      - Experience doing data-visualisation & canvas

      - Experience with deployment automation tools

      - A good dose of ambition, as well as a great sense of humor

      How to Apply:

We receive a lot of applications so try to submit something that will grab our attention! It’s important for us to see your understanding of our product so make sure that:

      1) you've done some research on Maze and signed up to try the product;

      2) you include a well-structured and concise message with your application explaining why you find Maze interesting and why you'd be a good fit. Show off a little :).

      Job Opening: Backend Platform Engineer

We’re looking for someone to join our Platform Engineering team at Ferrum. Are you interested in building services to help hospitals detect and eliminate the millions of medical errors that occur every year? If so, read on.

      About You

You have experience solving challenges with microservices and scaling systems securely. You are comfortable building robust applications with Go or similar languages, Docker, PostgreSQL, Linux, and more in complex systems. Your significant experience interacting with and developing APIs provides a framework for creating both internal and external facing endpoints.

You love efficiency and automation. Your work at Ferrum will have a huge impact on the business. You understand that automation and infrastructure pays dividends. You take pride in creating tools to help the team perform at a high level and scale to new challenges.

You communicate and document everything. At Ferrum, we are a distributed remote team. A culture of sharing and documentation allows everyone to seamlessly work together. Further, for FDA and other healthcare regulatory approvals our documentation of development, testing, and validation must be airtight.

You take ownership of a project from ideation to delivery and maintenance. Your experience provides a framework for you to work independently on multiple initiatives as both the end-to-end owner and as a contributor to features. You take pride in creating services that are easy to debug and maintain.

You want to make a positive and lasting impact on the world. You understand that technology has the power to improve people’s lives and enrich our society. You see the inequality in your own community and around the world and you look to change it.

      What You Will Do

Ferrum is a distributed, fast-growing company so you will be wearing many hats and pitch in on different components and projects across the organization. That said, here are some examples of what you’ll do:

      • Scale up the platform and integrations between machine learning algorithms and the pipeline

      • Design and build the APIs interfacing the data pipeline and machine learning services

      • Building security tools to protect sensitive patient data throughout the data pipeline

      • Optimize bare-metal appliances to meet the high performance needs of the application

      • Provision infrastructure for the secure services coordinating on-premise and cloud-hosted services

      About Ferrum

Medical errors kill 6 million patients every year and are the third leading cause of death worldwide. Ferrum provides doctors with an automated quality management system and machine learning marketplace that ensures they catch and fix medical errors before they affect patient care. The service does not affect physician workflow, takes less than a day to install, and is delivered via a secure appliance so patient data never leaves the hospital. Ferrum has been deployed at hospitals in multiple countries around the world. We are a highly technical team led by experienced founders who have built, funded, and scaled successful healthcare technology companies previously.

When you become a Doister, you’re not only joining a global, remote-first company, but a team of 70+ people who value:

      • Independence. Others can trust that you’ll deliver on time and your teammates don’t need to worry about you keeping your word.

      • Mastery. You love what you do and care deeply about the quality of your work, down to the smallest details. You’re continuously learning and pushing yourself to the limits of your ability. You're never satisfied with the status-quo.

      • Communication. Your communication is clear, concise, and engaging whether you're explaining a complex idea or providing feedback to a teammate.

      • Balance. You're mindful about cultivating a healthy work-life balance. You care about the well-being of yourself, your team and the people around you.

      • Impact. You're able to take a bird's eye view to pinpoint and then solve issues that have a high impact on our customers, our team, and our company. You're committed to the health and success of both your teammates and Doist as a company.

We invite you to visit our blog to learn more about us, our values, and how we work.

The Frontend team at Doist is looking for a new developer to join their ranks to build the best possible user experience for millions of user across multiple products.

      How we work:

The Frontend team is responsible for all code that runs in a browser. Be it the web apps of Twist and Todoist, browser extensions, electron apps or our landing pages.

Our main product work happens inside cross-disciplinary teams, that we call squads. You can read more about this in our blog. We have a rotating Hero role whose main responsibility is to tackle support issues, fix bugs and work on smaller improvements. On top of that everybody on the team gets a day per week to spend on Housekeeping; during this time we pay back technical debt, fix bugs and in general improve the health of our code base.

We believe in picking the most effective tools to do our best work. At the moment this means most of our communication happens asynchronously in Twist. Code and bugs are managed and reviewed in GitHub. Team meetings are done in Zoom.

