What You’ll Do

CloudBees is looking for a CI/CD expert to Evangelize Jenkins and CloudBees through education and training. In this role you will be involved in two critical areas of CloudBees’ education and evangelism. The first includes designing and developing training courses for self-paced delivery and instructor-led delivery by CloudBees Professional Services and Certified Training Partners. These courses are highly interactive, hands-on lab intensive Jenkins and CloudBees technical training courses.The second main area is architecting and building robust infrastructure supporting education and training. The environment includes automation to provision on-demand environments mimicking common CI/CD tool chains and environments on demand and at large scales.You will work as part of a distributed Training team using agile development methodologies to build and maintain both training content and supporting infrastructure. The team consists of experienced Software Developers and Technical Curriculum Developers. This position can be located in San Francisco Bay Area, Raleigh, NC, or Seville, Spain, (Ukraine??).

  • Assist in the design, development and maintenance of our “training-as-software” training infrastructure
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to design, develop, test, deliver, evaluate and maintain course materials and training lab exercises and lab environments, using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and GCP
  • Continuously learn and follow products and software on the CloudBees and Jenkins ecosystem
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Professional Services, Support, and Engineering teams to define priorities
  • Contribute to the Jenkins community as well as CloudBees and other open source projects
  • Attend conferences and Meetups and write blog posts to share experiences with CloudBees customers and Jenkins users
  • Deliver and assist with Jenkins and CloudBees training courses and workshops to the instructor ecosystem and at Meetups, DevOps World | Jenkins World, and other conferences.

This role reports to the Director of Training & Certification within the Professional Services organization.

What the Role Requires

  • A passion to evangelize Jenkins and CloudBees through educating others
  • Knowledge of CI/CD principles and personas
  • Knowledge of Jenkins and/or other automation systems
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and driven personality, ready to learn and apply new techniques and technologies
  • Experience developing and delivering technical content
  • Fully proficient in English written and spoken language
  • Experience in software development

Nice to have:

  • Well-rounded experience with domains such as GCP, AWS, Azure, JavaScript, Groovy, ElasticSearch, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, AKS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with git and version control systems
  • Familiarity with document authoring systems like asciidoctor
  • Experience using Jenkins and/or building Jenkins plugins
  • Experience in Jenkins administration, especially of large-scale instances
  • Contributions to Jenkins or other open source projects
  • Experience in project maintenance (open source or closed source)

    We are helping global companies around the world deploy Jenkins-based solutions at large scale.     Support is a global function at CloudBees. The team addresses customer requests from around the world, although the bulk of requests today come from the US and Western Europe.

    What You’ll Do

    Provide software technical support to developers and configuration managers on the CloudBees products. This includes communicating directly with customers via our support portal. This is however, much more than just a “support” position.

    • Ability to analyze scenarios of software implementations and provide solutions for problems
    • Set correct priorities for ongoing issues
    • Work with the CloudBees development team to improve products and/or resolve customer issues
    • Work with other software partners to resolve customer issues
    • At times, work in high pressure situations such as “customer down” priority scenarios to resolve issues timely and professionally
    • The support engineer must be well-rounded in IT skills, the ability to use a wide range of that knowledge at any given time is crucial
    • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment

    What The Role Requires

    • Degree in computer science / IT – or – equivalent experience
    • Trouble shooting skills with multi-threaded applications (debugging, analyzing a thread dump, troubleshooting
    • Jenkins user (setting up release processes, for example)
    • Measurable level of experience in multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, OS X)
    • Measurable level of experience with continuous integration. Jenkins experience preferred
    • Measurable level of experience with Docker, AWS and Configuration Management tools (Chef, Puppet, etc...) 
    • Basic knowledge of shell scripting (CMD, KSH)

    What You’ll Do

    We are looking for a Competitive Intelligence Manager  to identify competitive trends, provide early warnings on threats and opportunities in the evolving competitive CI/CD, DevOps and overall software delivery landscape, and evaluating their impact on CloudBees. 

    As an integral part of the product marketing team, the Competitive Intelligence Manager will work across  product management, product marketing, solutions architects and field sales to collaborate and gather information on key competitors that share the CI/CD market with CloudBees.

    You will have full responsibility for researching and reporting on organizations that directly and indirectly compete with CloudBees across our solutions suite, with the overall goal of enabling the Sales teams and Business Partners with winning competitive strategies. 

    The candidate must be a self-starter and passionate about investigative research to uncover competitive advantage, have insights into buyers needs around DevOps, CI/CD and software delivery processes, develop competitive collateral such as battlecards, presentations, sales training materials and marketing materials that positions  CloudBees to win.

    We’re looking for someone who can solve problems creatively and collaboratively, and work effectively in a diverse, geographically distributed team environment across business and technical domains.     • Own and drive competitive strategy and analysis for CloudBees
    • Identify and monitor sources of information on competitors websites on products, pricing and company capability
    • Subscribe to independent industry research, review published research reports, converse with analysts to obtain information on competitors’ market share, sales and strategies
    • Monitor social networks and product review sites provides information on customers’ attitudes towards competitors and their products
    • Track advertising or news of product launches in industry publications and  analysts reports with information on competitors’ marketing activities
    • Track competitive wins and losses
    • Develop competitive battlecards, presentations and other assets
    • Assist sales with actionable competitive intelligence and strategy to win deals
    • Train sales team and partners on competitive differentiation on an ongoing basis
    • Evangelize CloudBees’ competitive differentiation through internal channels
    • Interface regularly with field sales, Technical field teams and Business Partners
    • Support a global, rapidly expanding, marketing and sales organization to build compelling competitive content
    • Monitor, mine and curate competitive nuggets from independent review sites like G2Crowd, Capterra, Gartner Peer Insights, IT Central Station and TrustRadius
    • Collaborate with the broader Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Development/ Product teams to translate competitive insights into concrete business recommendations
    • Experience working with third parties for activities such as lab validations and product comparison a plus
