Design (44)

The Hero Company is looking for a Graphic Designer/Creative Director, and if you’re the right fit for our culture, this may well be the best job you’ve ever had.

At our core, we’re a direct marketing company. In other words…

    • We create incredible products: everything from relationship advice ebooks for single men, to fitness courses for young women, to nutritional supplements for everyone.
    • We create captivating sales and marketing websites to sell those products.
    • We buy ads, to drive traffic to our sales and marketing websites.
    • We run email promotions to our prospects and customers, to keep them engaged, happy, and buying more.
    • We manage the infrastructure required to support it all: the tech, operations, finance and customer support.

We’ve been around since 2007, and our team has been responsible for over $50,000,000 of online sales in the past decade. We’ve maintained an A+ Better Business Bureau rating, and just as importantly, rave reviews from our customers.

Even better… we did it all remotely. Despite our distance, we have a fantastic, fun, highly-driven “online culture”, with clear alignment on our values and our mission. We play to win, we learn from our mistakes and we celebrate our victories and each other.

The Hero Company is a poor fit for anyone who wants to “phone it in” or spend their days on social media. Underperformers, excuse-makers and games players don’t last long here. If dedication to your work and your teammates isn’t a top 3 life priority (and hopefully the other two are friends/family and health!), this isn’t the right place for you.

On the other hand: if you’re self-motivated, growth-oriented, and hard-working… and if you’re looking for the right balance of stable employment, and the freedom to shape your days and your own success… then this is where you’ll find it.

    Position: Graphic Designer/Creative Director

We are searching for a Graphic Designer/Creative Director to support our fast-paced marketing efforts.

Your job will be to design everything from sales pages, to product/package labels, to ecommerce websites, to… yes… banners!

It is imperative that you have deep experience with Direct Response Marketing. You should be intimately familiar with landing pages, sales pages, checkout pages, UI best practices, and Conversion Optimization. If you haven’t spent at least a year doing Direct Response design, please do not apply.

That said, we are hoping for a “unicorn” who can produce not just killer landing pages, but also beautiful brand designs, product labels, and branded websites!

Our websites are seen by millions of people every month… which means a heck of a lot of eyes on your designs.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Partner with the Marketing Director to bring campaign ideas to life, including web landing pages, emails, package design, social media graphics and more.
    • Design cohesive campaigns across multiple platforms including desktop, mobile, and tablet.
    • Ensure all final production files are prepared correctly and ready for development.
    • Work collaboratively with the development team to execute the UX/UI solutions.

    Skills & Requirements

    • At least 1 year of Direct Marketing design experience
    • At least 5 years of general design experience
    • Deep understanding of conversion-optimized design
    • You’re an aesthete, and proud of it.
    • You work well alone, but you’re a team player

    The Ideal Candidate Is Also

    • Relentlessly self-motivated, and extremely driven to succeed. You’ll take direction, but don’t need motivation, to be accountable for your results.
    • Detail-Oriented: you notice when design elements “don’t add up,” you pay attention to how words are spelled, and you’re the first to catch mistakes.
    • Organized and “On Top of It”: you know your area of competence so well that you don’t need to go looking for the answers when someone asks you a question.
    • Obsessively Growth Oriented: you look for ways to improve yourself, and the work you do.

    Salary, Benefits, and Perks

You’ll start out as an independent contractor at $45-70/hour (depending on your experience level), and you’ll be responsible for hitting 30, 60 and 90-day milestones. If you meet or exceed expectations, your full-time offer will be as follows:

    • $75,000 and up Base Pay (depending on your experience level) + opportunity to grow it quickly*
    • Full Health and Dental Benefits
    • Work from wherever, as long as you perform and are on time for our online meetings and conference calls
    • Unlimited Vacation + Major Holidays Off

*If you have more than 2 years of Direct Response experience, and a stellar track record, we will consider a higher base.

    To Apply

Please send the following to [email protected]

    • Your resume/CV
    • A 4-8 paragraph introduction. Please send this in the body of the email, and not as a separate attachment.

In this introduction, please tell us about why this appeals to you, and include any/all relevant portfolio items: websites, product labels, and yes… even banners!

