Your Impact:
Handshake is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant (4 month contract) to assist with day-to-day accounting operations and assist with the month end close process. You are a hands-on individual who enjoys digging into details, problem-solving and have the ability to prioritize work. With your background and past experience, you have the ability to not only identify areas of improvement but also take the initiative to establish and implement those improvements. Role reports to the Accounting Manager.
Your Role:
  • Day-to-day accounting: AP, AR
  • Month end close: Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and contribute to the month close package and analysis
  • Tax filings: Assist with filing of all required tax returns and other statutory filings
Your Experience:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field 
  • Full-cycle accounting experience
  • Advanced user of Excel 
  • Netsuite experience is preferred, Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently, but also thrive in an environment that fosters open communication and collaboration
  • Ability to work remotely 
  • Ability to work, take ownership, and succeed in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