We don't have a lot of scheduled meetings. Once a week the team meets to discuss the previous week and plan the next one. Once a month the whole team comes together for a retrospective to share candid feedback and take a look at the coming month.

      Day-to-day work:

What your work will look like on a day-to-day basis:

      • Implement features. From proposal, through specification and implementation, to maintenance. You're encouraged and expected to propose things that you think can be a good addition to the product.

      • Provide feedback. When planning a feature you're expected to provide feedback on expected challenges and unknowns as early as possible.

      • Improve the code quality. With time, our code accumulated some technical debt, which we pay off. Often we do it while we make features, but we also dedicate time to housekeeping each week.

      • Be a responsible & exemplary team member. We do code reviews, refactor code, learn new things and share our knowledge. You might also be appointed mentor of a new comer

      • Lead a squad. From time to time you might be a squad leader which bears the responsibility for the success of the project. In practical terms, you plan the squad work and orchestrate its execution. You balance this activity with hands-on work within the same squad.

      • Be a Hero. During this time you'll be working closely with the support team to triage and fix bugs from users. Also, you help speed up code reviews and support other teams in their projects.

To thrive as a Frontend Developer at Doist:

Passionate about web development? Looking for a flexible, remote role where you are working on an enthusiastic and committed team?  This is a brilliant opportunity to develop your technical skills within a forward-thinking and supportive team.

Initial 6 months, full time with potential for permanent.

Anywhere within 2 hours of the UK timezone.

                                              The Role

You will be helping to care for a number of Umbraco websites, including maintenance & support, bug fixing and adding new features. You will also be involved, with the rest of the development team, in the planning and development of new Umbraco sites, redesigns and overhauls of existing sites.

You will be working remotely as part of a small team of 10 spread across the UK, Europe and beyond. You will also be communicating with clients directly. This requires excellent written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with both technical and non-technical people.

                                              You

                                              • enjoy solving problems and are constantly looking to learn and improve
                                              • are outstanding at communicating both verbally and in written English (and more than tech-speak!)
                                              • are detail oriented and meticulous about quality
                                              • understand how important good, disciplined process is; in software development as well as communication and project management

The ideal person will bring the correct mindset, ability to learn and adapt along with as wide a range of technical experience as possible, we therefore encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.

The mix of remote working and the challenge of improving your technical skills while communicating directly with the client means that this role requires very strong English communication skills and a good level of self-confidence.  Thus we encourage applications from candidates with a range of experiences, including career changers and those returning to work.

                                              Technology

We are more interested in your interest in web development & your ability to learn, solve problems and your professional approach to coding. However, you do need to have a good working knowledge in C#, ASP.NET MVC, HTML/CSS and Javascript. Experience of Umbraco (or other CMS)  is an advantage, although is not required.

                                              What’s in it for you?

                                              Impact

You will bring your experience, ideas and energy to the role. As part of a small, fun team you will be much more than just another cog in the wheel. There is a huge opportunity to further develop your technical & other skills.

                                              Purpose

A key part of our purpose is to contribute in a positive way to the world around us. Thus we dedicate a portion of their “on the job” time working on ‘pro-bono’ projects that have societal value. This might include open source development, charity projects or training and assisting other organisations.

                                              Transparency

We run on self management principles.  This does not mean a completely flat hierarchy, any group of humans will have leaders. It does mean that we all input into how the company is run and everyone is invited to get involved and take on the level of responsibility that suits each of us. It also means that leadership is much more fluid than in a traditional company hierarchy.

We provide a lot of support and coaching to help you thrive in this environment and thus to do great work. Although it can be challenging, it is incredibly rewarding to be part of.

                                              Location & Hours

This role is remote, much of the time you can work from anywhere – well almost – anywhere within 2 hours of the UK timezone. We are more interested in results than micromanaging which means we are very happy to talk about flexibility in your working hours. Some of our team enjoy a very structured day, others flex their work around family commitments.

Twice each year we meet-up for about a week to work together. Recent locations have included Morocco, Madeira, Bulgaria and Scotland. As well as being really useful it is a lot of fun, so we do all we can to help everyone join where it is possible.

