Codence is searching for a Business Development Manager to accelerate growth. As Claris FileMaker Software Developers, we specialize in finance, accounting, and custom business solutions. We're a service firm and we primarily build custom apps, cloud integrations, and software tools for our clients, but we also sell a robust analytics and accounting product built natively on FileMaker.
We look for people with strong communication skills, who are sincerely friendly, with a keen focus on serving others. We believe tech should solve problems and take some of the madness out of our clients' work lives, not add to it.
We're a small team – roughly 20 or so folks (mix of PT and FT) and you'll report directly to the CEO. We work with dozens of clients ranging from very large organizations to small businesses. We work independently, flexibly, and make time for family, friends, and other pursuits. We try to walk the walk when it comes to managing by mutual agreement.
What's the Role?
Help Codence grow. Build amazing relationships with our clients and our team.
Sell – As opportunities come in, help close deals. Simple, right?
Prospect – Identify new leads, using online, networking, and traditional tools.
Nurture – We're a service firm and our best source of new business comes from our existing clients: help teams identify opportunities and develop accounts.
Strategize – How we sell is important – your job is to grow a business, not just take orders. Help us keep our eye on the big picture.
Collaborate – Work with marketing and our service teams to be smart about sales. What do you need and what can you give?
3-5 years experience in software and technology sales.
Big plus: familiarity with Claris and the FileMaker platform.
Knowledge of low-code/no-code cloud and server-based technologies.
Experience with similar platforms: Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, QuickBooks Online, Access, etc.
Familiarity with analytics and data visualization technologies like Tableau, PowerBI, and Qlikview.

You'll receive a base salary with a commission structure.
We prefer someone who lives in (or is open to relocating to) the Denver metro area, but will consider the right remote candidate. Boulder works as well.
Modest travel -- you won't be constantly on the road. Most of our work is done via Zoom (especially at present).
