Our busy, client-focused office needs a reliable, well-organized individual to assist the Director of Information Technology with day-to-day client and company technology work. This individual will be responsible for assisting the Director in daily work such as list processing, writing scripts, building reports, and implementing changes in data for our growing company.



Most Important Service or Result Expected from this Position:

  • Provide superior customer service, externally and internally by meeting fast-paced deadlines
  • Represent FUEL in a professional manner at all times
  • Confirm daily imports completed successfully
  • Confirm daily reports are generated and posted in project management software
  • Process client data. This includes campaign data from clients, Banner Ad click data, suppression lists, etc.
  • Import data into various supporting software applications and platforms
  • Export data from various supporting software applications and platforms
  • Perform ad hoc queries for special data projects
  • Create new data imports when identified
  • Schedule jobs, in SQL Server, to run automatically and eliminate manual tasks
  • Create new reports as needed
  • Prepare data in Excel for importing and/or data processing. This includes, but is not limited to, combining data across multiple spreadsheets and/or multiple tabs in one spreadsheet



Knowledge of:

  1. Institutional/organizational policies, procedures, and administrative practices, generally administered in higher education, but particularly, in the area of enrollment management
  2. Basic finance, accounting, mathematics, and programming
  3. General rules, regulations, requirements, and policies related to enrollment, financial aid, and retention
  4. Modern office methods, procedures, and equipment, including computer software
  5. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary
  6. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy

Ability to:

  1. Oversee all technology operations (network security, email, web, programming) and evaluate them according to established goals
  2. Assist in devising and establishing IT polices and systems to support the implementation of strategies by upper management
  3. Assist in analyzing the business requirements of all functions to determine future technology needs
  4. Assist in purchasing efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
  5. Assist in identifying the need for upgrades, configurations, or new systems and report to upper management
  6. Assist with general hardware and software support questions from internal team members
  7. Communicate productively and persuasively utilizing excellent oral, written, and listening skills
  8. Work with and keep confidential information
  9. Develop rapport with coworkers and supervisors

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in information systems, management, or related field
  • Five years' related experience
  • Broad knowledge of current communication protocols, operating systems, virtual technologies, and programming
  • Technical knowledge and analytical skills to identify complex system issues and coordinate an effective resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver timely, on-budget completion of those projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, college administration, and vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical matters effectively with people of varying skills and background
  • Experience using Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management for querying SQL Server database/tables is required
  • Experience in creating databases, tables within database, indexes on tables, creating and executing stored procedures, and scheduling jobs through SQL Server Agent is also required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. is required
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, and/or Tableau is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio is a plus



Job Tasks:

  1. Help retain clients by meeting deadlines and providing data needed to analyze campaigns and overall FUEL performance
  2. Assist in coordinating long-range plans for the technology infrastructure of the company, including information systems, computer networks, personal computers, web, and software
  3. Lead planning and/or implementation of projects
  4. Prepare final lists for mailings and banner ads as they arrive from name buy vendors such as College Board, ACT, NRCCUA, and CBSS and post to project management software
  5. Assist in presenting oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management 
  6. Assist Director of Information Technology in ensuring all deadlines are met and the core value of delivery plus one is exceeded
  7. Assist in establishing standards for technology hardware, software, and communication protocols
  8. Assist in continuing to automate FUEL processes for better work efficiency
  9. Serve as a back-up to the Director of Information Technology when he/she is out of the office



% of Total Working Time AND Work Tasks and Responsibilities:

80% - Building tables, summary reports, managing efficiencies in data processing
15% - Answering questions, working with internal team, troubleshooting, and resolving issues
5%  - Staff retreats and planning and weekly meetings


  • Manual dexterity sufficient to work on a computer and/or related devices
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, on occasion
  • Ability to look at computer monitors for extended periods of time
  • Speaking and hearing ability sufficient for phone/headset usage and conversations
  • Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