We can’t wait for the right candidate to join us, and we’re looking forward to hearing from you!

    DESCRIPTION

DocStation is a platform that makes it easy for pharmacists to transition away from dispensing pills to providing clinical care for patients. We built the platform with their workflow in mind as opposed to billing requirements, which plagues most of the industry/market. We’re also in a unique position because the majority of the tech innovation has happened at the Hospital/Health System level while pharmacy has been left in the stone age; which is a huge market opportunity as pharmacy starts to catch up.

We receive data from insurance claims on a daily, weekly, monthly cadence that we transform into patient profiles, medication lists, and insights in the UI in order to augment the clinical work of pharmacists to give them time back in their day. We have lots of data at our fingertips and we need your help presenting it to pharmacists so they can take even better care of their patients.

As an early employee, you'll help establish a design system to tighten up our current product offering while setting the stage for where we're headed in the next 6-12 months. We've got a clear path forward in terms of how we can continue to streamline a pharmacists workflow and give them time back in their busy schedules but we need your help to make sure we're solving those problems in a foundational manner so we can continue to build on them.

You'll set up processes that will enable us to not only solve small problems quickly but also to craft the future of DocStation. You'll work in a collaborative environment, demonstrating empathy for our users while balancing the vision and constraints of engineering.

    REQUIREMENTS

Some things you might work on:

    • Establish a design system that allows engineering to build quickly/efficiently.
    • Work closely with pharmacists to design new features and iterate on the existing offering.
    • Further establish the DocStation brand to allow for future product offerings.
    • Improve the design/messaging of our marketing site.
    • Design marketing strategies and materials for conferences/events.

You will do phenomenal in this role if you have:

    • Compassion for pharmacists working in a busy setting.
    • A collaborative spirit to work with and learn from the entire organization.
    • Initiative to identify problems and act on opportunities to improve the product.
    • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.
    • Integrity, respect for others, modesty, and passion.

It's a plus if you also have:

    • Experience designing for complex products with large amounts of data to input and view.
    • Experience using tools to collaborate with the rest of the company about designs (InVision, Marvel, Figma).
    • HTML/CSS experience to contribute to building or modifying components.

Why is now the right time for DocStation & Value Based Pharmacy?:

The American healthcare system is broken (watch this episode of Patriot Act with Hasan Minhajand pharmacists are in a unique position to help take better care of patients while saving money in the process. Thankfully, the traditional business model of dispensing pills (how most people think of pharmacists) is going the way of the dodo due to razor thin margins (thanks Amazon/PillPack). Pharmacists are eager to increase the amount of clinical care they're providing and health plans/insurers are starting to recognize the value of that work.

    Some additional stats:

    BENEFITS

    Some DocStation benefits:

    • Fully distributed company - work from wherever you're most comfortable
    • Competitive salary & health benefits
    • Equipment you need to do your job
    • Team retreats & outings (our last was to Big Sky, MT for skiing/snowboarding)

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

TeamSnap is looking for a multi-talented UX, product and marketing designer to work in our digital advertising and e-commerce line of business. You should be a design generalist who loves to do it all. You’ll wear multiple hats while supporting digital advertising and e-commerce initiatives from conception to launch. Previous experience working in an advertising/media/commerce role or agency is highly-desirable but not strictly required. Apply anyway.

This role will directly report to the Chief Creative Officer, but you will spend most time working directly with leaders in the advertising and commerce line of business.

    About us

TeamSnap is an award-winning communication and management service for recreational and competitive sports teams, tournaments and organizations. With over 20 million enthusiastic customers in 195 countries, TeamSnap is indispensable for teams, clubs and leagues worldwide.

We value trust, communication and fun more than big company policies and rules, and we thrive on empowering our people instead of controlling them. TeamSnap has been named to Outside Magazine’s list of Best Places to Work three consecutive years.