                                              • The 6-week rotation follows this format: 1 week on backup on-call(which rarely sees much action), 1 week of being on-call, followed by a 4 week hiatus from on-call.
                                              • Our on-call shift is not particularly wearisome, but as a thank you for carrying the weight for the week, the day following your shift is a free day off if you want to take it. We want you happy, healthy and well-rested!

                                              About Us
Help Scout is made by roughly 110 people in 80+ cities around the world, all with a passion for helping others. We come from diverse backgrounds and are united by an enthusiasm for great products and delightful customer experiences. Help Scout launched in 2011 and today we have more than 10,000 paying customers in 140+ countries.

                                              Why Help Scout?
We're remote. It doesn’t matter if you’ve worked remotely before — we’ve been doing it for nearly a decade and are helping to write the playbook — we’re happy to show you the ropes. Most folks that get a taste of working in a "remote first" company have a hard time going back to the old way of doing things.

We’re passionate about diversity and inclusion. The data is abundantly clear about diverse teams being more successful, and we're dedicated to setting the team up for success. Today our leadership team is 62% women, and that's just the start. Here’s our 2019 report.

We're committed to SMBs for the long term. Help Scout is focused entirely on serving small and midsize businesses, typically up to 500 employees, because those companies view customer service differently. It's not a cost to be optimized, it's their most effective marketing tool and a key differentiator from the competition. We built Help Scout for companies that truly value being customer-centric (like us) and want a product that shares their values.

We're leaving the world better than we found it. Did you know Help Scout is a certified B Corporation, with a mission to give away at least 1% of our product through Help Scout for Good? Our company exists not just to help ourselves, but to invest in our team, our customers, our community, and our environment.

                                              Our commitment to you
We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a company that embraces and celebrates diversity and inclusion. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We have read the studies and understand that diverse teams build better products, bring more perspective to the table, contribute to a company’s financial success and help foster a more inclusive environment for all employees, but the bottom line is that it's the right thing to do.

                                              Hello!

Thanks for taking a look at the job description for a remote Senior Fullstack Developer at Impala. We felt a little bit impersonal just throwing you right in there with words like “revolutionizing” and “disrupting”.

As such, we want you to know that the person that wrote this job description apologises in advance for any clichés, tropes or sudden-insecurity-driven-panic-attacks that you might find in the description below.

                                              What is Impala?

Impala makes building travel software incredibly easy. We provide hotels with a powerful data management platform that makes connecting to software, hardware and room distributors extremely easy. Think Twilio for Travel.

We launched the product in January 2019 and since then have grown at - quite frankly - a ridiculous old clip. Our technology is already installed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, on six continents and categorises more than 1 billion data points.

We are a growing team of exceptional people split across engineering, product and commercial that have built a fantastic community.

                                              Where is Impala going?

We’re supported by some of the best investors in the business, the early-stage backers behind Deliveroo, PillPack, SecretEscapes, Zoopla, Trivago, Monzo, Travelperk, Transferwise, Airbnb, GetYourGuide, Omio, Spotify and more!

They’re on board because of the opportunity that lies before us - revolutionizing a 1.6 trillion dollar market that’s been out-of-date for 20 years.

They also share our vision of democratising travel and enabling innovation across the industry.

Within the next two years, 25% of hotel bookings worldwide will flow through Impala technology and the product that we’re building will support the entire ecosystem of travel technology (we already have over a thousand companies signed up).

Anyone travelling anywhere will interact with products powered by Impala and to achieve this we’re growing the team extensively within the next year. Now is the most exciting time to be joining Impala as we go through a large push to scale up!

A brief overview of what you will be doing here:

                                              • Acting as a technical authority for a broad and distributed set of services with high availability & security requirements.

                                              • Improving the security, reliability and quality of our products.

                                              • Ideating, developing and iterating new features, enabling our technology partners to add value to hotels and travellers.

                                              • Working directly with stakeholders; part and parcel of working in an autonomous, metric-driven development team.

                                              You should join us if:

                                              • You have experience in the design and end-to-end development of Node-based services

                                              • You have experience leading the development of mature, large scale / high traffic systems and services

                                              • You’ve worked with high availability requirements and know how to lead the development of secure, reliable services

                                              • You feel comfortable working closely with product owners, designers and other stakeholders

                                              • You are extremely collaborative, Impala’s engineering team is not political, everyone has great ideas and should be open to input. We have no space for brilliant jerks.

                                              • You are passionate about customer experience and building high-quality maintainable software that looks and works fantastically.

