      About Us

At Close, we're building the sales communication platform of the future. With our roots as the very first sales CRM to include built-in calling, we're leading the industry toward eliminating manual processes and helping companies to close more deals (faster). Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a profitable, 100% globally distributed team of 43 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

Our backend tech stack currently consists of Python Flask/Gunicorn web apps with our TaskTiger scheduler handling many of the backend asynchronous task processing. Our data stores include MongoDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis. As a well rounded systems reliability engineer with a diverse set of skills, this makes you one of the very best people to troubleshoot, monitor the platform, and be on top of releases. You should definitely be the type that appreciates diversity in your day, and challenges outside of your comfort level! A typical day might include these types of activities:

      - Taking charge of the build process and pipelines across the platform.
      - Being keenly aware of systems architecture and automatically adding in redundancy and backup for new systems and software.
      - Assist in troubleshooting a complex customer issues across network devices, server hardware, virtual machines, in-house software and open source software. Not only can you run tcpdump with filters on the command line, but you can read it there also.
      - Adding additional monitoring and alerting on all systems across the platform that will help you identify one of those annoying intermittent issues you have seen in the logs.

      Skills & Requirements
The right candidates will probably have a CS degree, solid scripting and automation skills, great troubleshooting skills across the OS and network, a good grasp on security concepts, experience with routing platforms and protocols, and enjoy working collaboratively.

      Specific requirements include:

      - Experience in automating tasks through scripting. You should be very well versed with Python, and probably a few other languages. We will ask for script samples.
      - High degree of drive to improve and automate your environment with minimal guidance
      - Be able to solve for immediate, and plan to accommodate for future problems

        About Us

We're building a nationwide network of crowdsourced commercial real estate databases. Our wild start-up days are behind us – we're all grown up and profitable now with a 14-year track record and tens of thousands of clients that love us.

Within our small team, you'll be doing a little bit of everything:

        • Building and maintaining server-side frameworks and APIs
        • Adding and refining front-end features (JSP, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5)
        • If you're into it, configuring and managing parts of our stack (JBoss/Wildfly, MySQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch/ELK, salt)

We're not dogmatic about our tools/technologies – we use whatever best suits the task at hand.

        About You

Like us, you value stability, work/life balance, group decisions, and working with people that are good-natured, interesting, hard-working, and self-motivated.

You're a quick study, have some experience using Java to build web applications, and aren't afraid of the command line.

        Catylist is for you if...

        • You hate the corporate bureaucracy of a big company.
        • You're so over the chaos and uncertainty of a start-up. You like having reasonable hours and knowing that your job will be around next week.
        • Consulting/freelance is not your bag. You prefer to maintain and improve the products you've built rather than hand them off and move on.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, remote, W2 position with benefits (health/dental/vision/401k).

When applying, please take some time and explain why you're a fit for our team, and please include your resume, github link, and anything else that will help us understand how awesome you are.

This role is responsible for all aspects of the go-to-market, including market segmentation, messaging and positioning, competitive differentiation, product marketing, field enablement, media and analyst relations. You will work closely with Elastic product managers and engineering to align and communicate Elastic's vision with the market, users, customers, and partners. Success criteria include market expansion, internal and external validation, and customer success that translates into recurring revenue for Elastic.

        Responsibilities:

        • Grow and share expert knowledge on competitive capabilities.
        • Lead cloud-related strategy for community, events, and analyst relations

        • Represent the company at various speaking engagements, conferences, and press interviews.
        • Lead a growing Elastic Stack PMM team including hiring and development of talent.
        Requirements:
        • Highly meaningful domain expertise - experience in our main solutions (Observability, Security, Enterprise Search) or datastore/NoSQL platforms. Familiarity with the Elastic Stack a plus.
        • Deep understanding of how open source communities adopt products. Experience leading go-to-market at an open-source company a plus.
        • Several years of experience leading outbound product initiatives passionate about enterprise customers with complex requirements.
        • Experience leading product and/or product marketing functions at a specialized business unit, collaborating with matrixed generalist marketing, sales, and partner organizations.

        • Comfort working in a cross-functional role with a highly distributed team.

      • We're looking to add a new node to the Elastic Product cluster as part of the Product Management team. Since the very early days at Elastic, we’ve been committed to geospatial search and use cases. Elastic Maps is our latest investment in geo. It is a solution in Kibana that enables our community to build maps and analyze geospatial data in real time with the speed and scale that Elasticsearch provides. In addition to Elastic Maps, we also have the Elastic Maps Service, which is a free service for hosted vector tiles and shapes and core to the solution. Kibana empowers millions of users to answer hard questions and analyze large data sets. We view geo as core to Kibana and the Elastic Stack and see significant opportunity in furthering our communities use cases in addition to disrupting existing markets. To be successful in this role you will need to be a self starter, detail oriented, and have experience building out and working with GIS and location driven applications. You will need to be able to balance technical problem solving with product design and usability. If you are passionate about geo, end user experience, and building simple solutions for complex problems we would love to talk to you!

        What You Will Be Doing:

You will work together with the Kibana Product Management team, engineering, customers and other internal stakeholders to position and grow adoption of Elastic Maps. Your focus will primarily be in the areas of geospatial data exploration & visualization, map building features & experiences and our hosted geo services.

You will capture market competitive and trend data, customer and open source community feedback, usage data, and other key information to develop product insights and help drive the product roadmap at scale.

        In addition you will:
        • Gather feedback from the community and customer base to iterate on UIs that are core to the success of Elastic Maps
        • Work closely with our engineering and design teams to introduce new features, workflows and experiences to Elastic Maps and extend to Elastic solutions such as Observability and Security Analytics
        • Build out net new features and products for all geospatial use cases in both self managed and hosted environments
        • Work with support, product marketing, and sales to ensure Elastic Maps is properly supported, promoted, and utilized by the community
        • Provide competitive insight into a variety of products and markets for both sales enablement and engineering awareness
        What You Bring Along:

You are broadly knowledgeable of modern GIS or geospatial applications design concepts, common data schemas and technologies used to serve and analyze geo data, and technologies for geo data analysis trends and techniques.

You are curious about how and why our community and customers utilize and extend the capabilities of the Elastic Stack, specifically Elastic Maps and Kibana.

        In addition, you have:
        • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. CS, CSE, EE) or meaningful work experience in a technical discipline (mandatory)
        • Comfort working in a very cross-functional role, with a highly distributed, global team
        • Excellent spoken and written business oriented and technical communication skills
        • Product management or development experience with modern geospatial applications (mandatory)