    What you’ll be doing

Our advertising and commerce division connects customers to top-name brands, offering highly-relevant messages, products and deals that save busy families time and money. Buckle up and get ready to do lots of different things, including:

    • Concepting and designing new ways for brands to sponsor or integrate with TeamSnap features, on web and mobile.
    • Concepting and designing new TeamSnap features, driven by brands.
    • Improving and extending the appearance of digital display and video advertising within the TeamSnap platform – banners, in-app, native, interstitials, takeovers, skins, and out-of-the-box ideas.
    • Improving and extending TeamSnap’s e-commerce platform.
    • Developing marketing materials (presentation, pitch and recap decks, leave-behinds, etc.) for the advertising sales team.
    • Building and managing the advertising and e-commerce presence on the TeamSnap company website.
    • Designing marketing campaigns for select brands/partners
    • Designing marketing emails.
    • Bringing a can-do spirit, enthusiasm for advertising/commerce and a love for generating ideas.

    Some things that are important:

    • Full-stack visual design skills, equally comfortable designing for web, mobile, responsive mobile web, email or infographics/presentations. You love to get down and dirty with HTML, CSS and email frameworks, and you consider yourself the ultimate problem solver.
    • You can take projects from concept to launch, but you’re equally delighted to collaborate with other designers, whether you are starting or finishing the project. You’re always looking for the best answer.
    • You’re a fantastic communicator, in person, in writing and especially over video chat
    • You’ve got big ideas and a tiny ego, which means you love to share rough draft work and invite everyone else to help make it better. You do the same for your colleagues, and you’re the kind of person who earns and invites trust from your peers through thoughtful feedback.
    • Design is subjective, but it’s also testable, which is why you’re a huge fan of A/B testing and data-driven decision making. When you start a project the first question you ask is how you’ll measure and validate success; you build testing and metrics into everything you do and understand how to separate meaningful data from noise.
    • You are enthusiastic about digital advertising and commerce, and have relevant experience with brands at an agency/media/advertising publisher, or the ability to get up to speed fast. At the same time, you’re passionate about the customer experience and usability, as that’s TeamSnap edge in a competitive world.
    • You’re comfortable with Celtra, HTML 5, VAST, VPAID, and other animated, video, and rich media formats (or can get comfortable fast).
    • Most importantly, you’re a super nice person with a great sense of humor. We’re a respectful, fun and responsible company that only hires people we’d personally like to hang out with.

    Location

We are headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, but this job is remote (unless you happen to live near Boulder, in which case you’re welcome to come to the office). TeamSnap is a mostly-distributed company, so you must be very comfortable working with people who aren’t in the same physical location as you or each other. While we love the entire world, we can only hire US-based citizens at this time.

    Why TeamSnap?

    • Work on a product that people use and love
    • While we’re still relatively small, we’re not a fly-by-night startup; we’re the leader in a massive market
    • We have a proven revenue model, an experienced executive team, solid funding, and a strong strategic plan
    • We have fantastic benefits, and you’ll have a stake in the company

If you’re looking for an opportunity to show off the very best of your skills, in an environment of trust, respect and flexibility, this might very well be the best job you’ll ever have. We’re passionate about helping our customers spend less time organizing and more time playing.

    Benefits and Perks

We offer competitive salary and benefits, lots of opportunity to develop professionally, and the ability to demonstrate what you can achieve. TeamSnap is still small enough that your actions will help drive our success.

    Benefits include:

    • Competitive salary
    • Medical/dental/vision for you and your family
    • Education reimbursement up to $1,500/yr
    • Wellness stipend of $50/mo
    • 401K
    • Up to $300/yr to donate to charitable causes
    • Free TeamSnap service for your family and friends
    • Free TeamSnap swag.
    • Flexible PTO and vacation policy

    Diversity and Inclusion

TeamSnap is a company built around trust, kindness and collaboration, where diverse backgrounds, experiences and viewpoints are celebrated and valued. This is a place where everybody belongs.

    Remote

    This position is remote based.

    A brief overview:

GitLab is building an open source, single application for the entire DevOps lifecycle—from project planning and source code management to CI/CD, monitoring, and security.