                                              Where will you work?

This is a remote position. This means you can work from anywhere +/- 2 Hours of London, timezone wise (and less than a 3 hour flight).

Our whole engineering team is in fact fully distributed, because we don't want to miss out on incredible new teammates just because they don't live in London.

                                              As part of that:

                                              About Us

At Close, we're building the sales communication platform of the future. With our roots as the very first sales CRM to include built-in calling, we're leading the industry toward eliminating manual processes and helping companies to close more deals (faster). Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a profitable, 100% globally distributed team of 43 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

Our backend tech stack currently consists of Python Flask/Gunicorn web apps with our TaskTiger scheduler handling many of the backend asynchronous task processing. Our data stores include MongoDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis. The underlying infrastructure runs on AWS using a combination of managed services like RDS and ElasticCache and non-managed services running on EC2 instances. All of our compute runs through CI/CD pipelines that build Docker images, run automated tests and deploy to our Kubernetes clusters. Our backend primarily serves a well-documented public API that our front-end JavaScript app consumes.

We ❤️open source – using dozens of open source projects with contributions to many of them, and released some of our own like ciso8601, LimitLion, SocketShark, TaskTiger, and more at https://github.com/closeio

                                              About You

                                              Hello!

Thanks for taking a look at the job description for Senior Data Engineer at Impala.

                                              What is Impala now?

Impala makes building travel software incredibly easy. We provide hotels with a powerful data management platform that makes connecting to software, hardware and room distributors extremely easy. Think Twilio for Travel.

We launched in January 2019 and since then have grown at - quite frankly - a ridiculous old clip. Our technology is already installed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, on six continents and categorises more than 1 billion data points.

We are a growing team of exceptional people split across engineering, product and commercial that have built a fantastic community.

                                              Where is Impala going?

We’re supported by some of the best investors in the business, the early stage backers behind Deliveroo, PillPack, SecretEscapes, Zoopla, Trivago and more. They’re on board because of our vision - revolutionizing a $1.6 trillion dollar market that’s been out-of-date for 20 years.

Within the next two years, 25% of hotel bookings worldwide will flow through Impala technology and the product that we’re building will support the entire ecosystem of travel technology (we already have over a thousand companies signed up).

Anyone travelling anywhere will interact with products powered by Impala and to achieve this we’re growing the team to 50 people within the next year. So now is the most exciting time to be joining Impala as we go through a large push to scale up!

                                            • Our mission

The problem: In 2017, nearly 60% of adults in sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

How we're solving it: We're building financial services to work as they should: no account fees, instantly available and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always function, we're creating financial infrastructure that "just works." In fall 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments; we're now processing over 200k payments every month. Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent, starting with Senegal. That's where you come in...

How you'll help us achieve it

We’re looking for an experienced engineer who’s independent, excited about getting things done and ready to hit the ground running. You'll be responsible for building and improving the ways people pay with Wave. You'll own every step of the process—from understanding the problem, to shipping your solution for users, to helping the customer support team resolve problems.

Our to-do list changes constantly, but here are some recent projects:

                                              • Allowing people to pay their electricity bills with Wave, by integrating with Senelec, the national electrical utility.

                                              • Building an app for business owners to pay their employees' salaries using Wave.

                                              • Letting us safely lend smartphones to thousands of taxi drivers so they can accept payments with Wave, by building software to manage the phones and discourage theft.

                                              Key Details

                                              • You can work remotely from anywhere (between UTC -8 and +4) with reliable Internet access

                                              • Our team meets in Senegal every two months for retreats, which are one week in length. Wave covers all costs associated with travel to and from Senegal.

                                              • Salaries are calculated using a transparent formula. Salary for this role ranges between $120,000 to $155,000.

                                              Major benefits:

                                              • Subsidized health insurance for you and your dependents and retirement contributions (both vary from country-to-country)

                                              • 6 months fully paid parental leave and subsidized fertility assistance

                                              • Unlimited vacation with a 20-day minimum requirement

                                              • $10,000 annual charitable donation matching

                                              Requirements

                                              • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a software engineer. There's no need to have previous experience with our stack, if you are willing to learn.

                                              • Native or fluent English.

You might be a good fit if you

                                              • Are excited to deeply understand the inner workings of the tools you use.

                                              • Push through hard problems without giving up.

                                              • Are not afraid to take on complicated systems.

