization decisions. Above all, you will get your hands dirty and build cross-platform capabilities to remove friction for our users.

You will get inspiration both from the balena team and by actively communicating with users to understand how we can better address their needs, anticipate roadblocks and maximize the added value of a feature or solution for them. You will be empowered to take on a user request and own its implementation across any part of the stack — whether that's front-end, back-end, infrastructure, etc. You will solve hard architectural riddles and answer questions like “How do I build this? How does it all fit together?”

You will work both independently and with engineers, designers, product leads, and more in the service of improving users' lives, without regard for internal silos or barriers. You will communicate proposals, discuss with others in the team, incorporate feedback, and drive positive change.

    Responsibilities

    • Talk to users to understand their current and future needs, filter user feedback, analyze product issues, produce requirements, and develop implementations that will enable our users to effectively manage the health of their own fleets
    • Help inform the product roadmap and contribute to prioritization and tradeoff discussions when deciding what to build and focus on
    • Lead the development of new user-centric features across the balena product stack
    • Contribute to documentation and user-facing guides for the implementations you develop
    • Work closely with the customer success team and engineers on support; you’ll often be asked to lend your expertise and contribute to internal docs/scratchpad to extract your knowledge and educate others
    • Constantly question how we can address user needs with long-term product improvements and developments, rather than short-term fixes. Look for ways we can abstract feedback and build generic solutions for all users

    Requirements

    • Breadth of experience, having worked on front-end, back-end and whatever it takes to make users successful and delighted
    • Up-to-date software engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills (both in development and in production mode)
    • Customer-facing skills; ability to understand user needs through conversation and product intuition, articulate their challenges to the team, and build and deploy solutions
    • Drive for execution, taking ownership and pushing projects to completion
    • Humbleness to ask for support from experts within the team when their particular skills are required
    • Ability to both hold the big picture in mind and dive into the weeds
    • Being curious and willing to constantly build on your knowledge of the balena product and new technologies when needed
    • Continuous improvement mindset and desire to make yourself and others more effective
    • Being comfortable working in an environment that practices radical candor and transparency
    • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English

    Bonus points

    • Experience with technologies like Typescript, React, Node.js, Docker, PostgreSQL, or Kubernetes
    • Experience leading software projects or bringing people together to collaborate and build great products
    • Contributions to OSS projects (please include a URL)
    • Interest in embedded systems as demonstrated through personal projects with a Raspberry Pi, commercial or industrial experience with connected devices, etc.
    • Experience with balena as a user
    • Having worked remotely before

Make sure to let us know if any of these items apply to you. If possible, please also share a sample of your work (URL or attachment).

    To apply

We strongly recommend that you have a look at/try our platform first (set up a balenaCloud account, test it and even push an app). Along with your CV/Resume, please answer the questions in our application form to help us get the context right.

    About Argent

Join us as we reimagine the future of money and the internet. Our mission is to make them more open and fair, driving new economic opportunities and putting people in control of their digital lives.

To start we've built the first crypto wallet with the simplicity and security of the best new bank apps - yet we never hold users’ assets. It takes the complexity out of Ethereum and is driven by our dedication to user experience.

We launched in 2018 and have a world-class team with experience scaling mobile apps to tens of millions of users. Our eclectic backgrounds include PhDs in nuclear physics and quantum cryptography. We’re fortunate to be backed by the top VCs in Europe, including Index Ventures, Creandum and firstminute capital.

    The Product Manager role

You'll be at the heart of our aim to build the best product in crypto - and even fintech more widely. This means keeping Argent simple and safe, and crucially also delighting users as they explore the future of the web and of finance.

As our first product manager you'll own every stage of the product, from ideation to launch and analysis. You'll define product goals, test performance and ensure we stay on track.

Crypto is evolving rapidly. You'll understand our users' needs and prioritise how we meet them.

To do this you'll work closely with our founders, designers and engineers.

    Requirements

    • 4 years experience shipping world class products. This would ideally include at scale consumer-facing mobile apps.

    • Deeply passionate about user experience

    • Strong expertise with analytics tools such as Amplitude to understand user journeys and usage

    • Experience managing sprints, prioritising development and coordinating releases

    • Entrepreneurial, spotting opportunities for our growth

    • Comfortable with autonomy and ambiguity

    • Ability to communicate clearly in a remote team

    • A technical background, such as a computer science degree

    How we work

    • We work remotely, transparently and balance Argent with the rest of our lives. We’ve all got loved ones with unpredictable schedules, be they kids or cats.

    • Although we’re a distributed team you'll need to be based in the UK or Europe. This is because we find communication much easier when we’re in similar time zones and a short flight away. Within Europe you can choose to work wherever you like!

    • We get together for a week every quarter so we can collaborate in person, explore new solutions, and have fun. So far we’ve been to Nice, Toulouse, Brussels, Lisbon and Barcelona.

    Equal opportunities

At the heart of what we do is making crypto accessible to everyone. We want the team itself to reflect that diversity so we’d strongly encourage applications from underrepresented demographics.