We’re looking to add a Senior Visual Designer/Illustrator to our already large team of UX Designers and UX Researchers to help beautify GitLab's UI and refine our design system. If you're an outstanding Illustrator & Visual Designer who is experienced at designing pixel-perfect UI components for enterprise tools, then you may be a great fit.

At GitLab, we live and breathe open source principles. This means our entire handbook is online, and with a few clicks you can find the details of future releases and an overview of the product vision you’d contribute to when working here. We’re planning to more than double the UX team's size over the next year. You can look over our organizational chart to see other open vacancies.

What you can expect in a Senior Visual Designer/Illustrator role at GitLab:

    • You’ll be expected to refine and extend the existing custom icon library, and create illustrations for things like null states, error pages, and supplemental illustrations on design.gitlab.com.
    • You’ll create deliverables (lo-fi wireframes, hi-fi mockups, prototypes, hi-fi visuals etc.) to communicate ideas, as needed.
    • You’ll partner with UX Designers and Researchers to conduct user testing, incorporate feedback, and share findings and recommendations.
    • You’ll review new designs created by UX Designers to help ensure consistency throughout the system.
    • You’ll help create and maintain documentation for the design system.
    • You’ll work with developers to iterate on and refine the UI experience. You’ll also implement designs in HTML/CSS, as needed.
    • You’ll be expected to help break down designs to fit within the monthly release cadence.

    Projects you might work on:

You’ll spend much of your time helping to move Pajamas Design System components to a "Complete" status. You’ll also identify refinements to optimize existing components, while collaborating with Frontend Engineers, Developers, and UX Designers.

    You should apply if:

    • You have a portfolio of beautifully executed illustrations, enterprise UI designs, and SVGs. (Animated SVGs are a bonus.)
    • You're a master at creating useful icons and elegant UI interactions.
    • You've helped to create a Design System that's implemented in code.
    • You understand accessibility and how it impacts visual design.
    • The idea of playing a key part in the evolution of our Pajamas Design System is truly exciting to you.
    • You’re able to write custom HTML and CSS. (Any JavaScript skills would be a bonus too.)
    • You’ve worked for a company that builds and maintains a deeply complex product.
    • You’re humble and able to freely discuss your own strengths and weaknesses (and those of others), but always in a kind and appropriate way.
    • Our values of collaboration, results, efficiency, diversity, iteration, and transparency resonate with you.

What it's like to work here at GitLab:

The culture here at GitLab is something we’re incredibly proud of. Because GitLabbers are currently located in 51 different countries, you’ll spend your time collaborating with kind, talented, and motivated colleagues from across the globe.

Some of the benefits you’ll be entitled to vary by the region or country you’re in. However, all GitLabbers are fully remote and receive a "no ask, must tell" paid-time-off policy, where we don’t count the number of days you take off annually. You can work incredibly flexible hours, enabled by our asynchronous approach to communication. Also, every nine months or so, we’ll invite you to our Contribute event.

Our hiring process for this Sr. Visual Designer/Illustrator position typically follows four stages where you’ll speak with one of our Global Recruiters, a UX Designer, a UX Manager and the UX Director. The compensation for this Sr. Visual Designer/Illustrator aligns with the compensation for the UX Design role, which can be found at the bottom of this page.

    Hiring Process

Candidates for this position can expect the hiring process to follow the order below. Please keep in mind that candidates can be declined from the position at any stage of the process. To learn more about someone who may be conducting the interview, find her/his job title on our team page.

    • Selected candidates will be invited to schedule a 30 minute screening call with our Global Recruiters.
    • Next, candidates will be invited to schedule a 45 minute first interview with a UX Designer.
    • Candidates will then be invited to schedule a 1 hour interview with the UX Manager. This interview will include a run-through of basic UX and UI dev skills as described in the responsibilities.
    • Candidates will be invited to schedule a third 45 minute interview with our UX Director.
    • Successful candidates will subsequently be made an offer via email.

Additional details about our process can be found on our hiring page.

    Hi there!

We're looking for a Design Manager to lead our design efforts around Content & Acquisition efforts at Zapier. Are you excited to build and run a user-centered product design team in a 100% remote company? Then keep reading!

