509, an exciting and rapidly growing outdoor brand is looking to add a highly creative, brand centric Senior Digital Brand Designer to the team! With a flair for visually inspiring & emotionally connecting storytelling through digital-first campaign design, the Senior Designer will support the Marketing team in design concept creation and execution. The Senior Designer is a hands-on, digital-oriented individual with strong conceptual skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the digital medium. This role is responsible for crafting compelling visual narratives and brand experiences. 


Job Description


Digital-first design experience with knowledge of social media and e-commerce best practice guidelines to ensure we are implementing design that engages and drives conversion

Develop key design concepts to drive the sell-in and sell-through, evolving them in complexity as they grow from initial story concept to full go-to-market style guide and omni-channel asset package

Design high-level global brand storytelling asset packages that transcends region and channel

Assist Marketing Director in adhering to brand principles to ensure brand consistency

Design for a holistic long view, while managing multiple fast pace, high priority design projects

Ability to translate campaign concept to design, building digital-first visual assets for the 509 brand Including; web, social media, mobile apps, banners, emails, print, apparel and video

Initiate collaboration with marketing, photographers, videographers, copywriters, digital specialists, product development and sales in the creation of consistent and captivating brand assets.

Drive consistency in design treatments across campaigns using objective thinking to align with brand principals and standards

Wire-framing the design of digital experiences for customer-facing campaigns to align and collaborate with stakeholders

Ensure the usability, consistency, brand relevance, and functionality of the finished product.

On-time delivery and distribution of all assets

Evaluating, prioritizing and communicating conflicting priorities

Edit and retouch photo assets when needed

Develop logos, typography, and other identity assets that support new products, technologies, programs, and event.

Identify new opportunities to elevate our brand in the digital space, staying up to date on best practices in social media, ecommerce and UX

Knowledge & Skills


5+ years’ experience designing in a brand or agency environment

Proven ability to work successfully and collaborate in an autonomous environment

In-depth experience in mobile-first optimization and design

An authentic connection to outdoor culture is ideal with a proven ability to design for new audiences

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, or a related discipline is preferred

Expertise across the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign

A diverse portfolio reflecting sophistication in concept development, typography, layout, digital, mobile-first, print, photo editing, and general artistry

Motion graphics & video production is a plus

Experience in graphic design is required; experience in web & print design is preferred

A finger-on-pulse pursuit of new techniques in software, social media applications, and digital communication

Experience working with e-commerce and development teams to ensure full understanding of design to web implementation, user experience feedback minimizing drop off user rates

A systematic approach and the ability to work in many different styles (hand-drawn to digital)

Ability to work quickly and stay calm under pressure

Laser-sharp attention to detail

Excellent written and oral communication.
