About This Role

You will work directly with the CEO and the leadership team to help shape the company's People team. You'll build a world-class culture in a remote work environment. We are growing rapidly and need a thoughtful and strategic human resources specialist who has past experience in recruiting, talent development, employee enrichment, benefits, operations, and other People & Culture disciplines. The best candidate for this position will be a person who is comfortable in a high-growth tech startup, is passionate about growing and development people, understands remote work/culture, and can help us scale our business. Working closely with business leaders across the company, your work will be instrumental in scaling each department, while developing and maintaining Chainlink's culture and values and ensuring we remain a people-first company.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivering creative strategies and experiences that span a broad range of crucial People functions, such as recruiting, performance management, on-boarding, culture and values, leadership development, and team engagement.

  • Oversee and enhance company OKR processes for effective goal setting, tracking, and alignment

  • Develop strategies to create an effective and fair hiring process including job postings, interviews, recruiting, on-boarding, enrichment, and retention

  • Manage the entire recruiting process and act as a candidate / hiring manager advocate, ensuring that leaders are supported in building stable talent pipelines

  • Establish internal communications initiatives, such as newsletters and all-hands, to foster transparency, alignment, and information sharing

  • Refine our end-to-end approach to values, people development, and experience

  • Build rewards programs aligned with a culture of recognition, gratitude, wellness, and appreciation (including peer-to-peer)

  • Lead and iterate on performance review and promotion processes while supporting employees with career development and growth mindset

  • Oversee department and company-wide off-sites to bring together the distributed team from around the world

  • Resolve sensitive personnel matters with the utmost integrity, discretion, and thoughtfulness

  • Develop and enforce fair and thoughtful People policies that look out for the best interests of all team members

  • Respond to a wide variety of challenges that fall to the People team to resolve on a day-to-day basis

Requirements

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or above

  • 7+ years of work experience and 5+ years in a relevant People & Culture role

  • Experience as a full-cycle technical recruiter in a fast-paced environment (ideally within a start-up is a plus)

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to evangelize and champion our mission, vision, and values with candidates and employees alike

  • A go-getter who demonstrates strong consultative, relationship-building, influence, and self-management skills

  • High aptitude for EQ, inclusion, and interpersonal skills to build trust with teammates from all parts of the company and across remote offices

  • A proven track record of developing standards for hiring, fostering teamwork, spearheading operational processes, and quickly establishing credibility in working relationships

  • Ability to prioritize and work well in a fast-paced, rapidly growing tech environment

  • Demonstrated net positive contributor to company community and culture above and beyond job duties, especially for remote work environments

  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Easily flexes between strategic and tactical/hands-on tasks as needed

  • Experience providing coaching and support, and development to new hires, employees, and leaders

    About the Role

    This role is fully remote.

    In this role you will work primarily with the Front End developers and own, drive, and improve the non-technical aspects of the Front End release cycle. You will also work with the Engineering and Product teams to help build, maintain, and track timelines, and coordinate around objectives. You should be familiar with agile and waterfall planning and comfortable with a combination approach. Overall, we are looking for someone with a methodical, analytical, and flexible approach to release and project management who will coordinate and collaborate within and without the Front End team to alleviate the non-technical burden of shipping well and often.

    What you'll do:

    • Own non-technical aspects of ongoing release process including coordination, documentation, and process improvement
    • Work with the Product Team to break up larger epics and stories into smaller consumable units of development
    • Work with the Product Team, Frontend team, other Engineering Teams, and major stakeholders to coordinate work and follow up on deliverables
    • Identify task blockers in advance
    • Manage project workflows, groom tickets and boards, and look for duplicates, invalid, or undefined tickets to help ensure everything in the queue is ready to be worked on
    • Develop road maps through accurate estimates based on Jira metrics you will collect and analyze
    • Maintain, coordinate, and communicate project timelines
    • Create executive dashboards and reports that would show the status of major projects, resource utilization, gaps and roadmap

    Who you are:

    • Minimum of 10+ years experience working as a project manager or similar role
    • Jira expert with two or more years experience with Kanban project management or light Scrum, and the openness to experiment with process
    • Spreadsheet expert (Google Sheets, Excel) comfortable with pivot tables and statistical analysis
    • Excellent communication skills and eagerness to ask questions and understand business and product objectives
    • The energy and patience to work in a rapidly growing industry, and the ability to recognize and pursue objectives independently
    • Superb organizational skills and an analytical view on maximizing productivity, with a focus on value and not getting caught up on process
    • Resilient determination to push projects through to completion, regardless of how often priorities and deadlines may shift with little notice


    Must haves:

    • Experience with Tableau, Looker, Metabase, or other BI tools
    • Experience managing projects in Jira, Trello, and Wrike
    • Must be comfortable working with simple command-line tools to export data from internal systems
    • Strong understanding of basic statistics
    • You have worked with software teams in the role of project manager – you know how to talk tech-lingo to engineers of various disciplines and understand what their jobs entail: the tasks, challenges, and costs of each position on a team are something you can appreciate

  • Students enroll in Thinkful courses to gain the valuable technical and professional skills needed to take them from curious learners to employed software developers. As an Immersive Course Instructor, you will deliver high quality live workshop content based on existing curriculum, preparing students to successfully transition careers. 

    In addition to working directly with students, Instructors are expected to maintain an environment of regular, candid feedback with the Educator Experience team, and to stay on top of important updates via meetings, email, and Slack. Ideal candidates for this team are highly coachable, display genuine student advocacy, and are comfortable working in a complex, rapidly changing environment. 

    Responsibilities:

    -Delivers high quality workshops based on the curriculum materials, and provides live coding demos when appropriate, to supplement written materials and content to provide students with the skills and knowledge to get their first developer job 

    -Maintains and updates the daily and weekly student syllabus which outlines the required homework and assignments, and deadlines for assessments and projects 

    -Provides up to 2 hours daily of on-demand video and chat support for students as they move through the program assignments 

    -Spends up to 4 hours a day prepping for workshops and updating course materials

    -Works with the other Format Leads for engagement formats (Mentor Sessions, Group Sessions, Grading, Technical Coaching, Mock Interviews/Assessments) to ensure that consistent experience is happening for students in immersive courses 

    -Provide constructive feedback to the Instructional Design team on improvements to the course materials and curriculum based on student experience with the materials 

    Requirements:

    -Strong expertise with Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, SQL, and Python, and comfort explaining these topics.

    -Ability to explain complicated topics clearly and without jargon

    -Strong written and verbal communication skills

    -High level of detail orientation and an exceptional work ethic

    -Enjoy working with people, not just putting your head down and working

    -Must have a reliable, high-speed Internet connection

    -Minimum 3-4 years of professional data analytics experience

    -Teaching Experience, especially in a remote or online class, is a plus

    -Must be eligible to work in the United States