We know applying for and taking on a new job at any company requires a leap of faith. We want you to feel comfortable and excited to apply at Zapier. To help share a bit more about life at Zapier, here are a few resources in addition to the job description that can give you an inside look at what life is like at Zapier. Hopefully, you'll take the leap and apply.

Zapier is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.

    About you

You know content products. This role is focussed on growing our App Directory, which millions of people visit every month. You've previously grown a news, reviews, forum, support content, or similar product that combined in-house content with user generated content. You've taken a product lens to content. You've spent time thinking through how content can acquire new users through SEO.

You are an experienced design leader. This isn't your first rodeo. You may not have hired or managed hundreds of people before, but you have hired, trained and managed multiple designers before.

You put your team's and customer's needs first. You enjoy helping and enabling designers do great work. You optimize your design strategy for what helps users best achieve their goals. You use data and user research to make human-centered design decisions. You challenge assumptions about what makes a design successful through encouraging divergent exploration and talking to users.

You love collaboration and feedback. You understand successful design doesn't happen in a vacuum or in secret. You believe in sharing work early, openly, and often. You enjoy teaming up with product managers, engineers, data scientists, customer champions, writers, and customers to help make the design team's work as effective as possible.

You know how design impacts development. You understand the technical complexities a design might introduce, and you can work through them with your teammates. You don't believe in “tossing designs over the wall” and would dread doing so.

You are resourceful. You know how to work across functions to get the help the design team needs to execute on projects. You work diligently to ensure progress is made across active projects.

    Things you might do

    • Hold weekly one on ones with members of the design team in your zone (today that's 3 product designers)

    • Hold a weekly design meeting to help the design team execute on current design priorities

    • Build rapport with each member of the design team and work hard to help them level up their skills

    • Collaborate across functions to help set roadmaps to achieve business goals through design

    • Advocate for and teach design skills across the organization. Find ways to involve non-designers in the design process through design sprints and other creative means.

    • Contribute to and help build our design system

    • Provide feedback on design solutions through wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes

    • Participate in user research and other experiments to inform design decisions

    • Give, seek, and receive thoughtful design critique

    • Actively recruit, onboard and train new product designers at Zapier

    • As a part of our All Hands Support initiative, help customers have the best possible experience with Zapier

    About Zapier

For the past seven years, Zapier has been helping people across the world automate the boring and tedious parts of their job. We do that by helping everyone connect the web applications they already use and love.

We believe that there are jobs a computer is best at doing and that there are jobs a human is best at doing. We want to empower businesses to create processes and systems that let computers do what they are best at doing and let humans do what they are best at doing.

We believe that with the right tools, you can have big impact with less hassle.

We believe in small teams. Small teams are fast and nimble. Small teams mean less bureaucracy and less management and more getting things done.

We believe in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. All teammates at Zapier agree to a code of conduct.

    The Whole Package

    Location: Remote

Our distributed environment lets us work with the best people. You don't have to be located in the USA either. Some team members live in the United Kingdom, Thailand, India, Nigeria, Taiwan, Guatemala, New Zealand, Australia, and more! You just need the skills and drive to succeed in this role and the ability to work from anywhere.

    Compensation:

    • Competitive salary (we don't use remote as an excuse to pay less)
    • Great healthcare + dental + vision coverage*
    • Retirement plan with 4% company match*
    • Profit sharing
    • 2 annual company retreats to awesome places
    • 14 weeks paid leave for new parents of biological or adopted children
    • Pick your own equipment. We'll set you up with whatever Apple laptop + monitor combo you want plus any software you need.
    • Unlimited vacation policy. Plus we require you to take at least 2 weeks off each year. We see most employees take 4-5 weeks off per year. This isn't a vague policy where unlimited vacation means no vacation.
    • Work with awesome companies around the world. We partner with great software companies all over the world and you'll constantly get to interact with people from these great companies

*While we take care of our international folks as best we can, currently, healthcare and retirement plans are only available to US-based employees.

