Role Overview

Uncapped is on a really exciting growth trajectory in the coming 12 months or so, with a mission to revolutionise SME lending in the UK and beyond. We empower founders to go further, faster. We need a creative story-teller and digital marketing strategist to craft our B2B content, brand activities and PR output into a compelling and engaging narrative that inspires entrepreneurs, investors and the broader technology community. Our unique position in the start-up ecosystem gives us an opportunity to tell entrepreneur stories that can inform and inspire the convergent worlds of VC funding and technology. This role suits someone both aspirational and independent, someone demonstrably passionate about our product and how it is revolutionizing the way start-ups are funded, someone with the natural capacity for critical and ‘first principles’ thinking. You will have a bias to action and pride yourself on having an impact from day one.

 

About Uncapped

Here at Uncapped, we believe founders shouldn’t have to give away ownership of their company to fund growth. That’s why we provide interest and equity-free investments from £10k to £2 million to founders and companies who are changing the world. We charge a flat fee of 6% on the capital provided and get repaid through a revenue share. There are no pitches, cap tables or coffees required. So founders can apply online, receive an offer and start growing their business! We’re a fully remote company and backed by Europe’s top investors including Seedcamp, Global Founders Capital and Whitestar - early investors in other fintechs such as Transferwise, Revolut, and Funding Circle. We recently raised another $26m of investment and we’re scaling fast!

Requirements

Your mission:

  • Manage our ‘paid social and search’ agency, ensuring best value for money and helping them to execute faster
  • Campaign-based PR, finding innovative ways to reposition our product to generate ongoing interest from the sector
  • Create a ‘referral programme’ that drives quality qualified leads into the top of our customer acquisition funnel
  • Develop and execute a strategy for engaging content, driving new traffic into the top of the funnel
  • Optimize pages across all web assets to increase visitor conversion rates and improve search engine results placement
  • Use link-building strategies in conjunction with third party providers, in-page optimization, and other effective SEO techniques
  • Position Uncapped as a thought-leader in the start-up ecosystem, highlighting the purpose, mission and outcomes behind the inspirational entrepreneurs we help
  • Build, test and iterate email campaigns to drive integrated user journeys, recommending new tools where appropriate
  • Measure and report on what success looks like to improve organic search quality and quantity, conversion rates, and campaign performance

 

Although initially an operational position, as we grow there is the opportunity to expand the marketing team and progress into a CMO role.

 

What will the measures of success be:

  • Increase in volume and velocity of website sign-ups (top of funnel)
  • An improvement in our acquisition costs - (CPC / PPC)
  • Increase in conversion (progression through the funnel)

 

What you’ll need to have done in the past:

  • Acted as either Marketing Manager or similar in a scaling start-up - what you already know about pace, doing more with less and how to make trade-offs is essential on day one
  • Agency or partnership management, with a focus on rapid iteration through experimentation and analytics
  • Lead or heavily influenced the creation of a multi-channel brand experience
  • Devised and executed a content and copy strategy - blogs, webinars, interviews, conferences (virtual or otherwise), FAQ’s
  • Produced, tested and improved sales collateral
