Trust Keith is an early stage Data Protection company helping leaders of tech scale-ups effortlessly manage their Data Protection and Data Compliance so they can focus on growing their business with confidence. We’re called Trust “Keith” because Data Compliance is often associated as a “boring” and “unsexy” subject stereotypically conducted by individuals with names like “Keith” [credit to Family Guy], and we’re here to change that!

We’re looking for an ambitious privacy professional to join our team as a Data Protection Manager/DPO. You’ll work closely with our customers, providing sensible and practical data protection advice, and report to our Head of Data Protection.

 
In This Role You Will:
  • Act as the primary privacy ‘expert’ for your own set of Trust Keith customers
  • Provide bespoke advice to some of the fastest growing start-ups in the UK in consultation with our team of experts
  • Support our customers’ questions around the day to day privacy challenges they face, finding creative and simple solutions to complex customer challenges
  • Lead training sessions with our customers, to help them implement and understand our solutions
  • Lead on customer data protection audits and data-mapping workshops, and chair monthly risk committee meetings with your set of customers
  • Collaborate with our Customer Success team to deliver the best experience to our customers
  • Work closely with the Head of Data Protection to help shape how we deliver the Trust Keith service
  • Support the development of our privacy products
  • Help shape your role as Trust Keith grows and develops

 

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3-4 years experience in a data protection focussed role
  • Experience of working in a start-up environment
  • One or more data protection qualification, such as CIPP/E or C-DPO
  • A good understanding of European and British privacy legislation (bonus points if you’re also able to advise on US legislation)
  • The ability to give practical, operational, and easy to understand advice
  • An enjoyment of grappling with some of the challenges and grey areas of data protection
  • Experience with working with ISO 27001, or working in an ISO 27001 certified company
  • A willingness to seek input and advice when needed, whilst enjoying and thriving on autonomy
  • Experience working with small, fast growth businesses
  • A systems and process-orientated focus - you loving making order out of chaos
  • Tech-savviness - you know your way around tools like GSuite, Asana, Front, and Notion
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • A willingness to get stuck in and an appreciation for the challenges of working in a fast-paced, fast-growth start-up

  • Base salary of £30 - 35k (depending on experience) with scope to increase as you progress