                                              • Reflexively ask yourself, “how will this code change affect my users?”

                                              • Can communicate clearly with colleagues who work, speak and think differently.

                                              • Work to make things easier for the next engineer who will touch your code.

                                              • Always try to improve as a programmer and colleague.

                                              Our team

We're a team of ~130 people (90 Senegalese and 40 International) who are deeply passionate about our mission of bringing great financial services to the people who need them most.

We foster autonomy for engineers. We have no project managers—you'll learn to own your own projects at every stage, from understanding the project to monitoring your solution in production.

We prize focus: we try to cut out all non-essential distractions so that you can spend as much time in the zone as possible. Aside from two weekly meetings—an all-hands and a one-on-one with your manager—your schedule is yours.

We care deeply about code quality. We do thorough design and code reviews, and frequently budget time for internal code improvement projects.

Our stack (note that we will train you on all of these—you don't need any prior experience): We have a Python 3 (+ mypy) backend, GraphQL API and Android (Kotlin) frontend, backed by a Postgres database. Our infrastructure is on GCP, managed with Kubernetes and Terraform. Learn more about engineering at Wave: https://wave.engineering/

                                              How to apply

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If interested, please submit a resume as well as a cover letter describing your interest in Wave and the role.

On the non-technical side – a good level of command over the English language is also a plus.

                                            • Hey there! We're looking for a Customer Support Representative to join our team in providing amazing customer support to educators around the world. Gimkit currently is just three people — you'll increase the size of our team by 33%!

                                              **About the Job**

Once fully up to speed, you’ll be the one responsible for providing outstanding customer service and support, primarily over email. You’ll help answer questions on Twitter, create and edit help documentation, and perhaps host some classes. You’ll also have opportunities to carve out your own passion projects related to supporting educators and students.

While we're helping you get on board, you’ll be expected to be proactive in your process and learn quickly.

Written communication is a huge part of this role - you’ll write about 100 emails per day. This is a significant volume, so be sure that you’re ready and able to deal with that kind of daily load — you’ll get all the support and guidance you need along the way!

There are three main parts of this job. The largest is responding to customers and supporting them in finding the information and solutions they need. The second is creating content to help customers before they reach out. The final part is communicating to us. You'll be the one communicating with customers every day and you'll be their advocate on the product development side.

                                              About You

                                              • You're a great writer and love helping educators. You enjoy making complicated situations simple and delightful. As a result, you're a great problem-solver who can process and resolve issues quickly. You're a stellar communicator, even when you have to communicate less-than-stellar news.

                                              • You're as compassionate and empathetic as they come - you have a drive to constantly help others.

                                              • Deep technical knowledge of computer programming is not required, but you have a solid understanding of common issues with web-based software and how to get information to help us solve them.

                                              • You feel comfortable speaking up about your values. We make change from fresh perspectives and appreciate new viewpoints. Your voice matters to us.

                                              • You love supporting people. This isn’t a springboard into another area at Gimkit. You want to handle Gimkit's support for a while, and you’re excited to contribute to making Gimkit the best product for our customers.

                                              • We strongly encourage candidates of all different backgrounds and identities to apply. Each new hire is an opportunity for us to bring in a different perspective, and we are always eager to further diversify our company. Gimkit is committed to building an inclusive, supportive place for you to do the best and most rewarding work of your career while being yourself.

                                              Pay + Benefits

                                              • We believe in fair, living wages no matter where you live. To do this, we pay 30% more than the average person makes in your city with the same role and experience.

                                              • However, tech salaries have gone up much quicker than customer support salaries. If you live in San Francisco and got paid 30% better than the average Customer Support Representative, you would get paid $53,000 a year. That's not a fair, living wage. So, we've decided to pay whichever is higher: $65,000 a year or 30% more than the average person makes in your city with the same role and experience.

                                              • We don't do bonuses at Gimkit. Instead, we share Gimkit's profits across all employees. Typically, each employee takes home thousands extra every year.

                                              • Our benefits are all aimed at supporting a life well lived away from work. None are designed to try to make you work longer hours or force you into staying around for a job you don't like.

