Description

Tenzir is seeking an experienced and passionate DevOps engineer who enjoys automating the hell out of a big-data technology stack in a UNIX environment and thereby shaping the infrastructure of a cloud-oriented startup.

Role

  • As a key contributor to our infrastructure, you will improve and automate critical processes for building, packaging, and deploying our technology in various environments. Moreover, you will create integrations with other tools that we interface with. Concretely:

  • Migrate our CI setup to the cloud. We currently use Jenkins for linting, building on various platforms, computing code coverage, executing unit tests, and running integration tests.

  • Automate a continuous release infrastructure that builds static binaries of our tools, generates release notes from changelog entries, auto-generate man pages, and updates the documentation website.

  • Write integrations with other tools from the ecosystem to support a wider range of data formats.

  • Design and implement a simple and user-friendly strategy for software upgrades in production deployments.

    BetterUp is looking for a “Cloud IAM Specialist” that will build our Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes from the ground up. As the Cloud IAM Specialist you will ensure that our internal customers have the best experience possible as consumers of our security services within BetterUp. You will define and automate processes, ensuring that our security, monitoring and response is best in the class. The Cloud IAM Specialist is a member of our Office of Information Security that is led by the Head of Information Security. You will be responsible for administering access to systems that are part of our Corporate infrastructure. You will work in cross-functional teams of Information Security, Product, Engineering, Customer Support, and 3rd-party vendors. You’ll partner and work with every employee at BetterUp!

    Responsibilities:

    • Build and maintain the best in class infrastructure and service related to Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM). The person in this role will be tasked with working closely with our MSP (Managed Service Provider) as well as evaluating the services provided and determine the contract renewal.
    • Build out an escalation process; managing ticket queues and set priorities for the Cloud IAM services.
    • Evaluate existing methods and recommend scalable solutions for improving our Zero Trust Framework.
    • Follow industry-standard security best practices to keep employee data and BetterUp intellectual property safe and secure.
    • Expand and maintain BetterUp’s identity and access management.
    • Document configuration guides, run-books, installation guides, troubleshooting guides required for BetterUp’s identity and access management.
    • Collaborate with various teams for security operations and incident response, as required.
    • Troubleshoot related issues with teams within BetterUp as required.
    • Conduct Proof of Concepts for solutions and technologies required for Cloud IAM.
    • Work closely with our 3rd-party vendors as required.
    • Ensure all employees have access to the resources required to do their jobs while balancing security practices to make sure private data stays private, by partnering with the Director of Privacy and Head of Information Security as needed.
    • Oversee Cloud IAM projects in alignment with Security and organization goals.

    What You Bring:

    • 7 plus years’ progressively responsible to managing user access in fast moving SaaS environment such as start-ups.
    • 3 plus years’ progressively responsible for securing identity and access for highly distributed workforce in 100% cloud / SaaS environment.
    • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent problem solving and communication skills are a must.
    • Excellent at building and managing relationships across teams.
    • Excellent in creating detailed documentation and knowledge share materials.
    • History of project managing company-wide rollout of new technology and processes.
    • Vendor management experience.
    • Ability to lift 20 pounds and configure under-desk cables as needed, including frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and climbing stairs.

    Technical Experience

    • 7 plus years hands-on experience with cloud Identity and Access Management (IDM) technologies such as Okta, SailPoint, Google, Centrify, etc.
    • 7 plus years hands on experience managing unified directory in Cloud using Okta, Google, LDAP, etc.
    • 5 plus years hands-on experience managing device identities and certificates including lifecycle management
    • 5 plus years hands on experience with SCIM connectors & JSON Identity suites.
    • 5 plus years hands-on experience configuring, administration, troubleshoot and support MFA technologies such as Okta, Google, YubiKey, Titan, etc.
    • 3 plus years hands-on experience automating workflows for onboarding, off-boarding, provisioning and de-provisioning by leveraging HR as a master such as WorkDay, SuccessFactor.
    • 3 plus years hands-on experience automating and managing device authentication for android, iOS and Windows devices using technologies such as Jamf Pro, Azure.
    • 3 plus years hands-on experience with FIDO, U2F, etc.
    • 3 plus years hands-on experience with OAuth 2 and OIDC 2.0.
    • 3 plus years hands-on experience using Java / Python for IAM and related API calls.

    Preferred Additional Experience:

    Our growing technology company seeks an enthusiastic and passionate human with well-established AWS, Azure, GCP, and DevSecOps experience to join our elite team of dedicated individuals.  In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining and assisting with the implementation, security, and automation of cloud-based infrastructure and software systems. With a variety of production systems, your skillset is broad - implementing cloud and hybrid solutions for various application architectures – and you easily transition between those and handle multiple projects and priorities. A well-rounded individual is critical for this position.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Partner with development, operations, and Security teams to develop practical solutions for creating, automating, and securing our multi-cloud applications while demonstrating deep understanding of the implications in each of these environments

    • As the primary point of contact for several production cloud-based systems, monitor, configure, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues as necessary

    • Ensure critical SLAs are met which will include an on-call schedule for emergencies

    • Assist with the development of solutions for collecting, analyzing, and acting on telemetry and log data from applications

    • Design, refine, and implement security best practices utilizing a wide range of approaches such as layer 3/4/7 firewall policies, SSL/TLS encryption, SIEM systems, data protection (DLP, encryption), and Privileged Access Management

    • Leverage previous experiences and industry best practices to create state of the art SIEM solutions

    • Develop and maintain a highly organized and secure multi-cloud IAM infrastructure

    • Perform security assessments and compile evidence for external security audits of cloud environments for industry standard frameworks such as ISO, NIST, SOC2

    • Assist with system architecture of existing and new cloud-based systems

    • Member of the system deployment team which releases updates into production

    • Develop and organize documentation and architecture diagrams for new and/or existing systems

    • Provide system training and technical guidance for utilizing cloud computing resources

     SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

    • 8+ years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, securing, and supporting software systems in a heterogeneous operating system environment

    • 4+ years of demonstrable experience with cloud-based administration (Azure, AWS, Google, etc) with a deep understanding of cloud concepts, cloud security, and web technologies

    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Automation, and Orchestration

    • Excellent knowledge of different redundancy and backup and disaster recovery approaches in the cloud

    • Experience writing PowerShell/Python scripts and markup language files such as XML, JSON, and/or YAML

    • Understanding of relational and non-relational database system design and SQL query language

    • Experience with monitoring tools, such as Azure Application Insights, AWS CloudWatch, Azure Log Analytics, NewRelic, Nagios, Solarwinds, Dynatrace, Retrace, Site24x7, etc.

    • Experience using tools such as Telnet/SSH, port scanners, network protocol analyzers, and other network monitoring tools

    • PKI systems and SSL/TLS Certificates management expert

    • Experience with Azure Resource Templates and/or AWS CloudFormation

    • IAM Expert including

      • Azure AD and other enterprise account and RBAC management

      • Implementation and management of MFA, SSO, SAML, RADIUS, OAuth, and OpenID connections

      • Privileged Account Management such as account creation and discovery, password/key rotation, access request/approval workflows

      • MDM and Conditional Access systems

    • Deep understanding of firewalls, VLANs, NAT, NACLs, Load Balancing, VPN tunnels, DNS, DHCP, and packet filtering

    • Microsoft product expert including Windows Server, SQL Server

    • Proficient in web technologies including Apache, LAMP stacks, IIS, and Wordpress

    • Excellent knowledge of static content offloading, caching, and CDNs

    • Extensive experience using browser dev tools, process monitor/explorer, and other 3rd party tools for troubleshooting complex issues
