Datasembly is a B2B startup that builds next-generation pricing and promotion analysis tools for the grocery & retail industry. Our tools are used by some of the largest names in grocery and retail to create pricing strategies and set price points on thousands of consumer products. All of this is powered by our data, the most comprehensive pricing and product data in the industry.


As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a small team and contribute to all parts of the Datasembly technology stack, including data collection, data processing and analytics, backend web development, and frontend web development.

    • Developing features and improvements to our websites (Jilt.com, SkyVerge.com, hq.skyverge.com, and others)

    • Benchmarking site speed and optimizing performance

    • Iterating on A/B tests with our marketing team to improve conversions

    • Building and maintaining tooling to enable continuous integration and deployment

    • Troubleshooting challenging technical issues with our sites, integrations, and infrastructure

    • Collaborating with team members across marketing, support, design, and engineering to deliver solutions that address customer, team, and company needs

    • Improving our internal wiki & documentation

    What will be your day-to-day?

    • Work with the development and test product teams to build automated test suites for our product

    • Design and implement automated testing tools to improve the software testing process

    • Manage defects ensuring they are correctly captured, reported, tracked and retested

    • Investigate and identify the source of the defects, alert the team and ensure nothing critical goes to Production

    What are the skills and experience needed to do the job successfully?

    • 3+ Years of Experience working as QA Engineer

    • Good object oriented language programming skills

    • Critical thinking and passion for testing and quality

    • Experience with Automation testing frameworks like "Selenium Webdriver" 

    • Knowledge of automation testing of React applications 

    • Familiar with test runners like Jest or enzyme

    • Knowledge of how web applications work including usability and accessibility testing

    • Demonstrable experience with analysis of stories, creation of test cases and exploratory testing

    • Knowledge and experience with Git and Git Workflows

    • Good knowledge of English

  • Role overview

    We are looking for a skilled consultant with a proven track record for high quality and impact delivery. A true craftsperson with experience using elements of the Lightbend Reactive Platform (Java/Scala, Akka, Play, Lagom) who also enjoys breaking down tough problems, and enabling clients to deliver critical solutions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Advise, assist and support software developers, architects, product and business owners to evolve architectures and design solutions.

    • Consult with clients in mid-size to large organizations to integrate elements of the Lightbend stack into their environment.

    • Actively develop software using Java, Scala, Akka, Lagom and Play Framework.

    • Enable our clients to successfully design and implement software solutions based on the Reactive Platform through workshops, mentoring, code reviews, etc.

    • Opportunity to travel extensively.
