Job type: Contract
Hiring from: Asia Only
Foreign Policy is looking for a writer to take on its thriving South Asia Brief newsletter, a weekly digest of major trends and stories from the region that comprises Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The right candidate will have experience reporting from around South Asia and be able to explain to a global audience regional trends in politics, economics, culture, and technology.
This is a part-time contract position with competitive pay.
Our ideal candidate is a freelance writer, editor, think-tanker, or commentator who will use FP’s global platform to cultivate a weekly readership spanning not only policymakers, investors, and academics but also people generally interested in South Asian affairs and geopolitics.
Please include writing samples and a memo explaining how you would construct an edition of FP’s South Asia Brief with your resume submission. Candidates are encouraged to read FP’s other regional newsletters for an example of the writing style and analysis we are looking for.
