Head of Legal
Job type: Full-time
Hiring from: Germany Only
Category: Finance / Legal
Remote work is one of the most complex compliance challenges today. Even Fortune 500 companies are struggling to find solutions that deliver flexibility for employees, but at the same time adhere to governing law and tax regulations. On the other hand, global employment is one of the fastest-growing topics and most relevant problems of today's corporate world.
We are looking for an experienced Head of Legal that will take responsibility of our global compliance in its entirety. This involves a) helping us internally to create 100% compliant employment solutions, and b) understanding our clients' individual legal needs.
a) Global Compliance Solutions
While work is becoming global, employment is still regulated by local law - every country has a different view on cross-border employment and employee leasing. It will be your task to understand each country's specific regulations, and continuously improve our contract set-up so that it remains simple and easy-to-understand for our clients.
As part of our business model, we are in the process of establishing legal entities in more than 40 countries in the world. You will help our Head of Infrastructure Operations to ensure complete local compliance for the operations of each entity.
b) Legal Advisor
You will liase with Legal Counsels of our clients, and help them understand how our solution solves all compliance challenges they have in mind. You will understand their individual needs and come up with innovative solutions for topics like intellectual property rights, stock option plans, and international benefits.
You have a minimum of 5 years of work experience as a qualified lawyer dealing with international labour law, or as a consultant working in the global employment / global mobility space. While you love the subject matter, you cannot wait to jump on a fast-growing startup journey, and apply your knowledge in an entrepreneurial context.
- You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a qualified lawyer (working at a well-known international law firm) or global mobility consultant (working at Big 4, or a Fortune 500 company)
- You have a degree in law (Staatsexamen, Master of Laws, or L.L.M)
- You thrive in extremely dynamic and entrepreneurial environments, are self-motivated and want to take on significant responsibilities
- You are business fluent in English (German not necessarily required, but preferred)
