This is a role for someone who relishes a systems-level perspective; who doesn’t just work well with constraints but who wants to define those constraints.

As an early member of the team, you will have the opportunity to define the foundation of our product, and the culture of our design team.

Requirements

  • You think big, but start small

  • You have experience crafting mobile tools

  • You have a deep understanding of iOS interaction patterns

  • You've seen a product through multiple iterations/life cycles, and can incorporate insights back into future iterations.

  • You possess a keen eye for beautiful, usable interface.

  • You strive to learn more, ask questions, and grow both professionally and personally.

  • Above all else, you should be able to think deeply about what makes a design work—or not— and clearly articulate why to everyone involved

Bonus points:

  • you are comfortable conducting user testing

  • you have motion design experience, and know when to employ interactive prototypes as part of the design process

  • you’re a Universe user :)

    About the role

    MythX is looking for a Brand Designer to help create a compelling and unified look and feel for all products and marketing materials in the MythX ecosystem. As Brand Designer, you will be responsible for:

    • Creating and maintaining the MythX "brand kit", including colors, logos, typography, etc.

    • Crafting logos, wordmarks, banners, slide templates, and all other visual accessories.

    • Spearheading a consistent look and feel among the various MythX client- and server-side tools

    • Creating the Azure and Visual Studio Marketplace entries and design

    • Creating and maintaining the MythX Nexus partner portal identity and design

    • Design of the MythX Certification program and badges

    • Working with marketing and business leads to liaise on social media campaigns and sales funnels

    • Generating excitement through the visual aspect of our product

    • Growing a design team as products mature

    • Evangelizing design and product thinking methodology

    Requirements

    • 2-4 years experience working in a software development environment

    • A well-established portfolio of past work

    • End to end design and user experience thinking

    • Deep understanding of current trends and what is hot

    • Capable of being autonomous as well as working collaboratively as needed

    We are hiring a Senior UX Designer to work on a pivotal Federal program that is making a positive impact on millions of Americans' daily lives. As an early hire on a small team, you'll have a huge stake in the design, strategy, and development of the product. 

    What you'll be doing:

    • Working closely with our engineering and product teams, this person will be responsible for all UX, design, and research on one of our core teams. This role will be the go-to person overseeing the entire process, from conception to implementation. A healthy mix of design, research, and high-level thinking is needed for this role.

    We are looking for someone with the following skillset:

    • Extensive experience with UX research: Writing research plans, conversation guides, conducting user and client interviews, client meetings and demos, problem-solving, and iterating solutions based on research findings and feedback loops.

    • A demonstrated facility with creating and using prototypes, wireframes, user interviews, data points, etc. to arrive at a solution and convey the vision and design of the product.

    • Ability to think strategically and frame problems in clear approachable language and writing, directed at both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Experience working with Git Version Control.

    • An understanding of and ability to design 508 compliant solutions.

    • Adaptability when working with, and in, existing design and UX systems.

    • A phased and adaptable approaches to problems.

    • A consultant mindset that keeps the needs of the client and users at the forefront of all decisions.

    • Experience working in Agile development environments.

    • Capable of taking direction from senior leadership and translating into concrete next steps and actions.

    We need to see a portfolio that showcases a phased, iterative human-centered UX design approach and concise writing samples. We don’t just want to see the end product, we want to know your process, what you learned, how you got there, and how your solution solved the users’ pain points.

    Compensation 

    • This is a salaried role. Oddball provides a monthly continuing education stipend and a tech stipend.