    How to Apply

We have a non-standard application process. To jump-start the process we ask a few questions we normally would ask at the start of an interview. This helps speed up the process and lets us get to know you a bit better right out of the gate. Please make sure to answer each question. After you apply, you are going to hear back from us, even if we don't seem like a good fit. In fact, throughout the process, we strive to make sure you never go more than seven days without hearing from us.

Optional: Share anonymously some demographic information about yourself to help us better track trends related to the backgrounds of candidates interested in working at Zapier in order for us to build a team that represents the users at Zapier and the broader world population.

Zapier is an equal opportunity employer. We're excited to work with talented and empathetic people no matter their race, color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, physical or mental disability, or age. Our code of conduct provides a beacon for the kind of company we strive to be, and we celebrate our differences because those differences are what allow us to make a product that serves a global user base.

You are a generalist with a wide set of design skills including user interface design, user experience design, an understanding of usability concerns, and the ability to write easily digestible copy. You enjoy the challenge of designing for sometimes deeply technical problems.

You have worked with, or helped create, design systems and understand version control for design files (we use Abstract).

You are comfortable working remotely as part of a small team, with a high level of autonomy. You have designed beautiful and elegant solutions for desktop SaaS products and are familiar with the space.

You understand technical constraints, their impact, and can adjust your design approach accordingly. You enjoy the problem solving aspects of design, and you’ve had experience working on complex web or desktop apps.

You have been wrong and can admit it. You can articulate why it happened and how you’ve learned from that experience. You’re not precious about your designs and can accept constructive feedback freely. Equally, you can argue effectively for your viewpoint when needed.

You are able to easily demonstrate your process for taking rough concepts and briefs from lo-fi sketches through to high fidelity mockups ready to be implemented. You’re confident in communicating the rationale of your decisions.

You are in a European or American timezone.

    About The Role

You will be responsible for understanding and designing new features and improvements as part of a small feature team. You will ensure the solution satisfies the initial problem statement, is technically viable, and integrates well with existing design patterns (or adds new ones where necessary).

You’ll be working with Craig (best axe thrower in the company), Ben (not the best axe thrower in the company), and Anthony on a daily basis and often with the engineering team throughout the design process.

We use Freehand, Sketch, and Abstract as our design toolset and Slack, GitHub, and Asana extensively for communication within and between teams.

    Why work with us...?

Establish a design system that allows engineering to build quickly/efficiently.

Work closely with pharmacists to design new features and iterate on the existing offering.

Further establish the DocStation brand to allow for future product offerings.

Improve the design/messaging of our marketing site.

Design marketing strategies and materials for conferences/events.

You will do phenomenal in this role if you have:

Compassion for pharmacists working in a busy setting.

A collaborative spirit to work with and learn from the entire organization.

Initiative to identify problems and act on opportunities to improve the product.

Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.

Integrity, respect for others, modesty, and passion.

It's a plus if you also have:

Experience designing for complex products with large amounts of data to input and view.

Experience using tools to collaborate with the rest of the company about designs (InVision, Marvel, Figma).

HTML/CSS experience to contribute to building or modifying components.

Why is now the right time for DocStation & Value Based Pharmacy?:

The American healthcare system is broken (watch this episode of Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj) and pharmacists are in a unique position to help take better care of patients while saving money in the process.

Medicare population & spend is set to double in the next 5-10 years.

The US will be 100k primary care physicians short of what’s required by 2030.

Patients are already seeing their pharmacist up to 32x a year when they're only seeing their primary care physician 4x/year.

    BENEFITS

    Some DocStation benefits:

Fully distributed company - work from wherever you're most comfortable

    Competitive salary & health benefits

Equipment you need to do your job

Team retreats & outings (our last was to Big Sky, MT for skiing/snowboarding)

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

    Description

Webflow has huge ambitions to fundamentally change the way websites and web applications are designed and built. We believe that web development should be accessible to anyone who loves to create, not just those who can code. We're looking for someone who shares this vision for the future and who is enthusiastic about building creative tools.

As a product designer, you'll be translating powerful code-based paradigms to visual UI. The best candidates possess the skills and insights to build intuitive solutions that solve for common use cases. You'll have to strike a balance between power and ease of use when building creative tools for the next generation of web designers.
