As part of the Success team, the Technical Support Specialist works directly with customers to assist them with troubleshooting issues, product and technical questions, and the setup and configuration of new sites.

As an expert in our products, the Technical Support Specialist guides customers through the project process as part of the post-member onboarding, setting expectations and milestones, showing customers how to use tools, and offering guidance on LexBlog’s blogging best practices.

As the face of our company, the Technical Support Specialist is a collaborative team player that takes initiative to do the right thing for our customers.


  • Respond to technical support requests through a ticketing system, live chat, and phone

  • Flag patterns or identify technical issues to proactively address as a team

  • Configure and set up new sites including migrating content, and configuring site settings per customer and product plan requirements

  • Organize projects for customers by driving milestones, and communicating expectations and next steps

Required Qualifications

  • You’re experienced with troubleshooting software or web tools with customers

  • You have previous experience in project management or customer service roles

  • You have experience with technical troubleshooting that uses an escalation framework

  • Excellent written and spoken communication: You need to be able to clearly guide customers through a solution or walk-through our products and features

  • You’re a self-learner who is flexible, curious, and willing to try new things

  • You’re a natural problem solver, you love a good challenge and can think quickly on your feet

  • You enjoy a dynamic, changing work environment and feel comfortable tackling a variety of tasks in a given day

  • You have previous experience in a technical support role

  • You have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, Zendesk, Google Suite, or experience with WordPress site administration

  • You’re passionate about blogging, the web, and empowering professionals to publish

  • You’re motivated to learn new tools or skills and share those skills with others

    Job Description:

    We are looking for a Student Success Advocate with customer support experience (working with people with a technical background is a plus!) and multicultural awareness to serve as a key support for communication with students. This role reports to the Program Support Lead.

    The Student Success team is responsible for answering daily questions related to student relationships, motivation, program information, financial issues, mental health, access to student systems, and much more. Together we work to ensure satisfaction and Program completion for our 100% online, highly diverse student population.

    We do not succeed unless our students succeed (no really - we don’t get paid until our student’s find a job!), so we provide the support system necessary to solve the challenges our students face and help them progress no matter what. This is an opportunity to shape an early-stage company and be part of a movement whose goal is to connect millions of people with global opportunities regardless of where they live.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Spend the majority of your day handling student communication around issues of program tools access, collaboration, progress, and much more.

    • Work a schedule that has some overlap with both the UTC and UTC-6 program timezones.

    • Monitor student community chat spaces to provide support for questions and direct students where to find answers.

    • Understand the student journey deeply and advocate for the student in every decision implemented.

    • Help create and maintain a consistently positive, motivated and understanding environment where students from all backgrounds feel comfortable approaching us with their problems and know we will work to solve them.

    • Take ownership of ongoing operational student processes such as setting up video calls for student teams, repairing partners, and reviewing student feedback from Weekly Retrospective Forms.

    • Contribute to working strategically to automate support for communication and synergy of services for students including writing support articles for frequently asked questions.

    • Stay up to date on all program changes and and improvements and be prepared to answer student questions about them.

    Education, Skills, and Experience:

    • 1+ year customer support experience in a service-oriented company

    • Based in Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe or Asia

    • High proficiency in written and spoken English

    • Knowledge, experience, interactions, and understanding of the cultural norms and difficulties of individuals in developing countries

    • Mission-driven and passionate about helping students succeed

    • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

    • Experience working with a diverse group of individuals

    • Ability to work autonomously, proactively, and humbly with little oversight

    • Efficient, organized and good at prioritizing in an environment with a high volume of daily customer communication

    Customer Advocate

    Fastly is passionate about helping our customers succeed. If you are a good communicator who enjoys creating relationships and solving problems, we want you.

    The Customer Advocate will be an integration between Marketing and Customer Success to create and maintain a network of Fastly customer advocates. This position will create a network of customer advocates who support the Fastly brand and will talk about it to their peers and a broader audience. You will be responsible for being Fastly’s coordination point for customer relationships, working with internal and external stakeholders to balance multiple requests. Success in this role requires collaboration, strong business acumen, and crisp communication.

    What You'll Do

    • Partner with Marketing and Customer Success to identify and elevate customer stories
    • Track and manage customer marketing approvals. Own maintaining the list of referenceable customers including those who have expressed interest in participating in case studies
    • Own communication between sales/marketing and marketing/customers relating to customer approvals for marketing initiatives
    • Establish a structured Customer Advocacy Program, including maintaining a resource guide of customer blogs mentioning Fastly
    • Through customer interaction, identify trends for common topics. Coordinate with marketing to provide the customer voice into campaigns.
    • Create an internal channel and process for consistently sharing customer feedback throughout the company
