Business Development Lead (Corporate Gifting) 

Job Description:

The Business Development Lead will lead the B2B sales function. This role will continue building and expanding our new sales channel where we partner with employers and organizations that want to buy large quantities of our product for their employees or clients.  Crowd Cow is a unique and personalized gift and your role will be to tell that story and drive corporate customer growth.  We are looking for hard-working, competitive and self-driven individuals who are looking for an opportunity to apply these skills to drive deep impact in our organization.


Key Focus Areas:

  • Define and develop our growth strategy for outbound sales strategy and demand generation
  • Conduct high volume prospecting to generate qualified leads using various channels of outreach including but not limited to cold calling, email, and social selling
  • Manage a book of target accounts to identify and target our ideal customer profiles
  • Effectively communicate Crowd Cow's vision and value to prospects in a well organized, thoughtful approach

Crowd Cow offers a generous PTO and benefits package to all full time employees.   This role will include base pay plus commission.  

Because we are Seattle based, work hours are primarily PST, Seattle area is preferred, but not required for the right candidate.

Internal  Research:

Typical benchmark = 70% base and 30% variable

  • Commission for SDR typically based on # of qualified leads

This is the first Account Manager role to launch the Corporate Gifting program for the Simply Chocolate division of 1-800 Flowers. Simply Chocolate is a new brand/web site within the 1-800 Flowers portfolio that provides a marketplace of chocolates plus its own branded products. Some of the well-recognized brands that are sold on the site include: Godiva, Fannie May, Neuhaus, Ethel M, and more.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving business goals including sales and costs - especially managing personal time and productivity.
  • Plan and manage personal business portfolio according to an agreed upon market development strategy.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Use customer and prospect contact activities, tools, and system while maintaining a customer and prospect database summarizing relevant actions.
  • Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries using appropriate methods.
  • Record, analyze, and administer sales activities according to requirements
  • Attend and present at internal meetings as necessary to perform duties of the job.

Tactical Responsibilities:

    • Ongoing daily/weekly/monthly reporting and associated data driven program recommendations

    • Liaison with all key internal channels supporting the program:
    • Customer Service, IT, Floral Ops / Bloomnet (coverage), Finance, Creative, Merchandising, Web /Mobile Team
    • Planning, forecasting, quarterly reviews - analytical thinker, strategic recommendations based on trends
    • Manage to internal test releases that impact partners - communicate impact internally and externally
    • Oversee ongoing, internal testing cadence of the UX across devices and various consumer behavior patterns/ entry points
    • Monitor all partner entry points and provide data-driven view on performance and optimization recommendations ongoing
    • Work closely with Customer Service to review and resolve any reported issues - provide fast, articulate feedback and communication to partner
    • Work with Floral Ops team to identify and remedy potential coverage or delivery issues supporting partner programs
    • Work with Internal Brand Marketing leads, Creative, PR and other channels to fortify our position as a "Gifting/Celebrations Authority" - provide value-added content, communications, and expertise to assist our partners
    • Strong pulse on emerging gifting and new partner opportunities and competitive trends - also mindful of potential Covid-related patterns/impact
    • Work closely with ALL brands to curate cross-brand collections and associated partner communications
    • Strategize with B2B Team for corporate gifting opportunities across partner platforms
    • Understand the current market, competitive landscape and opportunities to acquire new partners of same construct and identify new concepts "outside of the box"
    • Strategic plan around testing to drive incremental improvement across partner programs
