Job type: Full-time

Hiring from: US only

Category: Design

Help create the future of home design. Higharc is looking for an experienced product designer to help create our core product. You’ll join a founding team who’ve shipped products for Autodesk, Electronic Arts, Nike, and Apple.

ABOUT THE JOB

As Higharc’s product designer, you’ll create interfaces for generating homes based on people’s priorities and for visualizing and customizing them on the web and mobile. You'll be tasked to design an experience that is intuitive and enjoyable from when new home buyers first sign up through to customizing their home and downloading the final home plans. This role is focused on interaction and user experience design. Visual design skills are nice to have but not critical as we have a visual designer.

You’ll work with experts in 3D visualization, engineering, and architecture on a daily basis to prototype and build a digital experience that brings home design to the modern web. Join us in creating a product that will change and enrich people’s lives for years.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a product designer who’s created consumer products on the web/mobile that are widely used and loved. If you’ve designed products that require deep personalization and integrate 3D graphics, that’s even better.

You should love interaction design, usability, and intuitive interfaces. You are deeply embedded in product design for the web and mobile or you have extensive UI experience in video games. You know who is pushing the industry forward and where the best examples and heuristics are for a given challenge. You might enjoy pixel pushing and graphic design too but it's not necessary for this role.

You are passionate about designing for real users. You understand and depend on analytics and observation for choosing design directions. And you love to quickly prototype and test concepts with real users.

Requirements:

  • You’ve designed and shipped a consumer product(s) - something substantive - that is widely loved

  • Expertise with current tools for IxD / UX - Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD...etc.

  • You have an online portfolio

Nice to have:

  • Interest or passion for home design, architecture, or construction

  • Experience with product configurators, progressive disclosure-based apps

  • Front-end development chops

ABOUT HIGHARC

Higharc is a VC-backed, early-stage startup that is changing how new homes are designed and built. Our goal is to make custom-designed homes accessible to anyone by automating home design and customization online. Higharc gives you the home you want without hiring an architect.

Work where you are. Higharc is remote-first and we have offices in Raleigh-Durham and San Francisco. Higharc offers competitive salaries with significant equity in a fast-growing, well-funded company. Personal healthiness is an important value for us - we provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with flexible PTO (take it when you need it) and meaningful maternity/paternity.

Sweet bonus perk: You get a free home design and support from our architects if you want to build a home.