                                              - 💗 Health, dental, and vision insurance: 100% premiums for you and 50% premiums for your dependents

                                              - 📘 5 paid days per year to volunteer in Education

                                              - 🛎️ $350 a month working budget (for co-working space, coffee shop, home office improvement)

                                              - ✈️ Work remotely. At home, co-working space, or coffee shop, it's up to you. Your salary will adapt to fit the cost of living wherever you live

                                              - 😔 And while this shouldn't need to be mentioned under benefits, we think it's worthwhile to bring up work-week hours. Only about 12% of startup employees work 40 hours a week or less ([https://stateofstartups2019.firstround.com/](https://stateofstartups2019.firstround.com/)). We're part of that 12%. We're not interested in crazy hours.

Finally, we think it's important to mention we're not VC funded. We're completely bootstrapped. We're running a profitable, sustainable business where we can afford to pay well and offer great benefits while making something people love.

                                              - Why you want to work in customer support.

                                              - A description of a great customer service/support experience you had recently, and what made it great.

Then, pick three of the customer questions below and answer them like you would if you worked here (hint: at this point, we value tone and style over correctness):

                                              - How do I cancel my subscription?

Email your application and/or questions to us at [email protected] We’re accepting applications for this position until March 15th.

We’ll let you know that we’ve received your application. After that, you probably shouldn't expect to hear back from us until after the application deadline has passed. We want to give everyone a fair chance to apply and be evaluated.

We’re seeking fluent English speakers/writers to work with us to answer customer inquiries via email during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

We’re a remote company, so your location isn’t as important as your fit for the role. That said, we do prefer that your daytime hours coincide with your working hours so as to avoid night shift burnout. Remember to tell us where you’re located!

We look forward to hearing from you!

                                              ABOUT YOU

📝 **You’re an excellent writer.** We’re a fully remote team that relies heavily on asynchronous, written communication. And since you’ll be chatting with customers exclusively over email, social media, and on our community site, you’ll need writing chops appropriate for a public audience.

🗣 **You love interacting with customers!** This role isn’t a stepping stone to another department at Roon Labs. You love being on the front lines with customers and want to pursue a career in customer success.

🖥 **You’re somewhat technical.** You know a little bit about how the internet, computers, software, and mobile applications work together. Or you know where to look for answers when you run into a problem with your computer. You don’t need a computer science degree or prior experience in a technical support role, but you do need to be able to document technical issues and report them back to the team.

💡 **You’re eager to help.** When things break or something goes wrong, you’re eager to hop in and help. And after that, you reflect on what happened and make suggestions for improvement. You make noise when you get stuck or something feels wrong.

                                              BONUS POINTS

                                              • Experience using help desk software

                                              • Knowledge or familiarity of the high-resolution audio industry

                                            • Our mission

The problem: In 2017, nearly 60% of adults in sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

How we're solving it: We're building financial services to work as they should: no account fees, instantly available and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always function, we're creating financial infrastructure that "just works." In November 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments and we recently launched in Cote d'Ivoire. Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent. That's where you come in...

How you'll help us achieve it

We know design can help us make a great impression on potential users as well as hiring candidates. We recently worked with a design firm to develop a new brand which will launch next month. We're looking for someone to join our team to implement our new brand in all our materials (posters, signs, flyers, etc.), aiming at a press launch in Q2 2020, then move onto mobile app and web graphic design. You will report to the Head of Product.

                                              Responsibilities:

                                              • Understand and express our mission, values, strategy and users' needs through design.

                                              • Have substantial experience in either print or application graphic design:

                                              • If app — owned the visual design of an important feature on web or mobile

We are looking for a data analyst to join our fast growing team, working alongside the founders. Ideally, you are passionate, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, independent thinker and incredibly intelligent.

                                              The Nitty-gritty Details

                                              • Company: Workstream

                                              • Website: https://www.workstream.is

                                              • Location: Remote

                                              • Position: Data Analyst

                                              • Position type: Full-time

                                              • Reporting to: Co-founder & chief product officer

                                              Opportunities to Progress in Career

Workstream is a San Francisco based, rapidly growing, seed-stage startup, funded by well known institutional and angel investors (happy to share more privately). We are a small team of ~20 full timers + a few part timers with strong passion to make hiring easier and faster. We hope you will bring the same energy and share with the team.

We are looking for someone that can grow with our team over time. You will start as a Data Analyst, but it won’t be any ordinary analyst. You will get plenty of exposure to the leadership team (think weekly), reporting directly to one of the founders. You will also get to work closely with our engineering team to build and maintain our data warehouse and data infrastructure, in addition to answering business questions.

