We're looking for an enthusiastic infrastructure engineer to join our Operations team to help us deliver an exciting development program to our customers.
Capsule has been hosted in the cloud since the day we started more than 10 years ago. We always prefer to concentrate our energy on the things that make us unique so where possible we use managed services like RDS, Datadog and Elasticsearch Service to avoid undifferentiated, heavy lifting.
We use automation and infrastructure as code to create and maintain environments. Our goal is that if it isn't under source control it didn't happen!
Working closely with other teams we've created a shared view into the performance and operation of our production systems - Unified logging, APM , stack traces and StatsD for performance metrics.
We're proud to be transparent with customers so we share the operational uptime and performance of Capsule on our website https://status.capsulecrm.com.
UK remote applicants will be considered.
You'll be responsible for ensuring Capsule is secure, fast and reliable for thousands of customers around the globe.
Using infrastructure as code you'll help to create efficient and maintainable deployment pipelines which encourage consistency.
We allow plenty of time for professional development so you'll have chance to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices which you'll then have the opportunity to integrate into our operations.
Continuous improvement is part of our culture so you'll be able to contribute to application and infrastructure design.
You'll also be helping to empower your colleagues within Capsule through self-service and automation.
What we're looking for
A strong drive to solve problems, communicate clearly and contribute positively in a DevOps/DataOps culture
Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and tooling
Experience with applications deployed in the Cloud (AWS ideally)
Experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (e.g. Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform)
For bonus points
Experience with databases and other data stores (e.g. MySQL, Redis, S3, Elasticsearch)
Experience deploying and tuning Java/Scala applications
