REQUIREMENTS

Currently we are looking for NodeJS Developers. Description of the role you can find below: 

  • Strong Node.JS REST API knowledge

  • Knowledge of AWS Dynamo database

  • Knowledge of AWS Lambda, 

  • Knowledge of Docker

  • Knowledge of AWS EKS

  • Approx. 5 years of general development experience

  • Perfect English speaking 

  • Great interpersonal skills

  • Operating system: MacOS

  • Very good, stable internet connection

    This role will share responsibility for designing, engineering and scaling our backend systems and services.


    We are looking for someone who:

    • Experienced in system design and distributed computing.

    • Has a wide range of experience and expertise across languages, frameworks and approaches such as Javascript, Typescript, and ReactJS, NodeJS, scripting, serverless, and microservices.

    • Has worked with CI/CD processes before (CircleCI/Jenkins preferably).

    Core Responsibilities:
    • Own backend development and contribute to other areas of the product.

    • Develop Shorthand app server-side and API functionality to help improve the customer experience. 

    • Contribute to the technical direction of the Shorthand tool.

    Qualifications:
    • A minimum 10 years of experience in Software Engineering roles.

    • A minimum 3 years of experience in web application development.

    • Thorough knowledge of NodeJS and the web.

    • Experience with AWS.

    • A university qualification in computer science or a closely related field, or equivalent career experience required.

    Reporting to our Content Engineering Manager, the Senior Content Engineer will primarily contribute to the software design and development of our content management and delivery systems among other related tools and services.  As a member of the Content Engineering team, you will often serve as a technical liaison between our content creators (designers, animators, and learning specialists) and client-side engineers that build our portfolio of applications.

    You will:

    • Make direct technical contributions (writing, debugging, reviewing and deploying code).
    • Provide technical guidance and feedback to your team members on a team distributed in several time-zones using agile project management methodologies.
    • Contribute to technical design and architecture of applications, and participate in larger system design efforts.
    • Build automated tests and help maintain existing test suites.

    Must Haves:

    • Demonstrable expertise designing and building fullstack NodeJS services and complex frontend applications.
    • Experience bundling frontend applications with technologies like Webpack
    • Experience in multi-environment deployment strategies for microservice applications.
    • Sound Computer Science fundamentals (Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field preferred).

    Nice-to-Haves:

    • Familiarity with modern application frameworks and languages including TypeScript, React, Redux, and GraphQL.
    • Familiarity with best practices in API design.
    • Familiarity with a variety of datastore technologies (i.e. Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Postgres).
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code technologies (i.e. CloudFormation Template, terraform, ansible).
