In this atypical project management role, you will work side-by-side with Semaphore cofounder and CTO Darko Fabijan on new product development.

Semaphore has never had a dedicated project manager. And yet, we've created a developer product used by everyone from SMBs to publicly traded corporations.

As we move forward, your job will be to make sure that nothing slips through the cracks and that, as a team, we make the best use of our time.

You will attend design and engineering calls, keep track of next steps, track day-to-day execution across projects, detect when things get off track and provide reports as needed.


  • Software project management: daily communication with developers, and operational work like planning and providing KPIs.

  • Assist product management by managing releases and feature requests.

  • Act as liaison with other teams, like Customer Support and Customer Success.


  • 5+ years of experience in managing software projects with productive, high functioning teams.

  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.

  • Experience working remotely.

  • Engineering acumen, either through past work or significant project management experience.

  • Able to find the right way of communicating with different types of people and get things done in harmony.

  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work under minimal supervision.

  • Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion.

  • Being able to exercise sound business judgment.

    • Demonstrate an expert understanding of underlying client business goals and objectives. Consistently identify strategic opportunities to engage with the 10up Account Management Team and collaborate towards building strong, long-term client relationships.

    • Demonstrate a senior-level consultative, client-focused approach that emanates expertise, professionalism, and transparency.

    • Maintain project forecasts in 10up's established resource forecasting tool, collaborating with Team Leads to adjust resourcing plans as necessary.

    • Deliver verbal and written project-centric feedback to personnel, celebrating successes and identifying any misalignments with expectations. Consistently provide visibility to the Team Lead when delivering this feedback.

    • Collaborate with Financial Manager to prepare invoices for all assigned project work.

    • Maintain an average minimum of 34 hours / week (85%) of billable work.


    • An understanding of core 10up services and ability to leverage these disciplines to deliver successful client outcomes.

    • A practical understanding of the WordPress platform.

    • Excellent application of 10up processes, standards, and tools across projects.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally.

    Nice to have

    • 3+ years of project management experience delivering full scope web projects for enterprise clients, ideally in an agency environment.

    • PMI, scrum certification, or equivalent experience.

    • Familiarity with Google Apps, Teamwork, 10,000ft, and Harvest.

    • Remote working experience.

We produce hundreds of articles each month, with dozens of writers (both full-time and contract) spread out all over the world. We're fully remote, so you’re free to work whatever hours you want (as long as some overlap with your clients).

    Here's a rough list of typical activities you’d face from week to week:

    • Coordinating new work with clients

    • Assigning new work

    • Coordinating work with specialists (writers) and editors based on deadlines (for outlines, drafts, edits, etc.)

    • Some QA work (things like light copy edits, checking plagiarism, etc.) to make sure deliverables (pieces of content) meet client specs

    • Reporting/updating progress to client

    • Managing capacity to see if we need to test/hire new writers

    • Coordinating new test writers, vetting quality, etc.

    In other words, you're like a part-account executive to help clients and part-project manager, making sure we're delivering everything on time and under budget.

    Overview of the Role

    We're looking for a warm personality to care for our customers and contractors alike, end-to-end. There is HUGE potential for career growth!


    • Work with a Regional Manager (in field) to manage all customer projects within your region. As the main point of contact you are the primary person responsible to keep our customers and contractors happy. Examples of daily communications may involve: speaking with a customer and arranging a return visit to address a complaint, explaining payments to a contractor, arranging a Regional Manager to onboard a new contractor etc.

    • Expected to manage 10-20 jobs a weeks working with 3-4 contractors who may have 1-2 crews each

    • Fully manage your regions day to day operations, including: monitoring/optimizing daily schedule, verifying project profitability, proactively prevent bottlenecks and escalations, etc.

    • Responsible for upsell of new products to same customers, tracking referrals etc.

    • Respond to customers and installers in a timely manner and document all communication in Front and/or our native apps

    • Communicate as a responsive and friendly team player between many teams and departments of the organization

    • Work with your Regional Manager to hire new crews based on customer demand

    Desired Skills and Experience

    Must have

    • Excellent written and communication skills

    • Must be fluent in both English and Spanish, ideally native in one of the two

    • Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment and keep many moving pieces in order in your region

    • Detail oriented to complete and appropriately document tasks in multi-step processes

    • Tech savvy and quick to interface with multiple programs/websites/spreadsheets at once

    • Must be available for 40hr+ a week and able to work in PST time zone, including some weekend work

    Nice to have

    • Prior knowledge in home services

    • Prior experience in construction project management

    • Customer success experience

    Technical requirements: 

    • Good Laptop setup with Chrome browser

    • Minimum of 8gb RAM

    • Minimum processor:  i3 6000 Series +

    • Stable high-speed internet connection (at least 5-20 Mbps) 

    • Noise cancellation headset 

    • Power backup - 250-300W UPS

    • Data availability - Ability to access up to 1.5GB of data per day during storm outages
