We are ThinkShout, a Portland-grown, certified B Corp dedicated to delivering exceptional web development, design, user experience, and strategy to the nonprofits and forward-thinking organizations that inspire us.

We are looking for a Strategy Director that will lead multi-platform engagements with organizations that rely on digital technologies to drive growth. You are passionate about innovation as our clients apply emerging tools — solving organizational challenges in elegant and unexpected ways. You will proactively identify, define, and design solutions for your accounts, working across internal departments to deliver world-class products.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Ability to identify and get creative designing solutions for existing clients

  • Ability to innovate around ThinkShout’s strategy offerings, especially with respect to how our clients measure their work, implement growth strategies, and communicate with their audiences across digital channels

  • Ability to help clients identify priorities in nimble, respectful and innovative ways

  • Someone who is able to context switch easily between a variety of clients, their needs and their tech-fluency

  • Experience/ technical strategy expertise

  • Experience leading multi-platform digital engagements with complex, sophisticated clients

  • Ability to apply emerging digital technologies in innovative ways to solve nonprofit and mission-driven organizational needs

  • Ability to cultivate account relationships in partnership with Team leads

  • Ability to collaborate, learn, and share new skill-sets that advance the strategy team’s expertise

How You’ll Spend Your Time:

The Support team at ThinkShout functions almost like a tiny agency within our agency.  It utilizes its own pricing structure and has its own roster of clients to manage, many of whom we’ve launched sites for in the past and who need ongoing support, updates, and iterative (and often exciting!) updates. This is an opportunity for a hybrid role for a more senior level strategist to be a hyper client facing partner with our Support Team Lead Developer to innovate on our sales, services, and approach to offerings for the team. They will also be the lead strategist for support client work and for the support team’s strategic service offerings, so will also own the vision and execution. The role will include some of the tasks below:

  • Support across general strategy deliverables, including but not limited to: desk research; SEO; analytics; user behavior research insights; strategy and/or technical design briefs; content/ digital experience strategy; information architecture; designing client workshops.

  • Understand and leverage the landscape of digital engagement tools and how those tools can benefit our clients, including but not limited to: fundraising; social; campaign; and community-building

  • Work with our clients and internal teams to surface and document their business requirements, as well as to collect and analyze engagement data that will inform the solutions we recommend and guide our technical work

  • Develop and help sell strategic services to current clients

  • Demonstrate thought leadership: speaking engagements and publications

Success Criteria

The Strategy Director’s success will be evaluated based on the following:

Client Impact
  1. ThinkShout’s discovery process uncovers impactful, measurable metrics for success that are shared and understood by the client and internal project teams.

  2. Our clients’ communication strategies are implemented across all available and appropriate channels.

  3. ThinkShout projects successfully and respectfully balance project goals against constraints.

  4. Project goals are established upon launch/roll-out and iterated against during the lifespan of ThinkShout’s engagements.

  2. Internally, the ThinkShout team understands how we’re working to help our clients achieve their goals.
