  • User-centric: You have a strong user-centered approach when making design decisions, and you back those decisions with user research.
  • Open-minded: You’re very open to feedback and trying new things.
  • Learn from users: You have some experience conducting user interviews and/or surveys.

  • Meticulous: You have a strong attention to detail when it comes to design guidelines and consistency.

    About Us

At Close, we're building the sales communication platform of the future. With our roots as the very first sales CRM to include built-in calling, we're leading the industry toward eliminating manual processes and helping companies to close more deals (faster). Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a fully profitable, 100% globally distributed team of 33 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

We are growing the Product team (of 3) to help define the features that will have the biggest impact for our customers and their sales teams.

    About You

You are a generalist with a wide set of design skills including user interface design, user experience design, an understanding of usability concerns, and the ability to write easily digestible copy. You enjoy the challenge of designing for sometimes deeply technical problems.

You have worked with, or helped create, design systems and understand version control for design files (we use Abstract).

You are comfortable working remotely as part of a small team, with a high level of autonomy. You have designed beautiful and elegant solutions for desktop SaaS products and are familiar with the space.

You understand technical constraints, their impact, and can adjust your design approach accordingly. You enjoy the problem solving aspects of design, and you’ve had experience working on complex web or desktop apps.

You have been wrong and can admit it. You can articulate why it happened and how you’ve learned from that experience. You’re not precious about your designs and can accept constructive feedback freely. Equally, you can argue effectively for your viewpoint when needed.

You are able to easily demonstrate your process for taking rough concepts and briefs from lo-fi sketches through to high fidelity mockups ready to be implemented. You’re confident in communicating the rationale of your decisions.

You are in a European or American timezone.

    About The Role

You will be responsible for understanding and designing new features and improvements as part of a small feature team. You will ensure the solution satisfies the initial problem statement, is technically viable, and integrates well with existing design patterns (or adds new ones where necessary).

You’ll be working with Craig (best axe thrower in the company), Ben (not the best axe thrower in the company), and Anthony on a daily basis and often with the engineering team throughout the design process.

We use Freehand, Sketch, and Abstract as our design toolset and Slack, GitHub, and Asana extensively for communication within and between teams.

    Why work with us...?

    • 100% Remote (we believe in trust and autonomy)
    • 2 x Annual Team Retreats ✈️ (Lisbon Retreat Video)
    • Competitive salary
    • Medical, Dental with HSA option - 99% premiums paid (US residents)
    • 5 Weeks PTO + 6 Government Holidays + Dec 24 - Jan 1 Company Holiday
    • Parental Leave (10 wks primary caregiver / 4 wks secondary caregiver)
    • 401k matching at 4% (US residents)
    • Our story and team 🚀
    • Glassdoor Reviews

At Close, everyone has a voice. We encourage transparency and practicing a mature approach to the work-place. In general, we don’t have strict policies, we have guidelines. Work/Life harmony is an important part of our organization - we believe you bring your best to work when you practice self care (whatever that looks like for you).

We come from 12 countries and 14 states; a collection of talented humans rich in diverse backgrounds, lifestyles and cultures. Twice a year we meet up somewhere around the world to spend time with one another. We see these retreats as an opportunity to strengthen the social fiber of our community.

This team is growing in more ways than one - we’ve recently launched 8 babies (and counting!). Unanimously, our favorite and most impactful value is “Build a house you want to live in.” We strive to make decisions that are authentic for our organization. At Close, we have a high care factor for one another, in making an awesome product and championing the success of our customers.

You will create and mold the direction of new concepts, marketing campaigns and overall experiences across all products and media.

Our ideal candidate is excited about the blockchain and motivated by understanding the user’s perspective and implementing that research into beautiful designs.

    What You Will Do

Understand blockchain asset specifications and the impact of user psychology, emotions and feelings when interacting with Exodus.

Continually refine design concepts and new features based on emotional customer responses.

Create and format marketing campaigns for social media platforms.

Conceptualize and design smart and engaging web and mobile sites and applications.

Create static mockups and design prototypes of new products and ideas.

Advanced designers will move static mockups to animated presentations.

Present your design concepts on GitHub, clearly explaining user journeys and application states in each stage of user interaction.

Use Trello to track project progress and provide updates.

Build Information Architecture solutions and Wireframes to communicate structure and functionality.

    Who You Are

You know about Bitcoin and have explored digital assets. Move to the front of the line immediately if you have exchanged digital assets and hold some of your savings in blockchain assets.

You have a strong desire to learn more about cryptocurrencies.

You see the potential of design bringing blockchain technology to the masses.

You have a passion for molding complicated technology into simple, elegant experiences.

You love bringing your ideas to life and watching users interact with your creations.

You rebound from setbacks and adversity with both elegance, poise and ease.

You’re resourceful. You know how to find and deploy resources effectively.

You easily gain the confidence and trust of others through integrity and transparent honesty.

    Salary and Payment

Exodus UI/UX Designers start between 45k - 85k+ USD based on experience. All salaries are paid in Bitcoin. Although we understand everyone will not fit everything in the categories below, and some designers may be more technical with code while others may be more UI-focused with design, these are some general salary guidelines for this position based on your background and expertise.

    45k :

You know your way around design tools like Sketch, Photoshop, Flinto, After Effects, Zeplin and Illustrator. You can take previously finished concepts and spin off iterations for marketing campaigns. You are excited to be surrounded by UI/UX experts from whom you can learn and soak up knowledge. You can’t wait to dive into finished Exodus design files to break them apart and understand how they work and the details of what makes them pixel-perfect. You know a limited amount of HTML and CSS and have not yet got into Javascript or coding in a deep sense.

    60k :

You take all the skills at the 45k range and improve on them to be able to create your own designs from scratch. Your design has years of experience but is not yet at the level of a senior level design leader. You know how to make pixel perfect designs and have an extensive portfolio of client work you have completed in the past. You are comfortable working in After Effects and have a desire to improve all aspects of animation and user experience. Although you have never led a team you have worked with a team and started to see leadership qualities in yourself and are beginning to help others. At this level you also have deeper knowledge about HTML/CSS and Javascript interactions. You are familiar with GitHub and working with a team remotely to share your concepts and interactions.

    85k+ :

You understand deep emotional aspects of UI and UX design and can lead peers to create an entire campaign from just words and end-goals given to you in a meeting. You will be able to go off and not only create entire user journeys but add value by understanding the core business value of what you are creating and how to generate additional features or product upgrades that add value to the customer. You know After Effects and have a deep understanding of animation and the emotional impact created by subtle animations. If you are more technical you have a deep understanding of HTML/CSS and Javascript and can work directly on GitHub to bring concepts in Sketch to life in responsive web design.

    How To Apply

Send us a link to your online portfolio or your Dribbble or Behance profile (if you code send links to finished websites) + a few words on why you think you are a good fit highlighting any of the above items to [email protected]

If you have a Resume/CV, please ensure it is attached in PDF format.

We also immediately move candidates to the front of the line if you submit a private video of yourself talking about the following:

One item you would like to improve about Exodus.

Tell us what you are passionate about and what you will not compromise on.
