  • We want to become the world's largest and most loved consumer brand by building a new supply chain that serves consumers, manufacturers, and the environment—not middlemen. We are a small and experienced team of technology and retail veterans that are passionate about developing beautiful, luxury goods in a sustainable way and creating a world-class customer experience.

We are building a team of highly-talented freelance designers to help us implement our vision for our brand. As our brand has traditionally been very minimalist, we are aiming to further refine our visual identity through the primary mechanism that customers interact with our brand via the storefront and improve the perceived quality of our products, our mission, and our value proposition.

    Responsibilities

    • Design an elegant yet utilitarian storefront that you're proud of showing off on your portfolio

    • Communicate the needs on behalf of the design team to our Producer to plan in advance of photoshoots and post-production in accordance to the needs of the storefront

    • Collaborate with Customer Success and Merchandising to ideate ways to better feature and sell through inventory

    • Work with our Product Manager and engineering team to produce specifications, prototypes, and assets to ensure accurate delivery of the designs you create

    • Provide timelines, and hit them

    Requirements

    • 4+ years experience in consumer-facing web design. A nice portfolio or roster of clients helps :)

    • A kind but ambitious mentality and be able to stand up for your opinion while remaining flexible to hearing critical feedback

    • Be able to clearly articulate past design and branding decisions within constrains of being on-brand

  • Founded in 2008, BeerMenus' mission is simple: we exist to help grow the craft beer market.

We serve as craft beer's marketplace, where over 6.7 million beer lovers and 47,802 beer retailers meet. We drive craft beer growth by making craft beer more available and accessible: if you’re looking for craft beer, we help you find it. If you sell craft beer, we help you promote your selection, both on and off-premises.

We invented our space in 2008 and continue to innovate with recent launches including recommendations / where to go now, arrival recommendations, and powering online beer presales for breweries.

We're an independent, self-funded company that loves what we do, so we're in it for the long haul. Craft beer isn't going anywhere and neither are we.

We're looking for product designers who enjoy wearing many hats: from product strategy, to customer experience and design details, all the way to front-end implementation (HTML and CSS). We expect you to have highly polished visual design and typography skills.

You'll have opportunities to design experiences for craft beer fans, beer sellers, and breweries across a variety of platforms (web, iOS, Android, print, digital signage).

We expect you to be empathetic, customer focused, self-directed, to enjoy craft beer, and to be able to give and receive thoughtful, direct feedback.

You will work with a distributed, small, and extremely passionate BeerMenus team.

    Next Steps

We're currently looking for people who have 10-20 hours available per week to work with us on a freelance basis. We use hourly rates when we work with freelancers to avoid the pitfalls of trying to predict how long projects will take, and to encourage as much iteration as needed.

After you apply, we'll get in touch to set up an interview if we think you could be a good fit. After the interview stage, we'll start with a small freelance project to see if we're happy working together. If we're both excited to continue working together, we'll start working on larger projects and ask you to allocate 10-20 hours per week to working with us.

If this sounds exciting, please apply here https://beermenus.typeform.com/to/JHEH0U. We can't wait to hear from you!
