What you will be doing:
Reporting to the VP Finance, we are looking for a Finance Manager to join our team. This is a permanent role for a candidate with: outstanding experience in operational accounting, strong strategic chops, and the ability to build and implement programs.
As the owner of our month-end closing and financial reporting processes, and in-house expert in cash flow planning & forecasting, this role will be critical to the continued growth and success of our business. We are looking to grow our Later team rapidly in the next year so this role will require an expert communicator, highly nimble, and a people-first person!
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly financial close and related internal reporting.
- Oversee all day-to-day financial activities within the Company such as: treasury management, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Prepare supporting schedules for tax returns, GST filings and other statutory returns.
- Maintain the annual budget, report on monthly variances to actual, and provide quarterly updates on budgeting and forecasting.
- Assist with preparation of internal financial reports and analysis for management, including various board reporting needs.
- Research and interpret Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and assist with annual financial statements and tax material preparations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of best-practice process improvements, controls and system enhancements.
- Document and implement process changes and improvements.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as required by management.
- Assisting and/or training students and junior accounting staff as we build out the team
Qualifications:
- CPA Designation or equivalent qualification in good standing.
- 6+ years of progressively more senior finance roles.
- Driven to learn and take on new challenges and have input into all areas of Finance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience leading initiatives in the Accounting function.
- Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
- Metrics-driven Finance mind.
- Experience with Accounting systems, month end close and related automated tools.
- Experience with Xero, Advanced Excel & Google Sheets is an asset.
- Experience in the Technology sector, particularly in SaaS businesses.
Salary Range
- $116,000 - $126,500

Working Locations:
Product and Development roles are based out of our Vancouver headquarters. If you are not located in Vancouver, but interested in relocating for the role let us know!
Whereas, roles on our Marketing and Customer Experience teams are open to remote candidates based out of Toronto and London, UK, in addition to working out of our Vancouver headquarters.
