For the role our ideal candidate will have mid to senior level of front-end experience, has the ability to use their experience to make balanced technical decisions swiftly and document future improvements. 


You’ll primarily be contributing on our frontend and mobile projects, with scope to grow into other areas of the stack depending on the direction you want your career to grow.


What you can expect in your first 2 weeks:

  • A welcome team meetup in Manchester, then monthly thereafter.
  • A tight-knit team which values transparency
  • Your code will be reviewed, and to review code from our Lead Developer.
  • You’ll likely be shipping code to production in your first week.

- Previous experience working in a remote role with a reliable internet connection.

- A strong desire to work in a small but fast moving team.

- Proficiency with modern Javascript and React.

- Experience using Git, branching and pull requests with descriptive documentation of your work process.

- Exposure to Firebase/Firestore.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide expertise as well as customer service to meet a wide variety of requirements

    • Collaborate with Product Managers and business teams to create consumer-like, elegant, intuitive experience for enterprise users
    • Contribute both technically and in an advisory role to projects
    • Develop and manage extensible, stable code bases for a variety of applications
    • Provide front-end architecture and aesthetic thought leadership
    • Stay current with the fast-changing landscape of React
    • Evaluate frameworks, technology, platforms, and tooling solutions

    Skills & Experience:

    • Strong understanding of the DOM, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
    • Significant experience with the React eco system (Flux, Flow, Redux, routing, etc)
    • Experience front-end tooling workflows: Node.js (NPM), WebPack, Create React App, Flow, Babel, TypeScript, etc
    • Strong understanding of debugging for the browser
    • Experience testing JavaScript code — Jest preferred, but not required

    Senior Engineer (Frontend)

    As a Senior Engineer at Rainforest QA you'll be part of an experienced and diverse team with members all over the world.

    We were built as a distributed team from the beginning and we've committed to implementing tools and processes that allow for and support continuous and effective communication across the world.

    What you'll do

    • Work on the Rainforest QA dashboard, our single page application where users manage their test suite, configure test runs, review results and set up their account

    • Work on our tester application, where our crowd of testers connect to our virtual machine infrastructure to conduct tests and submit their results

    • Work on internal tooling to improve the development experience of other engineers and ship faster and safer

    • Collaborate with product managers and our customer facing teams to analyze customer problems and design high impact features

    • Lead projects to implement those features

    • Help other team members to achieve their goals

    • Continuously learn about new technologies and ways to solve problems

    • Work with our customer facing teams to triage, troubleshoot, and fix bugs

    • Write unit and integration tests (using our own product!) to ship high quality software

    What we’re looking for

    • Extensive experience in Javascript and be extremely knowledgeable of the language and associated ecosystem