You will succeed if you have a startup mentality of “getting sh*t done”, and you will grow as the company scales. If you are looking for a relaxed 9-5, please back away slowly. If you are insanely bright, hard working, humble, and looking to build a career on the ground floor of an exciting and fast-growing software-as-a-service (SaaS) business, this is for you.

                                              Responsibilities

                                              - You will be responsible for creating and maintaining company KPI dashboards so everyone across the company can monitor our performance (we are transparent and data-driven), and team leads can make informed decisions. This means writing a LOT of SQL -- and making sure the data is accurate and reliable.

                                              - Then, you will explain those metrics to leadership and each team, making sure they understand the ins-and-outs of the data. As a data analyst, you know that there are caveats behind every single chart; it’s your job to make sure that your audience understands it too when they make business-critical decisions. This may come in 1:1 meetings, team meetings, or deep dive sessions.

                                              - You will also be called on and counted on for supporting ad hoc requests from the leadership, and to help with preparing board decks. These may happen last-minutely and urgently, and you’ll be expected to act quick, without compromising quality.

                                              - To do all of these, we need a solid foundation of data warehouse and architecture. Together with your manager, you will build and maintain our data warehouse and architecture. That means working with engineering to integrate new data sources (as our teams adopt new internal tools). It also means creating and maintaining clear documentation on data flow, schema, and naming convention.

                                              - You are at the frontline at fostering a data-driven culture across the company. Champion for single source of truth (SSOT), and champion for understanding and using data the right way.

                                              - Lastly, train and guide other teammates (sales ops, customer success ops, etc.) on how they can best use data to guide their own work.

                                              Skill sets and requirements

                                              - You resonate with our company values. Culture fit is a must have for us, and hopefully these will resonate with you! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SHaeKG3IUy_1kE0y8FRnM8PPoEdMS0gmNIsSP3dG-3A/edit

                                              - You are humble, hungry, disciplined, and curious.

                                              - You have 3+ years experience in data analytics for SaaS businesses.

                                              - You understand SaaS, B2B, and startup metrics very well.

                                              - SQL ninja – excellent SQL skills, able to create charts/reports/dashboards in minutes.

                                              - Fundamental understanding of relational databases.

                                              - Fluent with data visualisation/business intelligence tools such as Mode, Periscope, Looker.

                                              - Fluent with Google Sheets and (to a lesser extent) Excel.

                                              - Experience working with large and complex datasets.

                                              - Comfortable communicating technical concepts to high level stakeholders.

                                              - Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.

                                              - You are an excellent written and verbal communicator.

                                              - You have fantastic problem-solving abilities, analytical horsepower, an attention to detail, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get things done.

                                              - Self-directed learner who requires little oversight.

                                              Nice to have:

                                              - You have worked remotely before.

                                              - You have an engineering / devops background and can maintain our data infrastructure.

Our founders, Kolton Andrus and Matthew Fornaciari, lived and breathed incidents, on-call, and Chaos Engineering at Amazon and Netflix. As “Call Leaders” they were responsible for guiding teams through analyzing and rectifying global outages. After a decade of developing and advocating Chaos Engineering internally, they captured their learnings in the Gremlin product and launched the company in 2016.

Since then we’ve built an incredible team of industry veterans and people eager to learn and bring their knowledge over from other companies. We’re backed by top tier investors Index Ventures, Amplify Partners, and Redpoint Ventures. Our customers love us, and we’re thrilled to be a partner in their success.

                                            • Platform.sh is a groundbreaking hosting and development tool for web applications. We’re a European VC-Backed startup with a host of blue-chip Enterprise clients and a string of awards and grants (including €2m from the EU Horizon 2020 program).

Platform.sh is built on top of open source languages, libraries and projects. But we never shy away from writing code. This means that even if there is an existing open source project that covers much of the functionality of something we want to achieve, we will consider, and often enough, chose to write our own implementation; Because sometimes 80/20 is not good enough. We have our own orchestration layer, our own reverse proxy, our own file-systems, our own reproducible build system.

To reinforce our technical prowess, we are looking to grow our operations team with an operations coordinator that knows their way around Linux. If you’re looking for an exciting, high-growth opportunity with an award-winning, cutting-edge company, this could be just the job for you.

Outside of code, employees are encouraged to share causes close to their hearts with others so we can help lend a supportive hand.
